This place is horrible, where do I start. This place is pretty big and pretty empty and for good reason. The place is also dirty, I get a creepy feeling something is going to crawl on me so I’m always defensive about it. I have given this place many chances mainly I’ve been overruled and end up here cause someone wants to try it cause they think it looks authentic, I always end up saying I told you so! This is not authentic Mexican food on any level. There’s also the tortillas are store purchased not freshly made, even taquerias can muster up some fresh ones. Food is very bland I have tried just about everything only good thing is the salsa that they put out with the chips. My suggestion is don’t waste your time here. Service needs improvement too.

My boyfriend and I absolutely love coming here since we’ve moved to Rosenberg this January. We live about a minute away. My bf absolutely LOVES the frozen margaritas, he usually can handle quite a bit of alcohol but two margaritas here and he’s good to go, not drunk but tipsy and feeling relaxed as he says. He always goes for the green enchiladas and has never gotten anything different, he loves them. I always go for the Mexican enchiladas plate with bistek! Those are really good, we love the Bahama mama drink which is a mixture of Piña colada and strawberry daquiri, it is very sweet though and I usually ask for no whip cream. I’ve tried other dishes in the menu, they’re pretty good as well like the quesadillas, gorditas and the fajita plates.

Am so glad I did not go by Unilocal reviews and gave this place a try! The food is delicious! Queso and both types of salsa are now a true favorite of mine! You have to have good chips, salsa and queso in order for me to come back and theirs hits the mark! Beef torta is excellent, ground beef gordita also excellent and tacos pastor are excellent! Everything we have ordered has been so good! Cant do 5 stars because the place is outdated and needs a good deep clean! Its a really cute place and has tons of potential but the booths are old and need new cushions and the place is dated! Food and service have been great and that’s enough to keep us going back!

I ended up here because I was getting car work done next door. The food is authentic Mexican and some of it is made with tripe(Google«tripe» if you don’t know what it is,) but at least they make it known and don’t try to hide it. Lots of Mexicans enjoy tripe. I went here for lunch not having read any reviews on the place. I ordered a diet coke and the nachos/enchilada plate. The diet coke took a little longer to get than I would have expected, but the food came out quickly. I was pleased to have my enchilada, beans, rice AND a serving of nachos all on the same plate. The food was good! Before the food came, they brought chips and salsa. I only had the green salsa — it’s VERY spicy which I loved. The service was very friendly, the food was good… the place seemed a little dark with only a TV showing soccer in Spanish but I wasn’t there to be entertained. Would definitely eat here again.

I’m giving the place 2 stars, and here’s why: The food was mediocre, at best. The salsa was somewhat watery, and it was so hot(spicy) it was not enjoyable. We asked for a large fresh guacamole as an appetizer, and what they brought out was a joke. It looked like canned guacamole scooped onto a plate with an ice cream scooper. It tasted old also. The chips were cold, and did not seem fresh. Now onto the worst part of the visit — cleanliness, or lack thereof I should say. Water standing on the floors, without warning cones. A lawsuit waiting to happen, if you ask me. We were seated in the back room, and the window blinds look like they have been chewed on by a full grown Rottweiler. There were dead bugs in the windowsills. And let’s not even get started on the men’s restroom! Disgusting! Needless to say, we won’t be back. Everyone in our group concurred on that.

This place is a joke. The lady that served was not very attentive. The order was wrong and she was not even apologetic. The only thing that was tasty was the corn chips. The salsa had no flavor at all. I am sure they are not making any money. Trust me. Management needs to look into getting this fixed.

i have been to this place two times. the second time is the last time. the food is ok but the service is horrible. they weren’t understaffed but uninterested. when i came in the door to be greated the male cashier had to go out of his way to get a waitresses attention when she finally did when she gave me a menu when i looked up to give my order she walked off and i WAITED and she never came back. i placed my order with another available waitress. while waiting i decide to wait at the bar for my to go order. that made my experience worse. the bartender was uninformed and was snippy. i ordered a house drink which was on sale. she had a snippy attitude as well and also overcharge bar me at the bar spoke to management and they did correct my order. after having a drink and making it home i look in my order and it was wrong again over. charged. when i made it home management said they will correct all wrongs when i come back all of this happen at 6pm on Friday before it get busy. enter at your own risk!!!

