I love desserts very much! I often come here eat ice cream or drinks, I like the bright colors and sweet tastes, especially the cup desserts with taro, pearls and coconut milk, worth 4 stars but almost 5 stars, I hope they will provide more desserts!

Really bad service if you aren’t Asian, waited ten minutes as more people came and ordered and watched them all get their orders first. Lovely.

I love this place. Every weekend I make the trek out here from the westside. It’s that good I’m willing to get in my car, drive 25 miles and fight traffic to get it. There Che ba mau is the best, better than any of the surrounding restaurants. I also really like the tapioca balls in ginger Che. And the sticky rice with coconut milk is amazing. Only downside is the parking lot where there’s always seemingly a close call. Best bet on weekends is park on one of the side streets and walk there. The dessert is definitely worth it, and it’s cheap too.

It was good to see the place alive and well, although it doesn’t carries as many items as their other location on Westminster or Bolsa. It’s good to know there’s an option closer to LA when you have a Vietnamese dessert crave. Customer service is fine as long as you have a little extra patience. Overall, definitely a spot to come back to!

The service is semi rude, but the desserts are usually pretty good. Hien Khanh specializes in Vietnamese dessert AKA che. $ 2.00 can buy you one of their cup desserts. They have casava, taro, banana, jelly, beans, and pearls, mixed with coconut milk. You can get them with/without sesame seeds on top QUICKTIP: THEYUSUALLYCLOSEEARLIERTHANOTHERBUSINESSESATTHEFOODCOURT! 4 stars! I usually end up smiling after eating my dessert from this place. Hien Khanh is yummylicious!

After having our insides scorched by a spicy torta, we decided to line our tummy with some ice cold dessert! Normally we think ice cream or froyo, but we decided to be adventurous and get Che ba mau!!! We chanted«Che ba mau ! Che ba mau !» All the way to the supermarket into the food court and right up to the window. There we drooled at the display and ordered our Che ba mau. It was so delicious! The coconut milk wasn’t too sweet, the beans tasted so fresh! The jelly was so gelatinous! Yummy! I threw the straw and lid away and shoveled everything in my mouth with the spoon and drank huge gulps of the milk chewing the jelly all the way! Loved it.

I pretty much stopped going to food courts for a pretty long time and now I totally can’t believe how good some places have started to become. My mom actually showed me this spot it’s located in the supermarket in San Gabriel and parking can sometimes be crazy so go on the weekdays and try not to do it during lunch. There are pretty much five ladies asking you to pick what desserts or drinks you want to order from them. The desserts are all show cases with bright colors and pretty looking stuff. I don’t really know the names of it but I took some pictures of it. Tried around three different ones and also had my favorite Vietnamese drink Pennyworth! It’s a green drink I have no idea what is in it but it taste super good. I told them no sugar and yes it’s the way I like it! If you want to be adventurous go for no sugar but if not just order it the way it comes. Super quick and fast and Soo much variety on desserts what more do you need!!!

This place is amazing– taste-wise and cheap prices! All the authentic Vietnamese dessert can be found here, okay, maybe most. It sucks it’s inside the grocery store because not many people know about it compared to other generic dessert places in the SGV with horrendous prices(particularly Bambu). Every time I go there, the two ladies working are always friendly and no, I don’t speak Vietnamese. They’ve always been patient although I take a while to decide what I want so I don’t over-order. And nice that it’s so close so I don’t have to drive all the way to the OC for some authentic Vietnamese dessert. Also, they are very generous with the«toppings».

3.5 stars. Got the rice ball with coconut sauce. The taste of the coconut sauce was a bit different than what I have tried in the past. It doesn’t have the kick that most coconut sauce have. The price was $ 2.50.

Back in my childhood, my parents would stop by the food court after grocery shopping. I would be playing in the arcades that use to be there, while they got some Vietnamese desserts. The market changed their name, the arcade is now gone, but we still find ourselves here at Hien Khanh, 20 years later, when craving freshly made Vietnamese desserts. No other store that I’ve been to has this many variety of the traditional Vietnamese desserts available, whether you want something hot or cold. My personal favorite is Che Thai which is a drink dessert consisting of various fruits and tapioca in milk/coconut and the sesame balls. It’s just so crunchy and good, unlike other places. My parents are huge fans of the various sticky rice(xoi) desserts they have, so we always bring home a good bunch of them. I’d say we stop by almost every weekend for our weekly dessert fix. Additionally, they recently got an extreme modern makeover so it’s really cool looking with all the colorful lights and really clean as well. All their desserts are displayed nicely so you’ll be overwhelmed with all the choices you have and want to order everything you see.

When a store has recipes that were passed down through generations, and successfully operated for decades, you know they are doing it right. They recently have refreshed their store front to a much needed modern theme. Thank goodness that all the deliciousness are kept around. The owner has a lot of reservation in expanding the business even though they can easily outsold the chain dessert shops out there. Perhaps it’s better that way since business expansion sometimes can corrode into quality if not managed properly. I wish they can grow the business to more locations so that I don’t always need to go to that one spot to fill my sweet tooth. At the mean while, I will just have to savor the little gem whenever I visit the area.

