We Stopped here after our duplin winery tour and wine tasting. I was looking for something to eat in the neighborhood and saw it on Unilocal.I told my cousin to stop by the little famous sign since she was our designated driver. I had no idea what to expect when we arrived so when we saw the deserted looking big item in the middle of the sidewalk it wasnt too impressive. Thank goodness there were pictures to show you what the actual frying pan used to look like. You can’t see any of the infamous frying pan since its completely covered. I would’ve loved to have some food from that pan back in the day. The winery and this little signage stop seems like the main attractions in this small quaint town. This attraction isn’t something to put on your itinerary to visit. However, if you’re in the area it won’t hurt to stop for five minutes and check it out for yourself.

I was heading from Wilmington to White Lake NC and I had to make the detour. There are no rides or gift shops for the kids here for sure. Just a small town with a giant frying pan for the poultry festival and a cool little winery about a half mile away. Combine the two for a great little side trip. Would I drive here from Atlanta just to see the pan… No but if your heading to Wilmington it is a stop well worth the few minutes of the highway it is. Good signage letting you know how to get there also is a plus.

Wish they didn’t have the cover over the pan. Really neat to see a small town only a short drive from a major city like Wilmington that has the World’s Largest Frying Pan, good people that are trying to make ends meet.
