I always get the grilled pork here. Can’t complain about toasty buns, veggies, and savory grilled pork. The original #1 bahnmi comes with plenty of meat as well. If I’m feeling it, I’ll order a bubble tea. Seating is limited but most get their bahnmi to go anyways. Keep in mind they’re closed on Tuesdays!

Satisfies a bahn mi craving, but there’s nothing special about it. I’ve visited twice, and the sandwiches were just average both times. The menu also includes a variety of drinks(bubble teas, smoothies, and dessert drinks), but they’re $ 4 for a small cup, so I wasn’t inclined to try them There is limited seating, and each table is set up for 2. If you’re in a large party, it might be a better idea to do carry-out

The sandwiches are extremely sub par. The pickled veggies are very sweet and wet, which makes the whole sandwich overly sweet. The pork was salty and the buns were very narrow. Overall, not what I expected from a banh mi place. However, it is right next to a very good bakery. It’s in a strip mall behind he rock climbing gym.

Quick and efficient. I get the B6 with no mayo and it’s tasty, simple, and refreshing. The lychee smoothie is my personal crack. So. Good.

I am obsessed with their Banh mi bo nuong(Grilled lemongrass beef). Their sandwiches are ah-mazing. The baguette is crunchy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon were delicious! All in all, Mr Banh Mi offers yummy and authentic Vietnamese sandwiches at a great price!

This is a great little find! I’m Vietnamese and really do love a good banh mi. We stopped here and ordered the banh mi ga nuong(grilled lemon grass chicken) and the banh mi thi Nuong(grilled pork). They were both lovely. The pickled veggies really do make the sandwiches! We also ordered the tre ba mau, the banana smoothie, and the sugar cane drink. All really tasty. Love this place!

I had the B6 which was a taro and sweet rice pudding and a C6 banh mi but I don’t remember what was in that. Nonetheless those two were the bomb dot com. For the price, it was a great deal because my tummy was über satisfied. I gobbled that banh mi so quickly I forgot to take a picture. My apologies.

This place rocks — at least for vegetarians. I’ve been around at least a half dozen times so far, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. My fiancée and I order the same thing every time: B4s(vegetarian bologna) with double fried eggs. While I wouldn’t classify the sandwiches as particularly filling, they are incredibly satisfying. It can take a few minutes for an order to be ready, but it’s well worth it; the pickled vegetables, cilantro, eggs, and fake meat combine under a blanket of a freshly baked roll to form a delicious and rather refreshing meal — this isn’t a place that will make you fall asleep. My one caveat can be taken with a large grain of salt: Ordering sandwiches to go can have the unintended consequence of filling your car with a somewhat putrid scent — a byproduct of those delicious pickled vegetables. This is definitely one place I would recommend eating in instead of taking out.

On a Saturday errand run, what better time to stop at this highly rated sandwich shop. Upon entering and being the only patron, I had the opportunity to get a good feel for the ambiance. A very clean, modern and in order establishment. Seating is available for 12. The menus are posted behind the counter and are well presented. Sandwiches with cheaper proteins are $ 4.50 with higher grade proteins at the $ 6.50 price point. A variety of non alcoholic drinks, bubble teas, smoothies and juices are available. Fresh produce is clearly visible from the front of the house and they use top of the line juicers and blenders. At the recommendation of many Unilocal reviews, I went with the Grilled Beef. The flavor and seasoning were great and paired great with the fresh and crisp veggies. The baguette was perfect and was better than the competition. The shopping center the restaurant is in hides it a bit but Mr. Bahn Mi is defintely among Rockville Pike’s elite!

One of the many restaurants at 785 Rockville Pike, Mr. Bahn Mi was not a bad place. Between my brother, sister and I, we tried the B1, B6, and B7 sandwiches. Each of them were a foot long and split into two pieces. Of the Dac Biet(B1 — House Special), Grilled Pork, and the Grilled Beef sandwiches, I thought the grilled pork had the best flavor. The sauce Mr. B. Mi uses in combination with the pickled vegetables is really tasty. I had a lychee smoothie with boba and that went down great with the sandwiches. I typically, prefer my smoothies to hold together that way I can continue to drink from top to bottom. This one turned to broken slush about the middle. As for the location, it’s small. Two tables and a bar against the front window. You order the food and the drinks at the far end of the restaurant. If you don’t want bobab drinks, then you can find canned and bottled alternatives(i.e. coconut water, aloe drinks, soda/pop) in the fridges to the right. The service was friendly. You order, pay, and wait for your order. It’s not a lounge, they don’t bring you your food. Listen up for your order and then sit and eat, or take it to go. It’s fine. My sibs and I had a good time, but we made it that way. Hence the A-OK.

This review is for the specialty drinks and bubble tea. The C4 was up my ally because I do not like beans. Was told to mix it all up before indulging. Tried a little off all jellies which were pretty good. Mixed it up and whoa! Fun and tasty! I will be back for a banh mi sandwich in the near future.

Hadn’t been in a while so I thought I would stop by today before driving school with a friend. Kinda disappointed. I got a honeydew milk tea with boba as usual and the drink was good. It was the service that was severely lacking. Very dull expressions with no smiles and when my friend accidentally spilled her drink while trying to put the straw in, the people looked kind of pissed off and exhausted rather than understanding. My friend also got the lemongrass sandwich and it was very spicy so beware! However she said it was very good.

Good Banh Mi and dessert selection. No big complaints. just the person that attended to us was probably in high school and we could tell he didn’t want to be there. Can’t blame him. At that age, the last place I wanted to be was probably working on a Friday night at my family restaurant. With age they will come to find out that helping out your family is one of life’s most important things. WTH that wasn’t a food review lol.

