I had a system installed on my boat. The installer drilled holes in the dashboard to mount the gps/​fish finder and had the hatch door open. He drilled a hole right into the door. Never even said they damaged it. When I showed the manager, they admitted damaging the paint and drilling into the fiberglass in two spots on the boat. Dropped something on the swim platform and chipped the paint there too. Management kept trying to assure me they would take care of the damage. Well, they lied. They stopped returning my calls and never repaired the extensive damage that they caused. Now I have the take them to court for the damages. They could have just returned my 2000 that I paid for the system. Now I have an estimate for repairs and repainting for over $ 4400. See you in court. I am a business owner myself and would never treat customers this way. I know many people in the area from my businesses. I will be telling everyone I know or meet to avoid this store at all costs. Alex was the manager I dealt with, but he never followed up on returning my money as he promised.

Very friendly group of guys here. The only downside is that I brought my car in at 9 to put a radio in and my car hasn’t been started on and it’s an hour later. Pick it up.

DO NOT GET YOUR WINDOWS TINTED HERE!
I got my windows tinted here over the summer and it turned out horrible. About three weeks after, I brought my car back because the all of the windows had bubbles and the cuts looked like they were done by a first grader. They said if I wanted my rear window redone I had to sign a waiver just in case they ruined my rear defroster. So I told them not to redo the rear window. Again I waited a few weeks and went back. This time only the right two windows bubbled. I had to have them redone again!
The back right window has bubbles but I refuse to go back to have it redone again. Also, I noticed that five lines across my rear window don’t defrost anymore. I called them and told them. They told me that there is no possible way they broke my defroster because they do their cuts on the outside. Well, rear defrosters don’t just break like that. Especially five random lines stop working. I will make sure none of my friends or family ever come here. It would’ve turned out better if I did my own window tint. And just so you know who to blame, it was the kid that drives the white Scion xb that tinted my windows and failed miserably.
They charge just as much as a profession window tint shop too.

When I was on search for a new head unit, this was one of the places I stopped. It’s in the middle of a bunch of different places that sell car audio, so I thought, why not?
They have a sizable selection of head units. For some reason, it seems like they were really heavy into truck boxes, sub speakers, and cabinets. Could this store be to blame for the noise pollution on Gratiot in the summer nights? Who knows. But they sell a ton of loud as hell speakers.
The selection of head units they carried wasn’t all that different than the places I’d stopped at before I came to Car Tunes. I’d heard their commercials on 89X, and was hoping to find a couple sales on a decent unit. I didn’t. It would’ve been a choice between buying a unit here just to… well, buy it there, or go back to Best Buy, Circuit City, or Mickey Shorr. I definitely didn’t stay at CT.
I did like that they offer installations assistance and the probably the coolest feature of the store: an Ipod repair service. They claim they can repair any model Ipod, and that’s a good thing to know. How their prices are, I haven’t the slightest, but it’s good knowing there’s a place not far that I can take my Ipod when it runs out of warranty and finally dies.