Nice folks, slow service, dingy smell, some decent food. to be found here. Just keep it basic. This venue is large maybe too large for it’s own good because it makes it look half empty. The menu looks endless. The skinny: Margaritas — Really sweet, pretty strong. Took 20 mins to come out after I reminded waitress since she forgot. She brought it out once the food arrived. Salsa — Ok. A bit runny. Not really spicy at all. Apps — Pastor Taco was not good. The Ham, melted queso sandwich looking dish was the favorite for my wife and I that night. I forgot the name. Entrée — Sour cream enchilada my wife had was not finished. The combo plate I had which included cheese enchilada, tamale, and something else was pretty nasty as was the crispy rice and over heated beans. I felt bad so I made it looked like I ate it by shuffling food around the plate. I didn’t want to offend the kitchen at the time. We were ready to leave after the entrée and didn’t stick around for the dessert options. I’m not sure I’d go back until they refined their menu and offerings, cleaned the place up, removed the 70’s and 80’s décor, and used better ingredients. It appears the more simple items like apps might be easier to make so it came out better. Other items that take more effort and time(marinading, seasoning, etc.) may require additional training in order to get the quality up to par.

We liked the salsa, that’s one of the things that will keep my husband from coming back to a mexican restaurant is crappy salsa. I have had the chili rellano & cheese enchiladas in the past, hubby had the barbacoa burrito & enchiladas. We’ve received good service & only had to wait about 5 minutes the first time we ate here. Food comes out quickly enough.

After being out of Texas for 2 weeks on vacation, we were excited to have some Real Mexican food! So we stopped at the El Alcapolco. The service was Real bad! They got ALL of our orders wrong(6 adults, all females). They also forgot to bring out some of the food we ordered! One order was missing two chalupas, one order was missing rice and beans, one didn’t get the corn tortillas she ordered and I didn’t get the flour tortillas I ordered. All the chalupas had about a teaspoon of beans right in the middle. My first thought was, «What the??!, Where’s the beans!!! Ridiculous! The cheese enchiladas were cold, the cheese on the inside was not melted all the way, and the 5 of us that ordered the refried beans agreed that they were way too salty! Being of Hispanic heritage, we cook and love eating Mexican food! This food did not taste good at all! Then to make matters worst, when we got to the register, they added the tip, for the waitress, to the bill! Really? To say the least we will never go back! And we told all our friends and family members.

Was here for a friends bday last night. I read everyone’s reviews before arriving so I would be prepared… My Coronas were both cold and NOT warm. As another review said, the salsa was watery and not a favorite of mine. I decided to play it safe with the food and went for the nachos. They were decent… Everything thing here is much like other reviewers described. They had live music outside which looked fun if you had a large group that wanted to sit out there. There was one incident however when the waiter was taking our drink orders… My friend only wanted water and after putting in the order for that we both noticed the waiter got an irritated look on his face, like why are you wasting my time just ordering water, which I thought was not cool! Then he brought everyone’s drinks except the water. Other than that the place was just okay. I would only go there again if it was to celebrate someone’s bday and they wanted it there!