My parents have been coming here before I was born. They love this place! This Che place serves a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese deserts in the 626 area. Located inside the Square Market, they are recently remodeled their store. It looks a lot nicer and cleaner. Hien Khanh is known for their traditional Vietnamese deserts. They offer cold drinks and warm desserts. For the warm desserts, the prices range from $ 2 to $ 2.5 each item. For the cold drinks, they have two sizes. Small is $ 3(same size as Bambu, but Bambu sells it for $ 4.5-$ 5), and a large it’s $ 4. A large cup can have up to a total of 5 items and a small cup can have up to 4 items. Their deserts are freshly made with coconut juices and milk, unlike other places that are all from cans good. The taste is unbeatable at Hien Khanh. Every time I go, I would always get their best seller Che Thai(Large: $ 4) which consist of Jack fruit, longan, chewy green tapioca, and pomegranate and Che Ba Mau(Large: $ 4) which is the 3 color desert that contains red bean, white been, chewy green tapioca, and mung bean. Also, they will customize my drink for me. How sweet I like, how much ice I want to be in my drink. I can also tell them to put more of some items and less of other items. Sometimes I would get their Green sticky rice($ 2.5) and Mochi balls($ 2) serve with coconut milk on the side, crunchy sesame ball($ 2), and Nuoc Rau Ma(Vietnamese Pennywort Juice)(Large: $ 3.5) Every time when my parents and I crave for Vietnamese desserts, we always come here. The taste is unbeatable. It is authentic Vietnamese Che! Its fresher, taste better, and their prices very right!

For someone with a sweet tooth, it’s hard to resist not getting something from here when I stop by at Harlam’s restuarant which is just right next door. I’ve tried some of their drinks and desserts and all have been pretty good. There’s a few more drinks and desserts that I’m looking forward to try next time I come here.

This branch of Thach Che Hien Khanh serves the largest variety of Vietnamese desserts in the San Gabriel Valley. It’s located within a food court in Rosemead where the rent must be dirt cheap because most of the food stalls there charge no more than $ 6 per item. Compared to the original shop in Westminster, this Hien Khanh location carries fewer items. For example, savory variations of sticky rice(xoi) are not offered here. Only recently has an item outside of dessert(chè), namely banh duc, been available. Hien Khanh is still a versatile traditional Vietnamese dessert shop with hot and cold options, so it’s different from the popular Bambu chain that mainly focuses on modern iced chè drinks. The dessert table displays sweet xoi, flavored agar jelly, cassava cakes, and beyond, which taste more like candy than Bambu’s «slush». Most of the chè at Hien Khanh are eaten with a spoon, whereas the layered slush-like desserts at Bambu are typically slurped through a boba straw. The serving size at Hien Khanh is smaller compared to Bambu’s. Items are either scooped into 6 oz plastic cups or packed into styrofoam take-out boxes, so prices are manageable($ 2 to $ 3 per item compared to $ 4 to $ 5 chè drink at Bambu). In addition, desserts at Hien Khanh tend to be significantly sweeter and more fragrant compared to the ones at Bambu. As I understand, this sugar level is more traditional and fitting to sweet-tooth Vietnamese palates. During my last visit, I ordered the chè dau trang for $ 2, which was wet sticky rice cooked with black eye peas, served warm. It was accompanied with some warm coconut milk on the side, for me to spoon into sticky rice to make the dessert more soupy and to control the sweetness level. The chè dau trang was a simple dessert, the coconut milk softened the beans so the contrast between chewy and crunchy textures didn’t seem to be a problem. I thought that the 6oz cup was perfectly portioned, because I could not imagine eating an entire cup of rice if it were Bambu-sized. I prefer this type of warm dessert to the Bambu iced desserts because it required more effort in the preparation(cooking rice, soaking and then boiling beans). It seemed to be more genuine than scooping canned ingredients with crushed ice and coconut milk into a cup.

The drinks are decent except I found a few chunks of not sure what, maybe coconut milk? Concentrated? Anyway, it doesn’t taste good and ruined my mood.

I think their dessert is a bit pricy. The taste is fair, but each portion is very tiny. I wish they can have buy 2 get 1 free or buy 1 the 2nd half price something promotion like that.

Vietnamese style desserts. Pandan flavor(tropical leaf extract widely used in South East Asia) dominates majority of the desert(Che). Green color & very fragrant with a distinctive flavor. Coconut milk is used throughout different items, either in it or on the side. You can buy different types of drinks as well. With or without Boba(Similar to what Bambu has but this place has been around much longer) Cold desserts, Hot desserts, different Glutinous rice(Xoi) items either sweet or savory. They are located right next to Harlem Kitchen inside the food court. The food court is is located inside the The Square Market. Cash Only so don’t forget to stop by the ATM.

I’ve been here for years. This place has the best and authentic Vietnamese desert ever. Whenever I’m craving che ba Mau(three color desert) this is the place to go. They have wide variety of che but I always stick to my love. It located in square plaza so it a bit difficult to find but once you try it. I will guarantee that you fall in love. It’s that good and addicting.

**** No Sandwich here but lots of dessert choice. **** Despite it said sandwich, it doesn’t serve any. Instead it focus authentic. Vietnamese dessert and drinks. Located in the garvey square shopping center food court. This place gets busy all the time, there’s usually a line around 3 – 5 peoples. I order one of the drink. cost $ 2. It was kinda strange at first, because it taste very different, is actually more like a dessert, you use a spoon instead of a straw. It got big chuck of sweet potato inside, all other stuff you normally in a soup. It use a interesting creamy milk, hardly sweet at all. So I assume is healthy For those who used to drink Taiwanese sweet drink like Boba, they offer here as well but mix with more stuff. People come here often buy a dozen not single order. I will definite come back next time try one of their many different dessert. Tips: * Sales Tax is Included * Cash Only
