Came in for dinner with my sister and mom. While the service was good and waitress was friendly, the food has gone downhill. The clam chowder was watery and cold, their special prime was full of fat and bland. The other two meals were sub par also, not sure what’s going on but this place continues to go down hill. I don’t think I’ll be coming back again! 3 stars for the waitress!

Went for Easter Brunch. The food was decent but the service, yikes. This place isn’t cheap and if you charge 2.50 for a cup of coffee you should at least get a refill. Waiter came with our drinks, which is all he served us since it was a buffet, and didn’t see him again until he brought our bill. I had to ask the hostess for additional napkins and would have really liked a refill on my drink. With all the competition out there, I look for good service along with the food.

Came here today with family members, although we weren’t greeted by staff and took a while for food, the place was busy, so I understood. It was my first time at Teddy’s and I really was surprised. The burger and fries were amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely come here and yes, I will be back.

Even though I grew up in the Utica Rome area I have never been to Teddys until recently. We went for lunch and had a great time. Out server was Tony, I think, he was Scottish and was observant and treated us well. I opted for the buffet which had chicken riggies, eggplant, diabli meatballs, turkey and mashed potatoes. There was also garlic pizza and a small salad bar. Everything on the buffet was excellent and the chicken riggies were the best I have ever had. I would repeat for sure.

My mother was a big fan of Teddy’s and I had never tried it. My daughter also highly recommended their Chicken Riggies. I happened to be in Rome recently, so decided to give Teddy’s a try. The waitress suggested the Luncheon Buffet(Tues-Thurs) for $ 9.99 which featured riggies and 3 – 4 other hot items. Everything was delicious and my server was outstanding(actually recommending the cheaper buffet option, when I ordered the riggie entrée). There was also a small salad bar and a light dessert. My Mom was right and I will be back.

Service was slow and not friendly. The place had a mom and pop feel but in all honestly was out dated the stuffed bears were creepy. Food was okay at best. High prices not worth it

Onion ring and burger lovers you NEEDTOGOHERE! Though I don’t live in the area, I happened to be there last night for a family celebration and afterwards we all decided to hit up Teddy’s for dinner before heading home. It’s in one of the many strip malls in the area, so I suggest using your GPS to get there, but definitely get there. Our server was awesome. I think his name was Tom. Anyway, we started with some onion rings. Let me tell you, if you like onion rings, you HAVE to try these onion rings. They are the size of donuts, the onions inside them are huge, and the fried batter coating is delicious. They also come with a tasty honey mustard sauce. I had the Italian burger, which was cooked perfectly, great taste to the meat as well. They put peppers and onions on it, and it came on garlic bread. Delicious. I devoured it. Pricing was also totally reasonable, nice beer selection(though I didn’t drink), friendly staff, great experience. I would absolutely go again.

First let me say that I’m from Chicago and grew with Italians and great Italian restaurants. That said we had a business dinner at Teddy’s tonight. The place is nice enough and the booths were comfortable. The server was doing his best but clearly was schooled in the«it’s just food, they’re here to be feed». No real interest in our dining experience other than take the order, serve the food. Now onto the dinner. The wine list is limited, I mean two choice of Chianti or Cabernet limited. The dinner menu looked interesting, but I decide to go with the paste special with grilled chicken. Nothing special here unless you like way to much chesses«sauce» something like alfredo sauce, but not really and extra-large portions. If this is the best Italian joint in Rome I very sorry to inform you, «you don’t know Italian!

Ordered an order of chicken riggies(to go) yesterday and picked it up. Food was definitely sub-par this time… my salad was one big hunk of lettuce that I had to cut up to eat, and the peppers and onions in my riggies were uncooked. They were completely raw still. Pasta was a bit soggy, but I just attributed that to the 20 minute drive home with it in a container, though to get soggy pasta you’d think the veggies would soften up a little too. Place was packed(Mother’s Day weekend), but I still expect my food to be good for the price I pay for it. First time I ever had a bad experience there in many years.

First time to this place and it was bad. Had the fish and chips, not good. Wife has chicken Alfredo and it was bland. Best thing was my daughters grilled cheese sandwich.

This was our second visit and both times the good and service was excellent. I see why there chicken riggies have won the contests. The nicest part of the visit is how crowberry the people are

Teddy’s is a local favorite and is probably one of the best places to eat in the Rome area, along with The Savoy and Coalyard’s.(It’s named for Teddy Roosevelt, but you’ll also notice a teddy-bear theme inside.) Atmosphere at dinner is bustling and convivial; on a typical evening you’re likely to find a mix of families, couples, friends, etc. The food is decent. They tend to offer your average mix of sandwiches, burgers, pasta, and dinners. The last couple of times I’ve been here everything has tasted fresh and flavorful. The dining areas are clean and comfortable. Service is usually fine. Nothing about this place is particularly groundbreaking, but it’s of good quality. The menu items and vibe are comparable to those at a chain restaurant like Friendly’s or Applebee’s, but why go to a chain when you can support a local/family business? The food tastes better, too.

