Great vineyard. Loved the tasting. Francis is very knowledge and fun. Beautiful building and grounds. Try the cider and wine combo! Chances are you will go home with some to mix up for yourself.

Stop by this beautiful place to get a sip of wine on my way to Cornel. The place is decorated and maintained very well, facing Cayuga Lake right from the porch. They have a nice sitting area to enjoy the scene, with a glass of Cabernet Franc. The owner is very nice, and you feel a bit of home welcoming when step into the winery. I would return next time and bring my family to enjoy the lake breeze and great wine taste.

Last spring I stayed in the Merlot cabin with friends. The staff is super friendly, and very accommodating. The cabin was furnished with what we needed including toiletries and an outdoor grill. It was enjoyable to wake up each morning and go for a short walk to say«hi» to our neighbor Melody the cow! Their wine is decent. You have to try their wine slushy! Amazing on a warm day! They have a large deck off of their tasting room, which is perfect for sitting in the sun. I almost forgot to mention the gardens! Their grounds are absolutely stunning! Flowers line the walkway to the tasting room, and you pass a beautiful pond in the driveway! It’s a must see on the Cayuga wine trail!

The wine slushies rock! Their wines are also very good and the gentleman serving us, Allen, was funny and knowledgable!

We stopped here on the recommendation of another place we stopped. The wines were good if not outstanding and they also offer hard cider as well as a wine slushy. The service was very good and the ground were beautiful. The server mentioned to us that the winery had been owned by a retired landscaper and that made a lot of sense. The only knock I have with the scenery is that I could have done without the fake swan in the small pond out front. They also carried a number of local cheeses and other things which was nice. One thing that seemed to be common among several of the wineries was that they weren’t quite ready when we arrived shortly after opening. In fact the wine slushys were really slushy yet. Still it was definitely a good stop. They also have cabins for rent which sounded like an interesting option for accommodation.

My boyfriend and I visited Buttonwood Grove Winery on 8÷13÷14 while were vacationing in the Finger Lakes. This may be the prettiest winery we saw in the area. The women who gave us our tasting explained that the previous owners were professional landscapers prior to owning the winery(and it shows). I really enjoyed the entire tasting experience and the women who gave us our tasting although not entirely set up when we arrive(we were the 1st people at the winery that day) could not have been nicer. She also had a lot of knowledge about the Finger Lakes wineries(having lived in the area for the majority of her adult life). Although, my boyfriend and I only bought 1 bottle of wine from Buttonwood Grove; the blackberry wine we purchased was very unique(hadn’t tasted anything like it before). I am sure we’ll enjoy it in the future. The only reason this place is not getting 5 stars from me is because it was not my favorite wine on our trip.

As a resident of Connecticut my wife and I wanted to try something new so we thought the Finger Lakes and some wine tasting would be perfect. I called multiple wineries to coordinate something special for my wife for our anniversary and Buttonwood was the only one that said«What would you like us to do?» They coordinated a private tasting with a nice cheese/salami spread with Marsha over the phone and she said the owner Dave will make sure they will make it special and memorable. We got to the winery where we had a separate area with some crackers, salami and a heavenly tasting Champagne Cheddar and Strawberry Cheese that we highly recommend. Allen who did are tasting was extremely nice and was very knowledgeable with the wines and educated us on the fine art of wine tasting. The wine and cheese pairings were amazing and I would highly recommend hitting up this winery. Also, they have little log cabins that you can rent on grounds that I wish I knew about before booking reservations with the Homewood Suites in Ithaca. Such an amazing experience and my wife and I highly recommend you attend this winery!

What can I say — I just got engaged here yesterday!!! Absolutely perfect beautiful setting. We sipped on blackberry wine slushies(delish) and looked out over the lake. Lovely. As for wine, we enjoyed the Dry Riesling and Cab Sav most. We returned today with friends to get some photos and when we told everyone our news they were so happy for us and gave us Diva champagne for a toast. A very memorable winery for me indeed. They even have a waterfall! :)

Another stop on the Cayuga wine trail, we really liked(and bought) the Redbud wine here. The Finger Lakes aren’t known for their Reds, but we greatly enjoyed this wine and I’m actually sipping on it right now while I enjoy the Oscar pre-show and eat some flatbread pizza(a great pairing for this light Red).

There are many wineries located along Route 89, and Buttonwood Grove is just 1 of 2 that my boyfriend and I decided to hit up while passing through this beautiful rural area last Monday. Stopped in around 11AM for a tasting session. The winery’s grounds are rustically attractive. I liked the vineyard-lined driveway and lake views from the front porch of the main cabin(tasting room). Noticed some farm animals on the property, including what I believe was an adorable shaggy Scotland Highlander. Impressive tasting room with super-high ceilings and large windows providing stunning views. Tastings are a choice of 6 for $ 3/person, and the wines I sampled – there were many from which to choose – follow: * Trillium Gold($ 9.95 retail bottle): «A blend of Riesling, Vidal Blanc, Traminette and Cayuga white grapes with a lively combination of citrus flavors and hints of fresh pineapple.» * Trillium White($ 11.95): «A sumptuous blend of Cayuga, Chardonnay, Traminette, and Melody – rich with the sweet taste of citrus.» * La Bella Rosa($ 10.99): «A delicate Rose blend of Vidal Blanc, Vignoles, Riesling, and Chambourcin […]» * Buttonwood Blush($ 10.99): «A jazzy blend of Catawba, Cayuga White, and Vincent grapes that dazzles the palate with layers of ripe aromatic fruit.» * Rose de Lori($ 10.99): «Medium red wine with a rich blend of Rougeon, Corot Noir, Cayuga and Vincent grapes.» * Miss Kassie($ 10.95): «A sweet red blend of Pinot Noir, Chambourcin, and Marechal Foch – reminiscent of a light Port.» Loved the Trillium Gold and Buttonwood Blush. Also really enjoyed the Miss Kassie, which is like port but without the bite. We purchased a couple bottles and, in turn, were refunded part of our tasting fee. Some good discounts available for purchasing multiple bottles: 5% off 3 – 5 bottles 10% off 6 – 11 bottles 15% off 12 or more bottles If you check out Buttonwood Grove Winery be sure to sample a few of the crackers in the tasting room. They’re delicious and were described by the tasting room representative as «adult animal crackers,» a great description! Great winery with wonderful affordable wines.
