In my opinion, their slice is one of the top 5 slices in NYC(and I’m a pizza junkie). J&S never gets any love from those NYC pizza polls because it literally sits on the border between Nassau and Queens, but ever since I was a kid I stand by their pizza as one of the best in the area. Sauce is flavorful, crust is crisp, and the cheese is just the right amount. They just sell square slices here, but trust me, they have perfected it.

I’ve been eating J & S(«Just Squares») Pizza for nearly 30 years and have never been disappointed. Their Sicilian-style slices are still as delicious now as they were back in the ’90’s. J & S offers a variety of toppings(my favorite is the ground beef… kinda cheeseburger pizza thang) as well as standard pizza shop sandwiches and dinner selections. The quality and service are always very good. They’ve become a bit pricey in the recent years, but still well worth the visit. I recommend this pizza shop if ever you’re in the area.

This place is honestly not all that. All the hype is unfounded. Ordered two fresh pies and they tasted bland like cardboard(stale crust). It wasn’t the worst I ever had but it was less than average. The slices are square and you get less pizza than the regular round pizza. On a good note, the garlic knots were pretty good.

This is a nice little spot on the Queens Nassau border. They only sell square pizza hence the name J & S Pizza meaning Just Squares. Clean and updated spot with a parking lot. Delicious sauce and pizza taste great. I recommend this place for eat in or take out.

This is my spot. I used to eat pizza here almost every weekend. They only serve sicilian style slices and it is one of the best sicilian slices you’ll ever have. I’ve had sicilian slices that were 95% dough. J&S is the right amount of cheese, sauce and dough. Aside from their pizza, their baked ziti is great. It is so cheesy. If you’ve never had sicilian pizza, try J&S first. You’ll never want anything else.

Best pizza ever! I’ve grown up on J&S. The crust is so good I always have to get at least one corner when ordering. My sisters and I would fight over the corners growing up, we probably still would. I have never been disappointed.

Pizza was absolutely delicious. I have passed this establishment hundreds of time and never really gave them a second thought, maybe because of the location. The two guys that were working when I stopped by were super friendly and engaging. I conversed with them from the time I ordered the pizza up until I left. I learned that they were both from El Salvador and would be returning home on vacation in a few days to visit family. Great staff and great pizza I will definitely return.

Really good cheese pizza. I’m very picky. The crust was crispy and light, the sauce was sweet and robust and the cheese was . I’ll be coming back!

I grew up on this pizza. I’ll always remember going in to pick up a few pies from Abraham Lincoln(locals know who I’m talking about). Now that I moved out east, whenever I go back to visit my parents, I always stop and pick up 2 pies on my way in. Love you guys

My favorite pizza by far. Different than anywhere else I have been. The chicken parm hero’s are the Best and I love all their food. Thin crust square pizza is the only kind they serve and they make it soooo good. Love those corners. Keep up the good work

The coolest guys ever! This spot is the reason why I’m a pizzaHEAD. I’ve been coming here since I was a small child, on those long-awaited lucky breaks from the nightly home-cooked meals. Now, I still pass by occasionally for my favorite; one slice with anchovies. Yummy in my tummy! There are few small business that have been serving this community since before I was born. I hope this one never leaves.

The pizza is pretty good and unique. It isn’t amazing but tasty but they do not deliver and the place can stand to be renovated.

I remember long days at the laundry with my mom as a kid. To keep me from being a badass, she would promise me a slice from J&S next door.(I’ve never been so behaved!) Works like a charm every time. I live 3 blocks from this joint. It’s been apart of my life, kinda. Their pizza is really tasty! I’m in love with the aftertaste of it too(who says that? O. o) lol! Also, their pasta?! Very hearty and lovely! The people that work here are sweethearts.

Right on the corner of Hook Creek and Merrick Road, J&S Pizza has been a staple in the neighborhood for 6000 years. All the greats have eaten here: Alexander, Houdini and the English Queen Catherine. Now seriously. They only serve sicilian style pizza and not that super fat square slice you get in every pizza joint. This is thin crust, the way your Italian grandma used to make. Slices will run you $ 2.50 and a whole pie will set you back $ 17(Yikes!). It is delicious and always made fresh. Been coming here since I was in elementary school. Always money well spent.

I have never been to J&S Pizza is Rosedale but I can attest to their cooking as I will now explain! Before relocating to south Florida, I grew up in Canarsie. There was once an amazing pizzeria there called Joe’s Pizza(9130 Ave L) that I think was the best pizza ever in Canarsie history. I really enjoyed that some of my school years in the 1970s. Then there was later a restaurant called J&S Pizza & Restaurant(9604 Ave L) that I had so many meals at or just a yummy hero to go in the 1980s &1990s. Great memories! Yes, both of those businesses were started by Joseph Piazza Snr(RIP) who also started up J&S Pizza in Rosedale in 1971. Today, Joseph Piazza Jr runs J&S Pizza. The impeccable family rep & the photos I see at their facebook page at are enough for me and I am rating them a 5 but, yes, I want to visit them my next trip back to the NYC /Long Island area. Note, you can see my photo album devoted to the Piazza family restaurants at: .