For just over $ 6 I got a super delicious grilled pork Bahn Mi, that had the best crunchy, zesty veggies stuffed in. The meat was juicy, super aromatically flavored, with hints of anise and caramelization. I call this exceptional taste, and that’s coming from someone who goes to «Little Vietnam» in Falls Church VA regularly for food. I wolfed the whole mini baguette sandwich down, it was that good! It wasn’t weighed down by too much special mayo. Bread was perfectly crisp on the outside with a light bite. Not heavy. I would not hesitate to go back everytime I had a hankering for a Vietnamese banh mi while on Rockville Pike. Their sister establishment, Phở 95, just next door has been a years-long favorite of mine. The kitchen’s good influence has apparently spread next door! This place is a casual walk in café with some limited bar-stool seating. The cantaloupe bubble shake had so much ice that my lips froze, but the friendly staff member did use real fruit. The boba were not impressive.

MrBM has become my go-to when I’m craving an amazing sandwich. It’s never been super busy when I’ve gone in, but that’s perfect for me since I normally go in for some quick takeout. «B7», the beef banh mi with added fried egg is pretty killer.

Just shy of three stars. Closed on Tuesdays, which has forced me to get my fix elsewhere a few times. Friendly service, sufficient parking in the busy shared plaza lot. Limited seating inside for maybe a dozen people, including counters. Ca phe sua da was okay and they didn’t offer pearls until the cup was already sealed. Veg ingredients in the banh mi were fresh and meat quality was fine, but the portioning of the latter and the generously-sized-but-not-so-crusty bread wouldn’t match Eden Center’s grade.

A Banh Mi shop not far from me so I decided to give it a shot. I went during lunch time, which surprisingly was EMPTY. I’m not sure why, but that’s not a good sign. Anyway, on to the food… I got a sandwich with pork as the protein. The bread was fresh and appetizing. But I personally felt like the meat was lacking in portion. The toppings were plenty but it just didn’t do it for me when it came down to the ratio of meat to toppings. Price wise was standard for this area, about $ 7(much cheaper at Eden), but that’s to be expected. As my rating goes, this place was just A-OK. It just didn’t hit the spot for me. I might give it another try and update my review, but for now, 3 stars is appropriate. I’ll post the picture of the sandwich I got. You be the judge!

//LOCATION\\ Same plaza as IHOP and Long & Fosters. You can’t see it from the street so just look out for these or the 7 Eleven. It’s along the back sandwiched between Phở 95 and Yasaman. //FOOD\\ Heed the other Unilocaler’s advice about getting extra meat. The bread itself is about a foot long so it *looks* big, but they skimp on the meat and go heavy on the pickled veg. The veg are cut in big chunks, while the meat is very thinly sliced. Normally I have trouble eating a 6″ sandwich, here I can eat the entire sandwich without sharing. It’s not a balanced ratio, and the bread(the most important detail in a Viet sandwich) is not that great. I don’t know if I’m coming at the wrong time or on the wrong day, but the bread was neither toasted nor crispy. It was definitely soft straight from the counter. I had the B1, which is the standard«special combo» at most places. It was a bit on the sweet side and the flavor profile is subtle. The paté tastes like it’s made in-house, you can taste the spices. But the bread and lack of meat let the whole sandwich down for me. I guess it’s not a bad alternative if I don’t want to drive all the way to VA. Although at $ 4.50-$ 6.50 compared to what you normally get in other Viet sandwich places, I dunno. They have a good option of drinks(smoothies/bubble teas) and Che. They also have some desserts like flan($ 3) and sticky rice in the fridge. //SPACE\\ It’s small so don’t expect to be able to sit down if you come with a big group of people. However, the space is bright and airy, though feels a little sparse. Overall, not great, but I like the idea of more places like this popping up closer to home.

About a 2 – 2.5: I spotted Mr. Banh Mi when I was in the plaza to pick up some drinks at a bubble tea place nearby; I’d heard that Mr. Banh Mi offered some pretty good banh mi sandwiches, so I was pretty excited in checking them out. I tried their beef, which came with sliced pickled carrots/radish, sliced jalapenos, and a very small amount of the marinated beef — the veggies could have been more pickled, and the beef was overly sweet. It reminded me ever-so-slightly of bulgogi, but more heavier on the sugar. The bread was pretty disappointing, as it was soggy and not fresh. I also tried their honeydew milk tea with little bubble, as there was a 10% off on a bubble tea; the honeydew milk tea itself was just overly sweet. I was a little sad that they didn’t use fresh honeydew, but instead, it tasted way too artificial/powdery T___T The tapioca balls themselves were also gummy and coagulated T___T Service was semi-friendly, and I wasn’t really surprised that there were no other patrons when I walked in… I’m glad I tried out Mr. Banh Mi, but will not be back! +small portion of meat in banh mi sandwiches T____T +soggy/stale bread T____T +artificial-tasting flavored milk teas T___T +semi-friendly staff T____T +10% discount on bubble teas with a Unilocal check-in

Two words: painfully delicious! I had the B1 Bahn Mi. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The bread was s crispy that every bite was painful. My hard palette was telling me to stop, but the rest of body was screaming«shut up hard palette and eat». IMO, without any hot sauce, the Bahn Mi is a little stale however with hot sauce it is the boom! The hot sauce gave it a little kick and it let the cold cut meat taste come out more. I also got a large taro bubble tea. Unlike most bubble teas, this one was not too sweet. It had the right amount of sweetness to it. The bobba was a little too soggy/soft for my taste but otherwise everything else was perfect! They have a large selection of bubble teas so I will definitely come back to try the other favors. They also have a great variety of smoothies. I am a mango addict/fanatic and right now they have a mango madness. I will most definitely, no doubt, come back for that!
