Absolutely love the Pollo Saltado, flavor was amazing. Small little place, tables inside also out door patio. My family loves everything. The green sauce is so good and not spicy. This is located in corner across from La Salsa. Great place, nice staff.

Our family of five has been enjoying the sushi, tempura, fish, chicken and beef for at least 15 years. Saitos classical french training comes thru in the methods of each dish. He personally handles the master preparation of the sushi. The wait staff are always friendly, efficient and helpful. We visit most weeks and enjoy the consistency of food preparation over the years. From the simple of rice to the complex of crème Brulee and more. Many special appetizers are on the special menu. A treasure for all of us.

Get this sushi in your belly, NOW! We had plans to go for dinner on Christmas eve, but one of our guests was having trouble getting around. Saito, the owner/chef, kindly cancelled our reservation, and prepared an amazing meal to go for us. Saito goes to the fish markets in town on a daily basis, so you know what you’re getting is fresh. The spicy tuna rolls are filled with actual, verifiable tuna, not some mushed up fish paste that you see at a lot of places. The tako-su(octopus salad) was phenomenal, as was the white fish sashimi. We had asked for halibut with ponzu sauce, but he didn’t have any that day. Whatever the actual fish was called was lost in translation, but none-the-less it was delectable, and melted in your mouth. Not sure if things have changed with the service, based on others’ reviews, but I have always had a superb experience at Inaka.

This is one of only two Japanese restaurant in the PV area and it is NOT worth going to. I ordered sweet shrimp sushi there once and they gave me ONE piece of sweet shrimp cut it down the middle and placed them on two pieces of sushi rice. Not to mention, the restaurant’s Omakase(sushi selection decided by the chef) was nearly twice the price of other restaurants whom had the same, if not better, selection of sushi and sashimi. This restaurant is ridiculous.

I used to like Inaka… Even though there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Torrance/Gardena, having Inaka in Palos Verdes was nice because of their proximity, cleanliness, fresh food & nice service. I recently came here last week when I was craving sushi and I got majorly disappointed. Once fresh sushi/sashimi was not fresh at all! I could already tell by the way it looked but when I tasted it, oh no… It wasn’t just the fish because the rice in the sushi was beyond terrible! It broke apart in chunks and felt more like the Chinese dry rice rather than the moist sushi rice texture. Also, only two tables were filled at the restaurant but the only server lady was so slow! What happened to this place!

Inaka has been a neighbor or my family’s business for years. I haven’t been there in about a year, so I can’t speak on their current state of affairs, but in the past it has been some of the best sushi I have ever had. Saito is highly trained, and will offer customers his selections, omakase, of the day. He makes an excellent Tako-su(octopus salad with cucumbers), and an amazing halibut sashimi with ponzu sauce. Don’t stick just with sushi, there are excellent choices all over the menu. I really like their beef sukiyaki. The broth is the perfect combo of sweet & savory. High quality lean beef, glass noodles, enoki mushrooms and more. The teriyaki sauce is made from scratch, and is, again, the perfect combo of sweet & savory. Whenever I come back to RPV for a visit, I make sure to stop and visit Inaka. My partner, Rik, who is food snob from the Napa area, agreed that this was one of the better sushi dinners he had ever eaten. Looking forward to my next visit Saito!

Overall not bad good prices… friendly a little bright… the food is fresh disappointed with the rainbow roll not having crabmeat inside. but the flavor was still good… Staff was very friendly even though their English wasn’t the best the job still got done and we were able to communicate! Hot green tea and edamame on the house!

Came here last October only because I found out the other sushi restaurant down the street is closed. And sure enough, sushi rice is still bland. On top of that, the waitress got my friend’s order wrong. Specially with their overpriced menu, I feel like it is a waste. The only good thing about this place is that it’s across the street from my work. It’s convenient. Other than that, I feel that they’re riding on that convenience since it’s the only sushi restaurant on that side of the hill. I have no problem driving downhill to Fusion Sushi on PCH any day.

I ordered the Teryaki Chicken dinner, $ 13.00!!! I ended eating mostly rice. Their miso soup is horrible, to much seaweed. Teryaki sauce was to thin. I ordered white meat chicken, it was dark and totally fatty. And also only one waitress, totally slow service. Also, don’t go to sushi places on Thursdays, because they get there fresh fish on friday. You want a good chicken teryaki go to Black Bamboo.

