I called with a flat and they said to come in to repair. I arrived and they would not help because the guy who works on them wanted to go home early. It’s Saturday night and now I have to wait till Monday to get my tire fixed… I hope I can get home from the store since I have a flat. They have horrible customer service.

Poor service at best I will never go back for service there even with a 10 am. appointment long wait ! I think next time it would serve better to pay a little more for good service and coffee in the waiting area.

I’ve had my brakes done, tires, alignment and transmission fluid change all done on two separate occasions without problems with time or customer service. Anthony helped me with purchasing my tires and was a huge help through the whole process with all the questions, special ordering i needed and got me the best price for my tires. If you come to this location ask for Anthony as he will give you great customer service as well as get you exactly what you need. It’s not often you find honesty and integrity when it comes to cars but Anthony is one of these guys. Corporate office your man Anthony is taking good care of his customers unlike some of the other folks at this location according to the reviews i’ve read, so take care of him as well as he took care of me!

I usually go to Pepboys for all of my repairs and maintenance, but I won’t be coming to this one anymore.
I needed to get my brakes changed so I made an appointment for 5 o’clock the next day. Got here and was told that there isn’t anyone certified to do brakes right now. I believe he was a manager, Anthony, who told me that. He understood my frustration and that the gentleman who made the appointment with me yesterday should have told me that. So he offered a deep discount if I came in early tomorrow morning, which I did.
Came in the next day in the morning and was told that they will get to my car in 15 minutes. 15 minutes had passed and I did see someone come to do something with my car, I was busy studying in the lobby and an hour had passed and when I looked over to my car, it was parked in the same spot. I wondered if they had already finished with my car and just parked it in the same spot. But then when I asked, they said they are getting to it right now, they had just finished with the other cars. I don’t understand how 15 minutes lead to 1 hour. They definitely could have told me that in the beginning and I could have decided if I would want to wait. Anthony knew I had plans to go out of town that day which is why I wanted to come in early. And all this waiting was just for the brake inspection. The evening before he had told me everything could be done in 1.5 hours if I came the next morning. If I were to do it that morning it would have taken 1 hour of wait time, 30 minutes brake inspection, 1 hour (or more) of brake change (if I decided on it). That would have taken 2 hours and 30 minutes at the least. An hour more than how long I anticipated.
However, this was not the only time I had to wait after calling in for an appointment. Once when I wanted to get my tires changed, I called in for an appointment around 1. I asked to make an appointment for a tire change and he insisted that I just come in because they are really slow right now. Of course when I showed up after work, around 5, they were so busy that I had to wait an hour and a half for them to get to my car. It was frustrating because I didn’t understand at first how it worked. That it gets busier as the day goes by and I should make an appointment because I never know when it will get busy.
However, after my brake change situation. I now understand that even with an appointment, or words from the service specialist, that you may still have to wait. And the wait, isn’t verbally expressed to you. It happens and they apologize for it later.
In conclusion, I would love to recommend pepboys as a place to go for all of your maintenance needs, just don’t go to this location if you aren’t trying to wait 1+ hour with an appointment.

Just came here to return a couple small items and buy a few items. The cashier, Gary, was sooo unpleasant. No hello. He was abrupt, short, ignored my statement until I formed it into a question as to why I’m not able to see the items being run into the register (I wanted to see the prices that were being returned and rung up.) He did turn his screen around abruptly so I could see. I got my refund and no thank you or have a good day at all from. If I can help it I wont be going back to his register.

My check engine light came on two days ago. Being that I commute a lot I wanted to have my car checked ASAP. I was able to call on a Friday night and get my car checked first thing Saturday morning. Anthony helped me and was extremely friendly and accommodating. When the estimate of all of their recommendations came out to more than I was able to spend at the moment he was able to help me narrow it down to the most immediate concerns to ensure my car was safe to drive. It’s pretty nerve wracking to make decisions regarding your vehicle when you don’t really understand much about cars. I felt very comfortable that Anthony was steering me in the right direction. I will definitely be bringing my car back.

She had a lack of help but showed me great customer service. She helped me in everyway. Ken who worked on my car was very nice and efficient. They both answered my questions the way they knew I would understand. I will always go there for any work I may need done. I trust them and appreciate them. Thank you both for everything. I love this place. I go out of my way to get wipers and lights replaced here. The prices are great, the service is efficient and excellent. The clerks are knowledgeable, helpful, and cheerful. Phone them to get a quote on something and schedule an appointment. Or just show up and they work you in. I’m sure they get challenged when too many people show up at once, but I’ve never had a problem.

Do not take your car here! They WILL try to rip you off! I am new to the area and made the mistake of taking my car here twice, the first time I went in for an oil change and they talked me into replacing filters and way overcharged me for them.
I went back, obviously due to a major lack of judgement on my part. I went in to get my windshield wipers fixed and the man who helped me tried to convince me that I needed a new wiper motor without even turning on the car. What a joke. Clearly they make a sport of trying to rip you off if you seem like you don’t know a lot about cars. They are smug and belittle you when you ask questions.
If you are considering going here, do yourself a favor. Withdraw the maximum daily amount you are allowed by your bank’s ATM, find the nearest commode, and flush your money down the toilet.
I have never felt compelled to Unilocal about anything in my life before this, but such is the ire that i feel towards these villains.
Manny, Moe, and Jack, the original Pep Boys, would be rolling over in their graves if their comically large heads did not prevent them from doing so.

