My wife had never had a Mongolian bar before so I thought I would surprise her. The interior was clean with sparse decorations. It seemed like it would be a draw for hipsters(thankfully, there were only one table full of them with their knit caps and goofy beards). My wife was confused by the menu. There were appetizers listed but it was vague on the main dishes. I started to explain to my wife how a Mongolian bar worked right as the waitress showed up. I guess she picked up on our conversation so she asked us if it was our first time there. She then proceeded to give us a very detailed account on how everything worked, including the different size bowls. My wife and I both chose the size bowls that we wanted and headed to the bar. There were a pretty good selection of proteins. They had a couple of types of chicken such as Sriracha or garlic-lime. There was also beef, crab, squid, pepperoni, and a few others that I can’t remember. Next it was time for vegetables. I had filled my bowl with different meats so I was doing my best to smoosh everything down so I could get a few mushrooms and onions in there. There were a pretty good selection but my bowl was full. About a dozen different spices were displayed next. There were actually a few of them that I have heard about before. Yay for me! Finally we get to the end of the bar where the sauces are kept. There are little plastic spoons so you can try the different sauces. I made my way through a few of them until I found a winner. It was called Dragon-something or the other. It had a bite to it. We took our raw materials to the chefs, told them what kind starch we wanted and watched them for a few minutes. After we got the gist of how they were cooking, we headed back to our table. The waitress brought out our completed dishes and my wife and I both realized that we had way too much food. I also realized that the Sriracha chicken and the dragon sauce makes for a very spicy meal. Listen, if you’ve never eaten at a Mongolian bar then you should really try it. It’s nice to have complete control of your dish. You know exactly what goes into it so you can really have fun playing around with different combinations.

Rotten squid… Rude waiter… What more could you ask?! That said, the manager was very nice and professional in handling the bad squid.

Great food! They give you the bowl and you can mix up the ingredients any way you like. There’s no wrong way to go. The folks are real friendly and helpful. Very casual and laid-back environment.

Love Genghis Grill but this one is just not up to par. Service is slow and the meat was burned because it stayed on the grill too long. Will probably come back at a different time during the day and give it a second chance.

We were seated and waited over 10 minutes for our waitress to come to the table. I even had to ask the hostess where our waitress was. The place was not crowded so there’s no excuse. When she finally came to our table she had no pep or happiness. She acted like we were inconveniencing her by being there. The drinks had little to no ice in them. Too expensive for burnt food. The tables, floor, and booths are dirty. Nobody in that place smiles or says hi to you. It’s just a dull atmosphere. Good things: The music was good.

I don’t think the concept is a good idea, too much room for human error, especially with choosing the quantity of your own seasonings. Those inexperienced with cooking wouldn’t have any way of knowing the right amount. Plus, how much salt is in some of them? I was worried the dish would come out too salty, so I was incredibly cautious with what I chose. Also, the protein section seems too vulnerable to unsanitary conditions. The tongs felt a little greasy, and incited nervous thoughts I didn’t want to have before I eat a meal. Not to mention, the crammed together atmosphere. A more than half empty restaurant, and the hostess sat us next to a large group, which was sitting at a tall table with bar stools. It felt as though they were towering over us. When asked if we could have a table adjacent, she unsurely stated it had already been taken, and made no suggestions of the many other empty tables nearby. The waiter informed us they were short staffed. He was the one redeeming factor to this experience. Very kind and accommodating.(Damon #1). I’m sure if we had put up a fuss about the table, he would’ve moved us. Someone came by to clean the area the large party had just occupied next to us for more than 5 minutes just about as loudly, and inconsiderately as he could, banging and scraping chairs along the floor continuously, even sweeping beneath the very table we were eating at. It felt like he was hovering so closely, that it almost seemed like I had an audience to our conversation. We joked over the possibility of being in a candid camera show. I know he was only trying to do his job, but clearly wasn’t aware of his surroundings, nor the perception of those around him. I won’t go back. It’s just not worth it. Overall, I think it is too overpriced for what it is. I gave 2 stars instead of one because the dish itself turned out OK.

The food was good, but the service was nonexistent. The waitress avoided our table after we initially ordered our drinks. Work on customer service and I’ll be happy to come back.

interesting concept ! You get a bowl, you pile on the meats you want, you put in the seasonings you want, add all the veggies you can, include the sauce you want in a small bowl provided along with the larger bowl you had been given and finally, select the starch(noodles or rice) and pass it on to the person who works on a Hibachi like grill with the stuff you have given him/her. The difficult part though is that it is very easy to mess this up since everything is selected by you. If the food is under seasoned or too salty, you are to blame and if a certain combination did not work, its again your fault. I was too adventurous and ended up mixing Teriyaki sauce with the Dragon sauce and this combination was terrible. My wife tried just the dragon sauce and it wasn’t too bad. The problem though is that no one on our table had really outstanding food so maybe none of us got our selections right or average food is just about the best you can achieve here. I am now aware that there are a few franchises of this place closer to where I live. Had I known this earlier, I would probably not have visited this place in Bentonville. I do want to give this franchise another shot so I might try one of these places and try to get my selections right in the hope of getting an excellent meal.