If you hope to be the next Brad Pitt or Jenn Lawrence, do come here. From time to time they have a crew stationed in the back room of the restaurant, busily shooting movies. You PAY for the opportunity to be in the movie and IF the movie is successful, then you get your share of movie star pesos. I AMNOTKIDDINGABOUTTHIS. I saw it with my own eyes. I noticed at least 4 diff groups wearing their Sunday best, including rounds and rounds of gold around the neck, patiently waiting their shot at meteoric fame. I went there on a Sunday, looking for some reasonably priced Tex-Mex. After reviewing a menu with over 300 entries, I settled for chicken enchiladas. They were obviously frozen stuff, then barely reheated. It could have been that the movie director also happensed to be the enchilada chef, I don’t know… Don’t go here unless you have money to waste and high hopes of being the next Glitterati. «Wardrobe, Makeup, more chips, please»

Wow, I don’t know whether they straightened this place up since the last reviews, or we just got lucky. There was a bit of weirdness about our experience, but the food and margaritas more than made up for it. OK I’ll get the weirdness over with first. First, let me say I’m no stranger to Mexican joints. I’ve eaten in everything from holes in the wall to deluxe Mexican restaurants – both in Mexico and Texas. So being greeted with less than the hearty, loving reception that Americans usually want does not bother me at all. As long as service is reliable and the food is good, I’m ok. We were greeted by three different people when we entered, and each acted as if he was going to be our waiter, then promptly walked away. We weren’t sure who the actual waiter was until we sat down and a dude who was friendly but lacking in social skills came over. His service was slow, but then again so was he so we preferred to just laugh it off and enjoy the evening. OK well now for the goodness. I would describe the décor and ambience as «the people who come here love our food and we’re not trying to impress anyone otherwise.» Most of the table chatter was in Spanish – a good sign. They provided two salsas – one tomatillo and one red and loaded with chiles. Both were quite spicy and tasty – which I missed having landed in so many Tex Mex joints lately. That was another sign that we were in an actual Mexican restaurant. The next was the menu. I didn’t notice what another Unilocaler noticed as far as everything being listed as a House Speciality. I was just happy to see real Mexican offerings like mojarra frita and camarones a la diabla. So I ordered mojarra and my wife went with ground beef enchiladas with red salsa. Both tasted good. Now mind you, the mojarra was not as well seasoned as I would have liked, but it was good. And my wife really liked the enchiladas. Finally, the margaritas were stronger than the usual restaurant variety… not as strong as at El Vaquero in Stafford but strong enough to mention. We are planning to return tonight, so if this second experience is bad I’ll update…

How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways: 1. The hostess sits us at a booth that seats 8, yet, there are only 2 of us 2. As if a tiger previously lived there, the seats are ripped badly 3. Sinking into the booth, my head barely clears the table 4. Stale Chips + Watery Salsa = Big Mess 5. Nothing like Hot Beer!!! 6. In a maneuver an illiterate can appreciate, the menu consists of page after page of pictures 7. Salmon Salad 8. Asian Plate 9. Italian Plate 10. The sound of a bird chirping resonates 11. Chicken parmesan 12. Acapulco Ribeye 13. Penne pasta 14. Tiramasu . . To save time and energy lets skip) . . 75. There are 75 entrees on the menu, and they are all listed under«House Specialties» While paying, I notice the register is missing its outer cover(the electronics inside are visible) so I ask the cashier why is this? His response, «I don’t know». In my opinion, these are 75 reasons nobody should ever set foot into this restaurant. The service is lousy, the food is terrible, the ambiance is a joke, and the décor is horrible. This could be the worst restaurant in the entire city.

Stopped for lunch awhile back and had a horrible experience! It took too long for the waitress to take our order and then too long for us to get our food. The restaurant was ¾ empty. We ordered the fajitas for 2. When they brought the plate of rice and beans X2 mine had A ROACHWITHANEGGOUTITSBUTTONTHEPLATE!!! I jumped out of the booth and nearly knocked the poor lady down. I felt bad and everyone was shocked! We moved to another table and she brought different food.(I know we were stupid for not leaving immediately!) The beans and everything was room temperature! I wasn’t about to get Montezuma’s revenge in addition to eating roach crap. So I tried to tell them I wasn’t paying and we were leaving but none of the employees could speak good english! I can’t believe this place is in business!!! Stay away from this disgusting nasty place!
