Terrible. Asked them if they had the two for $ 5 sale and they told us no, not until way later. The second we left the store they put out the sign of 2 for $ 5. AFTER we ordered and paid they told us we had to wait about 30 – 40 minutes. WAITEDOVERANHOUR. Just for them to tell us that they LOST our order? And had to wait longer? Made us late to work, not coming back for a while.

This place is excellent! I had the tempura bento and it was very tasty. The chicken teriyaki and it was very juicy and tender. The miso soup was good. The waiter Kevin went to get more miso soup that had more tofu in it for my kids. The waiter Kevin was very informative and polite and most importantly professional.

First off It is in that Vietnamese market shopping center, so I figured that it must be good because they like to eat good and fresh. There was a couple other customers that left as I arrived. So I was the only customer. I ordered the Bento box with sashimi. I was happy since service was quick and I was parked in a 30 minute space. So the portions was genourous and sashimi was great EXCEPT Salmon is usually my favorite but this one was NOT good. I think it may have not been the freshest or maybe it was the type of salmon. Maybe it was farmed??? I have no idea, I am making assumptions. Anyway I was still full from the rest of the food. I have to mention that the water was yummy because it tasted filter, Miso was one of the best I’ve had, also salad dressing was on point. I was torn between giving it a 3 or 4 because I really just give it a 3 and a half star. If it wasn’t for salmon, it would gotten a five star from me.

The servers are so polite. They helped my mom accommodate to her diet because she is recovering from gallbladder surgery. While we were eating they consistently checked on us and attended to us. As for the food, the white tuna sashimi was soft and creamy and just so heavenly. The noodles in my ramen were not undercooked and the broth not greasy and was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back. :)

Pretty good place with awesome sushi and sashimi selections. The sashimi there are nice and thick cuts too. They didn’t have a huge selection of sushi but it was pretty good. Their ramen wasn’t the greatest either. But for that price and granted that it isn’t focused on ramen, it’s a pretty size — able bowl.

Spicy tuna roll has very fish taste. It doesn’t taste fresh. It doesn’t seem fresh. The cucumber inside looks too transparent as if it was frozen and defrosted. The first roll — regular price– and the second roll — a half price– deal is only for a few selections. Mostly veggie rolls and Cali roll when you order rainbow roll, etc. Rainbow roll, also not fresh, I think fish in general, just turn around is too long. Not many people comes. It is Thursday dinner time, we ate there from 7−8pm, I only saw two ppl for take out. No one in the restaurant. Chirashi wasn’t too horrible, it was just ok. The price is $ 11.99 I won’t recommend anyone to go here. I won’t come again. So disappointed. Sorry. The pictures look nice.

Pretty good place, service is okay, depending on the days you go. I always go here, almost every friday to order a Classic or Tempura Bento. It was delicious, and you could customize it with whatever their options are! I usually take take-out and the service is quick and very friendly. They also provided free green tea and ice cream too. I was a little upset that they weren’t open this afternoon and that Unilocal failed to post the correct times of their hours. Overall, it’s has very good sushi, sashimi, and price and I hope the business stays for a while.

The fish is fresh and delicious. The pieces were also very thick. I ordered a bento with sashimi, sesame chicken and nigiri side. The portions are big and it was only $ 14.99 for so many things. The sesame chicken was huge, crispy and filled with chicken. Not too dry and perfectly crispy. My mom ordered their ramen special that was only $ 7.99. It was a pretty big bowl with 4 big pieces of pork ribs. The broth was on the light side, not too salty which I enjoyed and the ramen was a good chewy texture. I would definitely come back again to order the bento and ramen.

My cousin and I stopped by here for a last minute dinner on the way home. It was about 6:30−7pm on a Friday night but it was pretty empty inside, which we thought was strange for a restaurant. Service was slow and not very attentive. Took a long time for my cousin to get his ramen and he said it wasn’t even that good. I got the Philadelphia Roll and it was larger than what I was used to but it was good. Prices were decent. We got free edamame in the beginning and free green tea ice cream with pieces of jelly for dessert with our orders.

The food is better than average, but the service is horrible. Food Review: * Dragon Roll: I would consider this to be the best of the sushi plates and one of the tastiest at that. It tastes good even without soy sauce! I highly recommend this plate for a first timer. It’s full of flavor and the teriyaki/fish meat on it is pretty good. * Tempura Roll: Also a good dish. The crunchiness of the tempura flakes/dots combined with the sushi served with this plate goes great together. Two of the sushi’s have the tail of a shrimp sticking out so try not to eat the shell(unless you want to). * Caterpillar Roll: I feel like this roll has more of an avocado taste to it. Not as good as compared to the Dragon Roll. Also, as I ate this, I quickly got tired of it after maybe 4 – 5 pieces and forced myself to eat it so I don’t waste it. Service: * It’s not that great. They can take orders, but sometimes they’re not around to easily raise your hand and get some water. Most of the time, they do refill it without having to be asked. I’ve been here a couple times and never had a problem, except(3⁄8) they charged me full price when it was supposed to be «buy one sushi plate, get one 50% off,» and it took foreever to find out what to do about the situation. Two of the people who served us were kind of new. One of them was«halfway» new, which is no excuse because I’ve seen here every time I came to this restauraunt, but the other guy was understandable. About This Place: * This place is sometimes empty and sometimes packed. * The only good seats are by the window, where you can see light and the outside parking lot.

