What can i say i wish i had more time to visit this store. The owner willie is a great guy, he always hooks it up with extra bait. But the best thing about this shop is that he repairs broken fishing poles, not to mention he does amazing custom fishing rods..

Finding good fishing bait is increasingly harder to find. Fortunately, there’s Surf City Anglers in Rodeo. A rare place to get fresh, live bait on a weekend. This small shop also sells reels, tackle and custom rods. Very difficult to find good custom rods in the bay area. The guys working here are very cool and know their stuff when it comes to fishing. Parking is free and easy.

Just bumped into this place since I practice drumming around the corner. Picked up my lucky rattle trap here. They didn’t have the exact one but close to it. Dude behind the counter was cool as hell. He’s got enough stuff to get ya going that’s for shure. As far as the local fishing scene, I got skunked fishing Rodeo flats about ½ mile out. The damn thing is what it is… Flat! About 15 – 20 ft. Forever. Fished the first drop off we found on live bullhead and nothing. Redeemed myself in Vallejo an hour later off the rattle trap I got from here, 22″ and 18″ striper.

I thought these guys went out of business but last month they were still there under new ownership. Bunch of gregarious filipino guys and they still do custom rods. Store was a bit understocked with lots of floor space but the products look legit. They do have bait and is a good destination for that. Before they had a good complement of stuff for the the Bay Area fishing scene and they knew the Hercules Rodeo area.