I admit that I’m no Japanese food expert, but I’m still surprised to see so many negative reviews. I absolutely love this place! Being vegan, there are very few menu items I can order, but even with a limited selection I’m never disappointed! My absolute favorite is the fried tofu appetizer that’s sometimes on the specials board. It’s enough to share and it is DELICIOUS. I am also a fan of the vegetable tempura, which is served in a huge portion. Everyone who works there is so nice, especially the man behind the sushi counter. And the restaurant is so cute! It really is a hidden gem in the back of the Peninsula Center. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Prices are a little more on the steep side compared to other places not too far away, but here is some indicators: Staff actually speaks Japanese, and the Sushi Chef is Japanese — good sign Most of the patrons are not asian — hmmm maybe americanized japanese? The restaurant was amenable to make a Misoyaki Black Cod for the wife, and it wasnt a menu option, and the food quality was actually pretty good. So if you are on the hill and craving Japanese, then you will probably wont be disappointed, if you plan that you will pay a slight premium.

Dropped by Inaka for the first time for a weekday dinner. The restaurant used to be fairly busy during lunch when I passed by it, but when I went inside, it was completely empty. The sushi chef gave us a friendly«We’ve been waiting for you!»(he literally said that) and gestured to a table. Looking at the menu, I realized everything was pretty pricey. Udon Nabe was $ 24.50! :O Almost everything here will cost $ 15+ We got the mackerel dinner($ 12.50-the only thing besides the chicken teriyaki to cost below $ 15) and the unaju(grilled eel bowl $ 15.95! T_T) You get salad, which was a refreshing mixed greens with ginger-lemon dressing, and miso soup that was darker and more potent than most miso soup I’ve had. We also go a small scoop of potato salad, pickled radish, and a broccoli with each of our dinners. Pretty bland.
The eel bowl was smaller than expected and the fish didn’t have much meat to eat off of. The eel sauce was good but I don’t think you can really mess up eel bowl sauce. The mackerel was just… bland. I felt bad that they were doing so poorly, but the inside is clean and service is courteous and friendly. The prices are way too high for me to want to dine here again though – maybe they can offer better deals and more customers would come. Good luck!

i honestly have no idea why inaka recieved such low ratings. I am a fond customer of inaka and have been going there for over 5 years. The sushi is always fresh, Saito, the sushi owner always has fresh selections. The atmosphere is quite comfortable with very friendly waiters. Although when its busy, the servers may forget something here and there, who wouldnt? the food is always good. try the soft shell crab, tempura and beef combo, or the spciy tuna roll

I lived in Palos Verdes for 10 years. I now live out of the area, however I will never stop eating at Inaka. It is a little pricey, but if you enjoy quality sushi then this is your place. I sit at the sushi bar, and just let the chef take me on his own adventure. I always get treated to new things I have never tasted and the familiar things always taste amazing. I rarely order from the menu, as I love sushi, but many friends and family have enjoyed menu items. My brother likes the teriyaki beef and tempura combination box. Some of my favorites, if in season, are his Spanish Mackerel, Marinated Halibut, and the Sweet Shrimp(ama-ebi) Also try the fresh tempura octopus and the soft shell crab they are to die for! And he hands down has the best spicy tuna! None of that mashed up stuff, chopped chunks of fresh tuna with his own spicy sauce… Incredible!!!

I came here for dinner, as it was close to one of my client’s office. It was the closest Japanese restaurant in the area so a coworker and myself decided to give it a try. What I ordered: Tofu Salad: Not bad, not good. Nothing really to write about. Unfortunately, this was the best dish I had this night. Scallops: Sushi style. The scallops tasted and looked like they were purchased from a Trader Joe’s frozen package, not very impressed. Not recommended. Toro: Sushi style. Probably the worst toro I have ever tasted. Granted, it is not bad for tuna, but when you are paying the price for toro, you expect a certain quality and taste. I did not get the buttery smooth consistency I usually get from toro. The little sections were falling apart from each other when the sushi reached my plate. Chilean Seabass: The seabass is grilled and served with a potato salad, pickled carrots, and some Japanese radishes. About 10 minutes after ordering, the waitress asked me from across the room«Did you want ponzu or teriyaki sauce?» Kind of odd how she had to yell it across 3 tables, versus coming directly to my table and asking me. I opted for the ponzu sauce. When it arrived, I basically got two thin pieces of seabass smothered in ponzu. The fish was slightly overdone and tasted a little old. I’ve made better grilled seabass(non-chilean) from Quality Seafood. My coworker also ordered a crème brûlée. It was odd how it came with what looked like strawberry jam over it. He wasn’t happy after finishing it and his exact words were«This is what I get for ordering crème brûlée at a Japanese restaurant». Overall, the service was nothing great. My coworker and I placed our empty glasses of water at the edge of the table and the waitresses walked by several times and seemed to not notice. We had to get their attention to get a refill. My bill came out to $ 68. If it wasn’t so expensive, I would’ve probably given them 2 stars. But for the price, I expect a lot more in terms of food and service. I would stay away, there are many more choices in the South Bay for Japanese food.
