DiFiore’s raviolis & sauces are mind-blowing, and their fresh pastas & prepared meals are very good as well. They even have a chart to help pick out a sauce to pair with your ravioli. Some of their sauces would be great for other types of meals as well — there aren’t too many places selling au poivre, and DiFiore’s is great. Good sandwiches, too. I just found out that you can substitute a portobello mushroom for the meat in any sandwich. Nice! Friendly staff. They also have a nice variety of oils, breads, etc.

I have to say first and foremost that I want to like this place very much, and I for sure want to keep going back for lunch takeout and dinner items to cook at home. There is a lot to love. A bright, modern looking Italian shop tucked away in a Rocky Hill strip mall, filled with a lot of gems you can’t find at your local grocery store. Lord knows you can’t bottle your own olive oil or balsamic vinegar at Stop & Shop. I’ve been a handful of times thus far and have tried a few different things. My favorite has been the portobello mushroom ravioli. I paired it with the Marsala cream sauce which turned out to be good. Just go easy on the sauce; it’s extremely rich. Almost tasted like the Marsala hadn’t completely reduced as I could still taste a little alcohol in the sauce. The eggplant parm sandwich had good flavor and a good sauce, but by the time I got back to my office which is 2 minutes away it was cold and mushy. Just today I got the Sandawicha Italiana and was a bit perplexed. I guess I’m used to the traditional Italian hoagie as I’m from south jersey. I expected a cold Italian ‘grinder’ but got what tasted exactly like a warm Muffuletta. However, this had whole leaf lettuce and a handful of tomatoes. I just don’t know how anyone in their right mind can put lettuce on a sandwich, then heat it up. It always ends up wet, wilted and disgusting. While again, I wanted to love this, I just couldn’t get passed the insane amount of sodium this sandwich packed with the combination of cured meat and olive dressing.

I’m so happy this pasta shop opened in Rocky Hill! Even though I live on the west coast, it’s only about 10 minutes from my parents’ house and this will be a go-to spot of mine whenever I’m in town. We ordered a spinach lasagna from here for part of our Christmas dinner and it was delicious and tasted so fresh. I also just bought some cannolis for a gathering with friends tomorrow, and I’m hoping they’ll be just as good! Their prepared foods looked delicious and my dad is excited to try their chicken cutlets. They seem to have a great variety of olive oils to choose from too. It’s definitely a neat little shop, I only wish they had some tables so you could sit down to eat some of the food immediately — it all looks great!

My fiancé works down the street and brought this home one night for dinner. The penne alla vodka is fabulous along with the meatballs and sweet sausage. Their prepared dinners are great too, we tried the salmon and roasted pork. Its a new favorite in our house! Can’t wait to try more of their products.

I can’t say much for this location because I haven’t been to it yet(I live about 30 miles away), but I can vouch for the Htfd location whole heartedly. I have been going to that location for years and the pasta dishes, breads, and prepared foods in the display case have always been fantastic. My favorite is the large cheese raviolis .Get a dozen of those with some sauce and some of that crusty bread and you got yourself a great meal on a low budget. The prepared chicken cutlets and fried eggplant are awesome too! To Irene, family and staff, I miss seeing my friend Andy sitting in his chair on the left as you walk in. I always had good conversations with him when I came in to purchase stuff. Greg A From HFD retired

Thank you for coming to Rocky Hill! I’ve tried several of the prepared foods, and I can’t say one bad word. Food tastes great, prices are reasonable(not saying it’s cheap), and service has always been good. Love this place when I need something quick and delicious.

Never had meatballs so bad than here! Asked for fresh mozzarella, not sure what I got! Only one in there and it took close to 15 mins. They don’t serve drinks, so you need to stop at another place. It’s all take out, with the size they could have had some tables. Not going back for meatballs that’s for sure!

I’ve been watching this location for the opening of another prepared food location eagerly, and at the Coventry farmers market is when I finally realized that this was being opened by DiFiore. I have gone at least 5 times at this point and I’ve not been disappointed with any of my selections. The quality remains great for lobster ravioli, meat ravioli and sauces. We like penne vodka. From their prepared foods I’ve gotten risotto and stuffed peppers. I disagree with the previous reviewers assessment offer ally– I thought they were very good and obvious they use veal in the mix– I definitely put the food as good or better than the take out/dine in of surrounding Italian restaurants. On average I can feed two adults one small child for $ 15 – 20, and I know some of which would cost me more in ingredients with wasted left overs. My recommendations are definitely try the chefs specials in the back counter and fresh pasta. I’m hopeful as speed picks up with the location and greater demand for this style of take out, we’ll see the front coolers fill up with even more choices. And I’m hopeful for the holiday menu.

Beautiful Brand New Rocky Hill location of a Beloved Hartford Establishment. Filled with freshly made pasta, prepared foods, sauces, olive oil and Italian Staples. Very friendly attentive staff. Great place to stop and grab a nice dinner to quickly heat up at home. Tried the Penne alla Vodka pasta had great texture. Package was enough for two. Sauce was flavorful. I like onions if you don’t you might not like this Vodka sauce has nice little chunks of onion and tomato. I also purchased a large stuffed artichoke… haven’t eaten that yet though. Overall I think this is a great addition to Rocky Hill and I plan to go back again soon once they have completely gotten into the swing of things… since there were some things I want to try but they weren’t available the time…
