I got this response, which tells me a lot about the hotel’s management philosophy. Based on the response, I’ve lowered my rating to 1 star. No chance I’d ever stay here again. «I refer to your Survey for your stay on April 21, 2015. The Front Desk was there to accomodate your needs, and she rightly pointed out that the Front of the Hotel that you were assigned was on the East side of the Hotel. — She did accommodate you on the West side as you requested, and We are surprised at your comments that you found it weird that she«looked At You” — and that she did not want to make the extra effort on the Computer. The Trucks that you mentioned in the Parking Lot were not from Next Door(I Think), and You had opened the Door you would have noticed that They were Norfolk Southern Trucks.(there were Signs on the Door of All the Trucks) and they were all staying at the Property — If you had mentioned that there were people shouting at that time with total disregard for other guests, We would Immediately have taken care of this. Additionally please note that the Business next Door is not a Construction Comapay that You Thought. There were Guests from this Hotel that had to go to Work that«Retrieved the Vehicles» from the Parking Lot. The Shower that You have mentioned ancient are the approved ones that have been placed in the Rooms, and there We do not have«What I would Call«a Fire Hose to Pressure Setting — The towels in the Room are Not 20 years old. The Sinks were Installed to the Normal Setting, and we do not understand your comments. Our Toilets are the Gerber Standard, and We are amazed that you had to time the Down Flow — 45 seconds. The Breakfast that We serve are According to the Set Best Western Standards. We have NO Record of you informing us of any of the above Dissatisfaction to us, to correct the situation. We endevour to Update our property and keep it updated. Sincerely, Dinesh Patel. Manager.» And here is my response to that: «Why ask for my feedback if you don’t want it? I was there for less than 15 hours from check-in to check-out, so I wasn’t going to ask for a room change, or complain during my stay, because there was no point in doing so. I’ve let you know of my dissatisfaction via the survey. I thought that’s what it was for. If you don’t wish to make any changes, that’s your choice. But claiming everything is «up to Best Western standards» and expecting that to be okay is poor management and even worse customer service. I’ve stayed at half a dozen Best Westerns in the past 2 months, and this is the first one that had very old, very high pressure shower heads, malfunctioning toilet(seriously, just go in the room and check it, it’s not working right), and such a pitiful breakfast. It’s also the first that had loud construction vehicles and workers in the parking lot(and at least one excavator actually operating in the back of the building next door, whether it’s a construction company or not) late at night and early in the morning. I did, in fact, open the door, for several minutes, and look outside. I even walked over to one of the vehicles that parked so close to another car that the driver of that car could not get into his/her vehicle. I didn’t notice any markings for«Norfolk Southern», not that it would have matter if I had, since I have no idea where they are located. They all parked next to each other, right next to the building next door where the excavator was running, so I made an assumption that might not have been correct. Regardless, your callous and uncaring response that seems more like you are mounting a defense than trying to rectify any problems your guests might have, sufficiently dissuades me from staying at Best Western in the future.»