This place got a lot better! I had the tuna, salmon, and yellow tail sushi and the pieces were thick. The sushi looked and tasted fresh. Yellowtail here was better than a lot of other places that I’ve tried. Service is good. They give complimentary miso soup, edamame, and hot tea too! This place isn’t busy because of the previous reviews. I would come eat here again

Ummm. used to come here a lot for cheap sushi but not anymore. Sushi chef just stood there picking his nose. yes he had a napkin on his finger while he shoved it up there but still. didn’t wash his hands after or anything & went on to prepping food THEN went back to picking his nose again omg!!! Pls don’t do this in front of your customers! So iffy. makes me wonder what else they carelessly do… :/

My sister ordered #12: 8 pieces of California roll, spicy tuna roll, and this roll filled with tamagoyaki, shredded dried pork, carrots, and imitation crab met(not sure what it’s called :(). There was some weird taste to the California roll… Very different from any other I have tasted. The spicy tuna roll felt the same, most likely not fresh. The 3rd roll was just a weird combination, and I did not enjoy it. My mom got the tempura bento set. It came with some tempuras(shrimp & some veggies) and beef teriyaki. The beef tasted like the meat used to make hamburger patties. The tempura was actually good though! I ordered the smaller bento set, which had just chicken cutlet &6 pieces of California rolls. The chicken cutlet was good though. The salad that came with both bentos were just cut cabbage leaves and a small containers filled with seaweed and a soy-peanut dressing. Dessert came with the bento, and it was green tea ice cream with some colorful jellies(weird combination if you ask me). Their ice cream tastes different compared to other green tea ice cream, but it was still enjoyable, even with the jellies. I also had two different waiters, one guy and one girl. The waitress was more attentive than the waiter. Overall, my experience was pretty subpar, and I most likely would not come back in the future. If you do come, just come for ice cream, tempura, or the chicken cutlet!

HOWTOGETHERE: It’s in the giant square supermarket plaza on Garvey and SG Blvd. You have to walk INTO the supermarket, and it’s the first door to your right. if you’re walking in the main entrance. This is a sushi joint for people who want quantity over quality. Haha, but their quality is not even that bad! Win win :) I’ve only came for the lunch specials since I work in the area. The lunch specials are SUPER worth it. $ 6 bento box, and you get: –Miso Soup –Rice –Meat(Chicken terayaki, sukiyaki, or pork cutlet, I believe) –Small seaweed salad(like one bite…) –4FAT california rolls –Sesame salad –Slice of Orange Pay a little extra for better meats or for real sushi. Caution: Takes a really long time from the time you order until the time you get the food, so take that into account if you have a limited lunch break.

1.5, actually forget it. 1. The only reason why you would ever come here and think this place is great is either because you’re dirt poor or you think anything that doesn’t get you sick tastes great. It’s a pretty big thing to say, but at the same time it’s their attitude of how they treat food that has lead to the multiple relaunching of this particular store. And it continues. FOODQUALITY: For the love of at least decent food, if you’re going to serve a filet of fish with its skin on then make sure YOUSCALETHEWHOLETHING. Customers should not have to worry about biting on fish scales. And it’s nice to know that you’ve tried to season your food correctly, but if the highlight flavors of a fish dish is the salt and pepper then you’re using too much of it. Miso Soup? Broth, salt, and tofu flavors that were undeveloped and separated instead of melded. California roll? It’s sweeter and creamier than your average California roll since they add in more mayonnaise, and since they don’t use seasoned sushi rice there’s no acidity to balance out that sweetness. Salmon nigiri sushi was only slightly disappointing, but kind of what I expected for what I paid for. Although a nicer, generous larger piece it lacked that velvety texture that what makes salmon so dangerously addictive. However, I was pretty happy that the pieces I got tasted fresh. And to note. The wasabi is fake. Green tea ice cream was okay. Touch of green tea, taste of water, and a whole lotta cream. Consistency was fairly thin though. SERVICE: Was okay, but they did offer water when we needed refills. ENVIRONMENT: Large, spacious, and overall a little chilly. It’s not a very well lit place and relies on a lot of sunlight, which makes for an awkward looking environment when you have darker pinks and blacks sit under a 3200K lighting after sunset. Overall. no. Take me to a Mitsuwa Market and I’ll be much happier.

