What is may lack in atmosphere they make up in quality of food! I love this place and will be bringing the family. The staff was extremely considerate and accommodating!

Ate for the first time here today and spent 50 $ on takeout very disappointed. French fries– not very crisp kinda soggy with grease. Baked beans– sauce was ok but I think the beans weren’t cooked fully they were quite firm Mac n cheese– HORRIBLE I think they even used the pasta water with the cheese mix it smelled SO starchy Brisket– ok but VERYFATTY Ribs– ok… Not great but not horrible Toast– it’s toast Sauce– it’s ok, a bit watery? Like its not very thick On the upside they have signs that they’re hiring for all positions???

My husband and I came here and we’re not going back. I’m giving one star because of the service but the food wasn’t very good. After a half hour leaving the place my husband had to pull the car over and threw up. I wish I could say I would like to come back but not after had what happened.

Ate at Route 66 because it still looked busy after the Sunday lunch crowd had died down. Never been there before and we were out-of-towners. The waitresses were wonderful, patient and helpful while we tried to make up our minds as to what to order. Ended up with the brisket and ribs and loved them both! Also tried 5 different sides. Our favorites were the yams, baked beans, and mac and cheese. Creative and tasteful décor, not fancy, but BBQ comfortable. We will definitely be going back!

Have eaten at this BBQ joint twice now. Food & service is very good. New twist to the ribs this time. We loved it. Fall off the bone BBQ chicken. Servings are large. You don’t leave hungry!

Tried this place within a few weeks of moving to the neighborhood and we seem to find our way there at least once a month. Easy walk from home or Sat. mkt. meats are delicious WITHOUT sauce, good solid coleslaw and other sides. Helpful friendly service and they welcome our pup on the patio! What could be better? Fried pies! if you’ve got room! or get em to go!

Wife and I went for the first time. Wait staff were all great with excellent attention to our needs. The brisket, ribs, pork AND sausage were all excellent. My favorite was the fried okra. I could have eaten it until I fell over. My wife said all the sides we had were very good. Her opinion of the mac and cheese(she is a fanatic) was that it was not ‘Bobby Flay throw down’ but it was definitely a cut above the rest she’s had. I recommend this place and we will add it to our group of restaurants. Oh, and they have lots of parking.

My family and I went for dinner on a Friday, the atmosphere was very casual and comfortable. We all love BBQ so we were excited to try a new place. I got the brisket plate. It was moist and tasty, good smoked flavor and not fatty. My daughters tried pulled pork and sausage. They said it was good. My husband got ribs, he said they were good too. They looked a little dry and not much meat on them, but that’s why I don’t get ribs! For side I got French fries and cole slaw. The fries were hot and crispy. The cole slaw was very good, not a lot of mayo, just a nice light dressing on it and very fresh tasting. My family got green beans, Mac and cheese and baked beans. They all said they were fine, although my daughter being a Mac n cheese snob wasn’t too impressed with it. The plates come with Texas toast which was good and hot. I usually order a beer, but didn’t see it on the menu and never asked. But the info says no alcohol. I will be back, but may take it to go so I can have a beer at home lol.

I really like the feel of this restaurant! Lots of stuff to look at around you, art, pictures, hanging bikes. trikes! Great design… very cool! They have several sodas they serve out of glass bottles. I’m not a soda drinker but I like the idea! With this I really wanted to love the place. They start you with fried corn bread which was a little dry but I ate mine quickly along with the other two pieces from my kiddos. First question I ask the server«is the macaroni creamy or dry?» «It’s thick» she replies… with that I should have known better. Anyway, I order the massive meat platter with Green Beans & Mac & Cheese as my side options. The meat plate comes with 3 Ribs(my 5 year old daughter loved them but to me they seemed dry with very little meat) Brisket(Pretty good, tender and descent flavor) Pulled Pork(A little on the dry side but flavor was good) Chicken(slightly dry but tender with good flavor) and finally Sausage(nothing really to right home about. just basic sausage). Overall the meats were fairly good. Sides– The green beans had no flavor and they seemed to be broken and mashed up quite a bit. The Mac & Cheese, I’m sorry but dried absorbed noodles with a little bit of leftover cheese hanging from them! THICK… ok. Finally in the end I was charged double for tax which was an accident I’m sure, but I“m glad I caught it! Everyone was very pleasant and I really had no other problems. Lots of potential!!! But they really need to pick up their game in the food department! Gordon Ramsay, wanna come for a visit?

Delicious barbeque with a friendly staff and fair price. The ribs are a bit skimpy but the food’s delicious.

Went here on a rainy Sunday afternoon about 1 p.m. for takeout. I’m very particular about my BBQ. This place was OK. Not outstanding but tasty and good portions. Ordered ribs, brisket and sausage. Brisket was the better choice. They need a new supplier for the sausage. It wasn’t very good at all. Ribs were pretty good. Sides were so-so. This is not a loser but can use some improvement. They are in a great downtown location and we will go back and try it again and if so will up my score. It is worth trying.

Everyone in Texas should be a BBQ critic. But as you see when you pull up, this is Memphis style BBQ, so it will be a little different than what Texans are used to. Food was decent. I had the rib and brisket combo. Brisket looked a little shiny when brought out. It was fork tender. The reason is looked shiny was they pulled the top layer of fat off leaving a thin film of fat. Manager brought me some more slices so I could have it with some fat left on this time. Both were good, but I’ve had better. The ribs had a good outside, with a lot of flavor. Meat came right off the bone. You can get the ribs with a dry rub or sauced. Service was good. I’d stop by again if I’m ever in this area.

I really liked this place! The rub on the chicken was so flavorful. My husband had the 3 meat combo and he raved about the brisket, pulled pork and sausage. The collard greens were very good. The yams could have been more sweeter(vanilla flavoring goes a long way). My finicky son had hamburger and he gobbled it up, that reason alone is enough to go back. This place is better than soul man’s and the ‘pink pig’ place. Honestly if you want better barbque, drive 20 miles to pecan lodge. Otherwise this place is worth a visit.

First off I really wanted to like this place. However… It was awful and not worth the price. I had the pork an coleslaw sandwich… the pork was good but the slaw was bland and the sauce was nothing special. My daughter had the sausage and ribs. The ribs were so dry and the sausage was ok. She had a side of Mac and cheese and green beans. The Mac and cheese was simply greasy noodles with cheese melted on top very inedible. I will not be going back.

Had the pulled pork plate. The meat was smoked really really well. It was great. The sides I could do better with my eyes closed. The sauce is definitely bottled and nothing to brag about but at least they warm it up. If go again because the pork was smoke perfectly