Been waiting 90 minutes now for my oil change to be finished. Today is one of my only free days and I had plans to do errands but I’ve been here coming on 2 hours now and my car just was finished. I was told 45 minutes maximum.

I’m pretty sure I was the victim of a bait-​n-​switch. I ordered a battery for my brother’s Nissan online to get the 20% discount for online battery orders. I used the code ALLTIME20. I dealt with George and he told me that the battery I ordered was for a Honda and it was their fault that someone on their end messed up with the online ordering. He said the computer ordering is «only as good as the person putting in the information» and kept saying he hates the internet and that I should have called in the order on the phone.
George was nice and apologized repeatedly, but still refused to correct the problem. He said it would «take a manager to fix it» but he didn’t want to go get one. I would have insisted but my brother got upset and said «forget it!!» and we got ripped out of the 20 plus dollars we drove 10 extra miles to save in the first place. We paid the full price of $ 121.99 instead of the $ 97.59 we should have paid. Needless to say, I don’t trust them AT ALL and will NOT be going back under any circumstances.
Also; after ordering online, we waited for a confirmation email for an hour because the site told us not to go to the store until we received their email. After that hour went by I called the store and that is how my horrible experience with George started.
If you are wise you will avoid Pep Boys stores where incompetence reigns.

What terrible service. Go to O’ Rielly’s. You can buy a headlight bulb from them and have them install it for free. Bought a bulb here this time and asked if they install. The man who rung me up was clearly put off by having to do extra work and huffed about looking, but that he would probably charge me $ 20. He told me to wait 2 minutes, then left he hanging got 15. When he finally came out he insisted it was a big job and I would have to pay. I declined and left. My bulb is a 2 minute change when you know what you’re doing, a gentleman at o’riellys did it in under 5, for free, with a good attitude. I would much rather give my business to them then these guys.

I bought a pair of tires for a couple aftermarket rims I had bought. It was a weird size but they got it the next day. I originally spoke with Destiny and then another young lady and they gave me good quotes. George wrote up the order as quoted and got things rolling! :D
Suggestion: call and make an appointment. They are either really busy or schedule their boys on forecasted workload.

I made an 8:30am appointment to get a leak in my tire fixed.
When I arrived, I was told there were two walk-​ins now ahead of my appointment… Wow. Irritating.
ESPECIALLY when that news is followed with, «It’ll be an hour before we can even look at it.»
Hm. Well, I specifically set up an early appointment to get this issue handled before work. I made that apparent when I called to make said appointment.
«There should be no issues with timing unless it’s something serious,» I was told over the phone… When I made my appointment.
…Can I keep stressing that I made an appointment?
My issue was simple enough… Just poorly handled.
Upon hearing the time frame, I questioned why the walk-​ins now had priority over my appointment. The person checking my vehicle in had no response.
I made a passive-​aggresive comment, I won’t lie.
«If I knew this is how the business operated, I would have been here right when you opened.»
Seriously, let me break this down:
8:30am appointment.
My car was finally taken into the garage around 9:45.
I waited close to another hour after that for the «about 30 minutes» I was quoted when I went to check on the timeframe.
I’m irritated because I made sure to be responsible and plan accordingly and I don’t think that, that was accomplished by both parties involved.
Customer service needs to know how to handle these situations better.
2 stars because they completed the assigned task and were compensated for that.
Unless you have more time than you know what to do with though, find a company that gives a sh* t.

Thelma place is great they have a huge selection and stuff for my race anthem are reasonably priced as well. I just bought six tires from here and got an amazing deal everyone here is great

The dispute has been resolved by pep boys keeping my money. The original cost was $ 1064 but since the ac charging machine broke, they told my they would finish when the new machine came in. They gave me the run around, the female manager lied, then the Rohnert park location told their corporate office that they performed all work AND the customer was satisfied and made no attempt to contact them. Despite several calls and periodic visits — same old story of the new machine will be here in about a week. At least I have ac now by paying a other business on top of the $ 248 the swindled from me. This was the last time I will ever deal with pep boys, and since I did not listen to other people warning me about them I found out the hard way. Car problems? Go anywhere else besides pep boys. To be safe I will not go to ANY pep boys location anywhere.

I’m never ever going there again! $ 130 for them to tell me my window needs a new regulator and couldn’t put my window up all the way!!! Are you kidding me!!! Ridiculous!!! If I could give them no stars I would. It’s highway robery. You guys definitely don’t do everything for less. I guess the one star is for SOME customer service. Pretty decent. But pretty unhappy with the «service» If you even want to call it that.

I made an appointment for an oil change for 1:00 arrived 10 minutes early and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes or an hour at the most. I arrived back at 2:00 and my car had not even been started!
I had also scheduled a smog check elsewhere which I had to cancel and I had to get my daughter to drive my son to his 3:20 appointment at DMV, where I was hoping to pick up my stickers at the same time. Based on the other reviews as well as my own experience, my only conclusion is that Pep Boys are either completely inept or that they have absolutely no respect for time or scheduling.
I cannot imagine how they can even stay in business, given the level of customer service that they operate under!
That being said, all of the employees are pleasant enough. Hence 2 stars rather than 1.