Teddy’s is typically known as having the«best chicken riggies». Although, they did win the riggie fest numerous times; the contest was bias because everyone just went to try Teddy’s riggies each year. Getting to the real review– Teddy’s is a really good restaurant. They have a nice dining area(much bigger after the renovation) and a little bar. They also provide a take out service as you would expect. The atmosphere is casual and the service is usually spot on. I have tried at least half of the menu including the chicken/shrimp riggies several times. I don’t think the sauce is as good as it used to be. Also, I have found that the chicken lacks taste and consistency. Perhaps they are cooking the chicken whole before cutting it in to pieces.(I presume). I always order their greens as an app and they are very tastey. Lastly, their chicken tender subs are very good!

Ok my friend went here with her 10 year old they got there food. The 10 year old took one bite of her meal and started chocking. She cleared it but had a panic attack and they had to leave. They told her to call the manager to talk about the bill. When she did they made her pay the bill over the phone. Unreal I can’t believe they made her pay and she didn’t have the food and didn’t have a chance to eat it.

Negatives: Quality of the food can be inconsistent. The bar is too small. Positives: The food is generally at least OK. The desserts are usually good. Nice interior, and pleasant theme. I recommend Teddy’s as a light, comfortable eatery.

Had dinner at Teddy’s in Rome, NY this evening. This restaurant came recommended from our hotel. I was told this is the best restaurant in town, so I went to check it out. The restaurant is located in a strip mall. Inside, the décor is very dated and almost has a cafeteria feel to it. The music playing overhead was«freeze frame» when I walked in. At this point, I was worried. When we sat down, our waiter came over and was VERY nice. They didn’t have any specials, but there were a few menu items that they were known for. So I ordered them all! The first was the Italian greens, which was Sauteed Escarole with Garlic, capicola, salami, hot chili peppers and Romano cheese. It was actually very tasty. We don’t see a lot of escarole in Texas, so it totally of reminded me of home. The escarole was lightly sautéed in olive oil and the capicola and romano cheese gave it that distinct Italian flavor. The peppers provided a little heat, but it was a comfortable spicy and really, that’s the way I like it. My entrée was their special: «Chicken Riggies». I was told that this dish had won the Utica Riggie fest 4 years running and that the dish was in the Utica Riggie fest hall of fame! So, now I’m excited! «Chicken Riggies» was a rigatoni pasta dish in a white wine, tomato cream sauce with sweet peppers, mushrooms, onions and black olives. It had small cubes of chicken and optional hot cherry peppers, which I chose to get. This dish was delicious and the portion size was very generous. The pasta was cooked al dente and the white wine, tomato cream sauce was very rich. The cherry peppers provided just the right amount of heat. My parents came down to meet me for dinner and I tried their food to, of course. My Dad got the center cut sirloin steak. Sirloin is such a lean meat and because of the lack of fat, it winds up being very dense, although it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I also thought it could have been seasoned a little better. It was a bit bland. Aside from the 80’s rock music and the dated décor, the food was very good at Teddy’s. Very enjoyable meal.

I went to Teddy’s for the second time today. The food was just okay, nothing special. I ordered a grilled pizza and my mom ordered a chicken panini. The pizza crust was a little too thick, but was still okay. The panini was lacking in flavor and could have been made by anyone in their own kitchen. The last time I was there I tried the Sunflower Chicken Pasta and it was pretty good. The service was good and everyone seemed friendly. The décor is a little strange and could use some help. There is an overabundance of teddy bears of all shapes, colors and sizes along with numerous posters/pictures related to Teddy Roosevelt.

This is my first time to New York and I was told I had to try the Chicken Riggies. Excellent!!! This is the first time I have ever had these. The sauce was creamy and rich in flavor. The noodles and chicken were both done nicely. The serving size is huge and I only ate about half of it. One thing to avoid: the chips and salsa. These were on special for $ 1.99 tonight. I got them simply because I’m a huge salsa lover. The salsa here was okay; however, i expected that at an Italian restaurant. The chips were horrible. Plain and tasted heated in a microwave. I’m not removing a star for the chips simply because I ordered on a whim and didn’t expect much. The experience was great, great service, and great food.
