So I just tried to order some tacos over the phone, because the last few times I went there, I had to wait 15 minutes to get my tacos when all the ingredients are already prepared they just need to build the tacos and hand them over, so that was completely ridiculous to me. Since I only get a 30 minute lunch at work and I work pretty close to this market, I thought it would be a good idea to call ahead of time and just pick my tacos up so that I may actually have time to eat them. First time I called no one picked up and the voice mail was in Spanish so I didn’t even know what they were saying, I hung up, tried again and the second time around a gentleman picked up. I asked if there was anyone who spoke English that I can speak with and he said no, I said oh okay I just wanted to order some tacos. All of a sudden he started to speak to me in English, after taking my order, everything was fine until he realized I just ordered 3 tacos. So he repeatedly asked me if that is it, and I kept saying Yes, next thing I know he just hung up on me! This place has good food yes, but very poor customer service! If you’e not their nationality you get treated differently! They only treat you nicely if it convenient to them. NEVERGOINGBACK. Customer Service is a deal breaker for me, no matter how good the food may be.

This place is by far THEVERYBEST Mexican food in Roseville. My wife and I go here every weekend for lunch and the food is amazing every time. I personally am not a huge fan of Mexican food so It generally wasn’t my first choice in the past until we found this place. They were cooking out on the patio last summer so we decided to stop and see what they were cooking. We had empanadas, carne asade tacos and rice and beans. We were hooked ! We now try and go every weekend that we are home. The prices are very reasonable and everyone is very friendly. Neither my wife or I speak Spanish so they are very accommodating and helpful… just went there today and looking forward to going next weekend !

Came here and the man in the meat section was very helpful and helped my bf find the salsa he’s been forever looking for. There was a slight wait in the checkout like but that’s no issue.

This is the best place to get marinated flank steak for BBQ. Look for the Arrachera marinated steak, which while not cheap, will wow your company at your next BBQ gathering

Finally the search for great Mexican food has ended. It is here, it does exist in this area, located at this market. For 6 years I have searched the Sacramento area from downtown to the highlands, from The hills of El Dorado to the Lin of rocks, forever disappointed, constantly Unimpressed. Learning to shut my mouth and enjoy what this area considers good Mexican food. Even on its best day Sacramento and the cities that Surround it produce mediocre Mexican food. If Sacramento were to be graded for the Mexican food on scale of 1 to 10 the best is a 5 the averages 3. People try«Caroline’s «corny Asada fries; Chandus«Carnitas Taco» and Viva La Rosa«Chile-Reino Burrito» are decent, but compared to this place, the«Carnicera Familia Lopez Market» they could all close their doors. It’s that good, here in Roseville less than a mile from where I live and work that I find great Mexican food… really great, authentic Mexican food. With all the spices, and flavors, and subtitles that Mexican food should have. I ate to Carne Asada tacos, Ceviche tostada, then picked up two tamales and a Coke in a bottle and everything was excellent. The Masa was light and buttery, the ceviche was fresh, with big slices of avocado and crisp tostada. But the tacos Asada tacos what did it complex wonderful cooked just right season just right prepared perfectly. If you’re still reading this long review hear this this is great Mexican food.

My mom & I came in today and were greeted by Maria! First thing you notice inside the store are the piñatas pinned to the the ceiling. They are beautiful(actually, I honestly first noticed was the huge bbq/smoker on their outdoor patio.) I love that they conveniently have hot food in here while you can get some shopping done. They’ve got a great menu that offers tacos, quesadillas, tortas, burritos, super burritos, tostadas, chips, salsa, rice & beans. YUM! That’s what we came in here for! So we went up and ordered– a few chicharrones, two carñitas tacos, two asada tacos-… While our mini tacos were being made, we looked around and ended up shopping. :-D My mom was making tamales and needed some corn husks. She also got a large bag of jalapeños… We’ve had their ceviche on occasion, which always seems to be fresh. There is a beautiful meat counter that offers chicken, beef, tripe, Carne asada, and more… the rest of the store has some canned goods, drinks, pastries, and more. With in a few minutes, our order was ready. We grabbed that and went to the front with our other goodies. Maria rang us up, she was very nice, and my mom was asking her about her tamales, how much and then asking her how to say some words in Spanish. We laughed as we were both trying to learn more. When we finally sat down to eat our mini tacos, my carñitas tacos had cilantro, onions and salsa. Same toppings on the asada tacos. They were mini’s, and each taco had a double corn tortilla layer, filled with delicious meat. I know my mom’s was good, but mine had great juicy flavor. I can’t wait to go back!

