I trained with RFF to prepare for the November 2013 Philadelphia Marathon. I had a fantastic experience with them. Not only did I achieve a PR and reach my sub-4 hour marathon goal, I had an excellent training experience and an amazingly easy post-marathon recovery. I worked with Julie and Lisa as «virtual coaches,» but the quality of support and interaction never felt virtual. I received monthly detailed training schedules, as well as advice on nutrition and strength training. With my long term goals in mind, they modified the monthly training schedule based on my schedule(e.g., vacation schedule, shorter races, etc.) and other factors(e.g., race results). They always made themselves available to talk and answered emails — it seemed — before I finished writing them! Both coaches offer a wonderful combination of technical running knowledge and motivational skills. They were able to answer a whole range of questions or refer you to people who could answer the question. For example, midway through the training I was experiencing some hip pain. They referred me to an excellent PT and adjusted my training accordingly. After incorporating some exercises, I was back to my full schedule within a week. I had no trouble the remainder of the training or during the marathon. I highly recommend RFF. Whether you are just getting into running, preparing for your first race, or an experienced runner looking to improve your times and approach, you will benefit greatly!
