We make a special stop here every time we go to the beach, just to do the wine tasting and have lunch at the bistro. EVERYTHING here is good. We’ve eaten the muscadine dip, the cheese plate, the philly cheese steak, the burgers, the chicken ranch wrap, the club… so many entrees. For a small place they have a really great variety of food. The food is very affordable, and the portion sizes are great. The wine slushies that they serve are to die for. The only thing I might say, the kitchen is a little slow, though that does let you know they make things to order. If you are visiting the winery, or not – you have to stop in!

I had a great lunch at the Bistro after the winery tour. I choose the chesseburger with waffle fries and it was very good. The price was also nice. The menu did not have a huge selection but still had plenty enough to choose from. I prefer lunch there because it’s more casual; dinner is a little more upscale(not shorts and t-shirt). The staff was very nice and helpful. I would definitely eat there again and recommend it to anyone; especially if they’ve just completed the winery tour.

The Bistro proved quite disappointing after a great experience at the rest of the winery. 3 different staff recommended the fried pork chop special so of course I got it. Chops, mashed potatoes, green beans and a side salad. It was a journey of failure. The salad was crammed into a tiny plate and was literally floating in a pool of dressing. 15 pieces of lettuce and 1 quart of dressing. The roll with my meal was unmistakably pre-made. As in frozen dough. The green beans were canned. Good, but canned. The potatoes were heavy and gluey. The gravy was either canned or from a packet, no real gravy congeals that way. The pork chop was overcooked and under-seasoned. Apparently the«chef» thought that salt from the armor plating(aka burnt batter) would get into the pork. The only reason I could eat the pork at all was because the salt lick of a breading all fell off and left a bland chop behind. The waitress(Bethany I think) was the reason they even got 2 stars. She worked her butt off and needed to. She probably had 25 – 35 customers by herself. For a place that seemed to do a decent lunch business you’d think they’d have enough staff. Also, the interior is lousy. Dusty fake grape vines split a large warehouse-like building in half. The direct and harsh lighting hurts your eyes, and the total lack of a single window or skylight makes it quite depressing.

After a thoroughly enjoyable experience with the wine tour and tasting(I have reviewed it separately under the entry for the winery) we decided to have a meal at the bistro. The meal was excellent and reasonable for a winery bistro(we have been to many). I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich which was excellent. My father in law had the crab cakes which were good. the wife had the Asian chicken salad which she enjoyed but was unable to finish is there was so much. Finally, my mother-in-law had the Burgundy Wine chicken special that was excellent.

Had lunch here. Very reasonably priced. Had a Caesar salad and shared mozzarella sticks. Definitely would get it again. My friend had the crab cake sandwich. Said it was very good. Get an option for a side along with the sandwich. She got fries which were lightly seasoned and ‘not overly salty’. Waitstaff was very friendly. Sat outside which was gorgeous.

Had lunch with my wife here for her birthday and the roast-beef over mash-potatoes and gravy with bread was delicious and I would highly recommend it, wife had the club and could barely eat half of it, price was right and everything was delicious…

A great time. Was their for the breakfast with Santa. It was amazing. Small and intimate very well organized. The food was ok. It was buffet style eggs French toast sticks, grits, sausage, and bacon. It did the job. The kids had a wonderful time and that is what counted.

$ 8 bottle of delicious wine. Crab cakes were TODIEFOR! Chocolate cake was AMAZING! Our waitress was super nice and they were really busy. The décor is really cute. Loved it all! Will definitely be back, and HIGHLY recommend!

I really hate to write such a negative review, because the people at this place are very nice and I really don’t want to give the impression that the wait staff is anything other than helpful, pleasant, and a true joy to be around. Additionally, Duplin has some fantastic wines that are worth your time and money investment. The problem is simple: the food. Our party of three ordered 3 different items: My wife had the only positive reaction in the group to her chicken salad sandwich and pasta salad side. She was the only one who didn’t end up sick. My friend ordered the Rueben with a the broccoli soup. His initial report on the Rueben was that it didn’t taste right. He finished the soup. An hour later, he was populating the bathroom on a regular basis. I ordered a salad(no dressing) with grilled chicken. The chicken came out tender and warm(if unseasoned). The problem was that the rest of the salad was also warm. Since it didn’t have dressing, instead of sending it back like I should have, I foolishly finished my salad. I also ended up sick to my stomach. Sadly, because of these infections and this experience, I cannot recommend the restaurant at all.

Romantic, rustic, inviting and more! If you’re looking for a nice, cozy evening with a date, or even with family, this is the place to go. The reception is warm and the staff very friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my candlelit dinner and wine while listening to live musical performances. Best of all? It’s inside the Winery, so you could always stop by for a little wine tasting too!
