Good news is you get Some serious portions served here, but not so good news is I’ve had better. This locations is close to my aunts house so it’s convenient but for the most part the taste and quality lacks here. This place is mostly known for their broken rice dishes with diff combinations of meat. But there are other items available if you don’t want a rice dish. If you dont see what you want on the menu, you can always make you’re own by telling them what you want. We almost always get the combination meats because it’s a little bit of everything. But if I had to choose or to recommend a type of meat, you can’t go wrong with the charbroiled pork or beef. Chinese sausages are a little dry. Egg cakes and fried tofu cake aren’t bad but I’ve had better. Everything else isn’t really worth mentioning. Services like any other typical Vietnamese place, it lacks and could use some work. Im pretty sure we’ll be back cause it’s convenient, but way better places and portions in OC.

I had the Korean grilled beef and baked egg, and my friend had porkchop with baked egg. The Korean grilled beef was not good, the color was too red, looked very artificial. It looked nothing like the pictures on the menu. Egg cake was good. There are a lot of better places out there, so I don’t recommend coming here.

Decent, average Vietnamese food. Food is good for big portions. They are known for their broken rice with meat combinations. They do serve dry noodles with meat, spring rolls, and phở, but broken rice is in their restaurant name. Pricing for rice is around 6 to 9. Dry noodles about 8. I have been here a couple of times and it’s very spacious, humid as there is no air conditioning, and they have some flies and fruit flies just a heads up. Do not be discouraged, they have been around for a while. Service is okay.

I usually come here to eat on the weekends. But this weekend was especially bad. They had three uncleaned tables. And there were TWOBEES inside the restaurant!!! Disgusting. I had to leave this place before ordering. They should probably learn to close all of their doors during restaurant hours instead of leaving them wide open for insects to fly in.

Best broken rice dishes in the city. Their portions are huge and the meat is always flavorful. The only downside would be the service. But other than that the food is great. I especially like their complimentary soup.

Food is good, decent price, however they don’t except credit card even though Unilocal said they accept credit card.

Huge portion for great price. I use to go to a place near Hawaii supermarket but when i discover this place, i stop going to the other place. Quality of the food is hot and fresh. Did i mention generous portion? Staff are all friendly.

I called in to order a dish rice which is $ 7 with 2 topping. I gave $ 20 to the owner and she only gave me $ 3 back, when I told her that she should gave me $ 17 back and she denied. It is horrible restaurant with dishonest owner.

very good portion. I couldn’t finish the broken rice dish. Except that I don’t like the very little artificial food color they add into the pork egg cake and probably the rib, everything else is great. the soup that comes with the rice dish is really nice. service is okey only. but well I definitely will come back!

I don’t know why, but my family loves to come here. Naturally, it makes me a regular as well too. For the price you pay, the portions are just right and they don’t skimp. Get the com tam(broken rice) dishes. The phở, on the other hand, isn’t the greatest. If you want phở, then go to an actual phở-only restaurant. If you want a variety in Vietnamese cuisine, then this place is worth a visit so you can make your own judgement.

Amazing Com Tam. I can’t remember what I ordered. They should post their menu up! I’m sure anything you get will be amazing. Tiet Nuong was incredible. However, it is true the meat portion is a bit small. But, I would still get this, and it would still be fulfilling. The sauce to mix is on point!

Whack restaurant with jerk waiter sits there eating and tells me to grab my own menu and never takes my order. I left that dump and never to return.

This vietnamese restaurant is amazing ! Definitely on my TOP #3 favorite in SGV. The service is wonderful, the vietnamese ladies always smile and try to make conversation with me in Vietnamese. :) You get twice the food here for the same price as most other places. There is always a portion to take home and eat a second meal. They specialize in com tam, and I always order it here. Keep up the great work guys, your restaurant is super wonderful– I cannot speak highly enough of your authentic viet dishes.

As far as tiet nuong goes, this is probably the best vietnamese rice combo dish I’ve ever had. This is my regular spot for the past 3 years and I have yet to find a place that tops their quality and price. I usually go for the standard com tiet nuong which comes with rice, pork, and soup. It is quite delicious and fulfilling. The place in of itself isn’t super fancy, but it isnt bad either. Your more or less here for tiet nuong or you ordering a pound of tiet nuong to go to take home anyways. Take out order is about 5 – 10 mins depending on when you order. Definitely recommend coming out here if your craving some vietnamese tiet nuong. Their spring rolls aren’t bad either, but really its all about that meat, about that meat, about that meat lol.

When it comes to broken rice, there’s many places you can choose from in the SGV. This place is probably one of the top places I’d go to. Their food is consistently good and I love the small bowl of pork spare rib soup that comes with your meal. The portions are great and always filling. Their customer service could probably use some work. It’s not that they provide bad service, I just think they could be a little more attentive. Overall, I’m definitely a repeat customer!

Don’t waste your time. When I came here for lunch, the service was horrible. Had to request an item several times with different servers and when they did fulfilled the request, they weren’t happy like we were a bother. I only asked 2 times for them to get something. To top that off, the food want all that good. The pork chop was a little dry. Go to another com tam place Con: food and service!

Seriously some good broken rice dishes here. For less than eight bucks, one meal regular rice dish is super filling and steal. The dining area is a remnant of the 90s and hasn’t been remodeled for along time. Its totally ok to sit in, but usually I prefer to call in and order take out. The operator will ask your order then give you a number for pick up so listen for it since the English here is not the best but its something. Some good basics I like are the Charbroiled Beef with Rice or Charbroiled Pork with rice. The phở here is a pass compared to the rice, get that next door at Phở Saigon instead. Don’t forget its cash only and enjoy.

Can someone please explain to me how to pronounce the name of this restaurant? Seriously… But besides that… Legit Vietnamese food in the 626! *Got their Egg noodles with Pork(NOCILANTRO) and for $ 8 cash you get a decent size serving of noodles and *Service isn’t the best but you’re at an Asian restaurant. What did you expect? *If you want simple, no frills, and delicious and affordable cuisine then Com Tam Ninh Kieu is your one stop shop… J to the Y. CASHONLY.

I love com tam!(: this place is very solid with their com tam dishes and so many combinations. You can always add a fried egg to your fish and it comes with two eggs. Do it guise! Fried egg with com tam is amazing !! I always get com tam with : BI: strands of boiled pork covered in toasted rice powder. This sounds weird but its a staple for com tam. Its like peanut butter for your peanut butter sandwich. Thit Nuong: grilled pork. Theirs is kind of sweet. CHA: vietnamese crab and noodle meatloaf. Again another staple of com tam! rice dishes come with free consommé ! Service is friendly and very fast !

One of my favorite Com Tam places. Its gotten a makeover in the last few years but I’ll always remember how it looked. Its much brighter and open now. The Com Tam here is always good. Good portions, good taste, good price. I always recommend this place to my non-asian friends when they want broken rice for lunch/dinner.