Guess I’m not a fan. Over priced adult beverages. The meals don’t arrive at your table at the same time. There was over a 5 min difference between 2 nearly identical meals, placed at the same time. Unless you know something about oriental food & cooking, it sort of seemed like a crap shoot as to whether what you were assembling would actually taste any good. I did make it through unscathed but, was it luck? I probably won’t go back.

fresh grill= yum! I am always appreciative when I can find somewhere local to eat that has healthy choices(don’t get me wrong, I’m all about a unhealthy meal that tastes great-lol) but on a daily basis I need healthy. Gengis can be healthy and easy. P. s. ask for Josh R the server, he is awesome

Service was below expectations, took drink order and had food at table before drinks. Drinks had little to no alcohol in them across the board. Food wasn’t good, chicken came out very chewy and beef was the same. Good concept and flavors were actually good, but overall not happy with my experience and will not be coming back. Left 90% of my bowl unbeaten and picked up pizza on the way home! I’d stay away.

I get food poisoning every time I eat here. Leaving raw meat out in the open? Yeah that sounds like a good idea.

Ate there again today and was disappointed for the 1st time. Only 2 people on the grill, food was charred on 1 side. Not packed but good crowd, hostess tried to seat my wife and I by 2 tables with crying babies. When we said too noisy she tried to put us next to a group of 10 there for business lunch???

Good food and fresh, healthy choices. Maybe it’s just us, but we seem to always get the strangest, quirkiest servers every time we go there. I hope it is the training they get from their management team… but maybe they draw straws when they see me coming.

Slow service… I had to ask for the status of my single bowl after almost 30 minutes… way overcooked food… good flavor, but that is all I can say good really. I even told the waitress that I couldn’t have the starch as it says on the menu to let the staff know, however she didn’t give me the option of having cabbage instead, so for $ 10, after they cooked the food to disintegration, I ended up with maybe 8 – 10 bites. Yeah…a disapppintment overall.

I really like the flavor of the food, but not a fan at all of the atmosphere. It is much too crowded. The menu has expanded & improved since they opened, and they finally have everything down to a science. I can’t have rice or pasta, so I talked to the manager & instead of a starch, they will cook a bowl of shredded cabbage in with your meal to give you more bulk(much healthier alternative!). The first 2 times I went, this was quite a challenge for the cooks, but now they totally get it. Apparently I’m not the only one opting for cooked cabbage instead of carbs. I have got a bowl created that I love, but that isn’t easy to do, especially on your first trip. We LOVE Hu Hot in Fayetteville — Hu Hot will allow unlimited trips to the«buffet» for about the same price as Genghis Grill’s single trip. The $ 5 unlimited option at Genghis is a bit steep, I think. Also, nice thing about Hu Hot is that if you make a bowl you hate, they encourage you to just toss it out & try again. No-can-do at Genghis unless you buy the unlimited trip option.

We wanted to try Genghis Grill for the first time last friday night. Went there. stood just inside the door waiting to be seated(as the sign said).waited for more than10 mins. no one came by… it was not like the restaurant was full and the waiters were super busy. they were just standing around and was looking at us every now and then. finally decided that it was not worth it. in fact no restaurant is worth that kind of service. we’d rather drive to fayetteville and go to Hu-Hot.never going back to Genghis Grill again. one star.

$ 7 for a draft beer??? I take back my prior 4 star bar. Nope-more like no star. I still like the food. We went for dinner this time and therefore had drinks. My husband ordered a large draft-nothing special, just Bud Light. I opted for the Dragonfly-a drink for two with over 8oz of alcohol in it. per the bartender. Ya, I didn’t share. Dinner is ten bucks a bowl. Our drinks were more than the meal. I figured I would pay a lot for my drink-$ 15 in fact but the large draft was $ 6.99!!! What? For 12 or 16oz glass at most. I was floored and raised a little hell with the bartender. No prices are listed on the menu so before you order a drink… ASKHOWMUCHITCOST or better yet, stick to water and drink elsewhere. Complete ripoff. BTW, I didn’t even catch a buzz on the so called fishbowl drink for two.

My wife and I want so much to like this place, but they keep making it hard. The food is very very good, but the service has some serious issues. First time we went it was 20 minutes before a waiter came to our table to ask for drinks. The second time we went our waiter introduced himself then never came back to our table. We had to stop him after we ate and ask him to bring us our check. He looked surprised when we asked him forte bill as if he thought someone else was helpings. Very disappointed. We’ll go back, but if we get service like the two previos times, it will be our last trip.

I just tried the new Genghis Grill in Rogers next to the Promenade Mall, and was very pleased with the experience. In fact I violated one of my typical rules for eating out — «don’t go to a restaurant during its first week of opening».(I prefer to let restaurants work out the kinks which come with opening any new business.) That said, I went with 5 other colleagues and was impressed with the Grill’s speed of service and accuracy for a 6 person party. One thing that makes their set up so nice is the ability you have to customize your dish the way you want it. The food tasted very good, and I will definitely be going back.