I usually never pay attention to sushi spots hidden inside a building let alone a market. However, to my surprise this place has exceeded my expectations! Today is actually my second time here and not to mention I came here yesterday as well! Yes two nights in a row :) Both nights were slow, but just like I did, people probably have doubts trying sushi inside a market. They have lunch and dinner specials. For dinner special we chose the more pricey dinner which came with soup, rice, salad, two items off the list(some items such as 5 pieces of sushi were $ 1.00 more), 2 pieces of nigiri and 4 pieces of california roll. We got the chicken teriyaki and chicken cutlet. Off the sushi menu we got 12 pieces of sashimi, and a spicy tuna roll. Here are the foods that came out in order: Two miso soups that were hot and just warms your soul on a cold night. Edamame that were just enough to tease you, but not get you full. Spicy tuna roll. Oh my god. The rolls were big with little rice around and stuffed with massive amount of spicy tuna inside! It was so delicious! 12 pieces of sashimi: Big thick cuts, buttery melts in your mouth! Consist of 3 pieces salmon, 3 pieces of tuna, 3 pieces of yellowtail and 3 pieces of albacore. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so look below! Last, but not least the dinner combo. The chicken cutlet were fried to perfection without too much breading. When you bite into it, you can still get a great bite of chicken. The teriyaki chicken was good as well. The california rolls were big and we actually saved some of our sashimi and placed it on top of the california roll! Two pieces of nigiri was delicious as well. Today I ordered two spicy tuna rolls and an appetizer chicken cutlet. The owner came out and handed the boyfriend and I a cute little spicytuna hand roll! It was so cute because they give it to you in this plastic wrap and when you unwrap it, you then roll the handroll yourself! Hard to explain, but so freakin cute!!! Overall i love this place and it is so close to me. I am going to become a regular for sure!

Why did I go here? I’ve been avoiding this restaurant for the longest time. Shinsengumi was too busy to take to-go order and I was craving sushi and pressed on time. Ordered spicy tuna roll, albacore and monkfish liver. Spicy tuna roll($ 4.99): lol this spicy tuna roll has cucumber. I never had spicy tuna roll with cucumber. It’s not tasty and just spicy. The cucumber makes it even worse. Albacore($ 2.99): stringy and drenched in sauce. Monkfish liver salty($ 2.99): salty and not good. Raise your price a little bit and give us better quality fish. Some sushi places price their sushi $ 1.50 higher per 2 pcs for decent quality fish. Complimentary miso soup. You know it’s not an authentic place if they give you spoon for your miso soup. Friendly and helpful service. 2 stars! Sakura restaurant is not yummylicious!

I believe this place re-opened a few months ago, with different owners but the same name. We stopped by at about 5PM… it was pretty empty since it was early, but we went in anyway. We were greeted by several friendly faces and ordered to go: a mixed sushi roll(4 pieces of California roll, 4 pieces of spicy tuna, 5 pieces of futomaki for $ 8.99) and a California and spicy tuna roll(8 pieces for $ 4.99). The friendly server/cashier girl told us it would be about 10 minutes, so we grocery-shopped to pass the time. They’re really generous with the sushi filling, not like some places that rip you off by giving you giant balls of rice. The sushi rice itself was yummy, not gluey/melded together like at some cheaper places(usually when the sushi’s been sitting out for a while). Their menu indicates they have a lunch special starting from $ 5.99 from 11AM-2PM and a dinner special starting at $ 7.99 from 5PM-9PM. I’ll definitely come back whenever I need a quick, cheap and tasty sushi fix!

Did this restaurant just relaunch/reopen? We had a platter of assorted nigiri and rolls for $ 27 including tax for lunch to-go. Before I start though and as a disclaimer, I would like to say that I’ve been to Japan(and my brother has lived there) and I’ve also worked at a sushi bar before, so without further ado… CONS: (1) The california rolls were tasteless. I don’t want to exaggerate, but unfortunately I’d still have to say that it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. (2) The salmon and the tuna nigiri didn’t have any taste to them. The texture of both fishes were off. The rice was abnormally shaped and unevenly distributed; there was no standard, and the rice wasn’t even at all sticky. The moment anyone tried to pick up the nigiri, the entire thing would fall apart. (3) The third nigiri which I assumed to be yellowtail… was equally as disgusting if not more because it reeked and tasted old. In all honesty, I couldn’t even confirm nor could anyone else in my family that it was yellowtail other than it kinda(!!) looked like yellowtail. (4) The best tasting thing on the plate were the 4 pieces of shrimp nigiri. They weren’t anything special, and the shrimps were on the smaller side… but my brother and I were fighting for the only edible pieces on the plate. PROS: We were given a huge blob of fake wasabi and extra containers of wasabi and ginger. Chopsticks and napkins were provided in another bag. Hurrah for free utensils and wasabi? Meh. I’ve had cheaper but better sushi elsewhere…