Late lunch/early dinner at Lopez Family Market. They have tasty burrito’s, taco’s, empanadas, tamales, & papusa’s! Sometimes the lines can be long, but it’s well worth the wait.

Small family owned Mexican market with a meat counter and food counter as well. The grocery section has just about everything you will need to make a Mexican meal, including a small produce section that features the basics such as limes, lemons, cilantro, tomatoes, and tomatillos. Meats are displayed in a well organized butcher case. The food counter has a nice selection of tacos and burritos, along with two or three different types of ceviche. You can purchase the items as a plate or ala carte. I like to stop in here on Friday after work and take stuff home for the family dinner… you can buy ala carte large, medium, or small portions of beans and rice and other items. They also sell tamales at the check out counter(pork, chicken, or beef). All are good with a nice ratio of masa to filling. You can feed a family of four to six pretty easy for well under $ 25 bucks. All in all this is a nice little family owned business with some good food. I’m picky about Mexican food and this is one of the better markets selling food to go that I have found.

Good stuff! This place has lots of good stuff. The chicharrones are outstanding. There is a good selection of meat and a good menu of prepared food as well as some nice looking pastries. The prices are not really low but good for the quality. The store has all the items you would need for a authentic Mexican meal.

This place used to be great you would think how could a great meat market serve bad Mexican fare? Well they raised their prices and started using crappy meat in their tacos and burritos. Seriously the Carne asada they use in their food is horrible. Not only is the meat full of fat and gristle but when you get to the end of your burrito grease is dripping out the end. So they raise prices and lower meat quality I will no longer be going back hear and will have to find my burrito fix elsewhere

Legit. Seriously best Mexican food in the Sacramento county area. I don’t live in the area anymore but whenever I come within an hour of here I make a detour so I can get lunch. The Chile Verde is amazing, tangy and citrusy and the carne asada is super garlicky and awesome. Seriously, go and you won’t be disappointed. Check out the mole and tamales as well. My favorite Mexican food in norcal!

OK, read this to the tune of VOLARE, then smile. Tamales, oh oh, so tasty, oh don’t you know. They have pork, or chicken or green chili n cheese. They are sold by the half or the dozen to please. They have also fresh meats and lots of sweets to eats and fresh chicarrones just to nosh. You can slice them, or crush them n make burritos of them, you know. But, their tamales! Oh oh! They are Wonderful. Orders to go. You can call in large orders just one day before. I wish that they could deliver it all to my door. I will have to keep going back to buy more n more. Seriously, great tamales, larger sized, moist masa, juicy meats. Sold by 6 or dozen. Preorder around holidays cuz they sell out. Mmmmmmm. General Mexican grocery. Friendly staff, takes cards or cash.

Stopped by here to pick up some beef to make Korean BBQ. The butcher was oh, so, friendly. He suggested I get the thin sliced sirloin. I bought a couple of pounds of it. I also noticed that they have a hot food section and noticed that they had a delicious looking shrimp ceviche. At $ 9.99 a pound, I asked the younger gal assisting if I could get a half pound. She, on the other hand, was as unfriendly as a person can be. Must of been a long day for her. After given the cold shoulder, we proceeded to the cashier, he was very apologetic about the wait time. There were about five customers in front of us, but the wait was quite long. Believe me, after the unpleasant experience with the woman behind the counter, I was ready to drop my goods and just leave! But, I waited. The kind gentleman made up for the experience. After I got home, I noticed that the cuts of the sirloin, was super fatty. I think I would’ve been better off going to a chain grocer. The ceviche lacked freshness and was mediocre. All in all, I’m not sure if I would make a special trip to come back. This is one of those places that I can just say I tried and probably won’t return.

Now this review is based in two parts for me. Part 1 is based on the Carne Asada Super Burrito I had and Part 2 is based on the Market itself including the fantastic customer service we received. And now a disclaimer: I have superior taste buds as well as olfactory senses… Its actually proven to be a bit of a blessing and a curse as to date satisfying my insatiable thirst and need for superiorly prepared, seasoned and fragrantly created food of all kinds but particularly the most beloved and coveted of Super Carne Asada Burritos is proving to be quite elusive… Which is why I tried this lil pad in hopes of finding a new joint to call my «Super Burrito Haven» … Although my burrito did not satisfy me in any way shape or form the AWESOMECUSTOMERSERVICE we received from each and EVERYONE of the employees working there as well as the CLEANLINESS of the shop must be acknowledged as I appreciated those two areas so much… Here’s the lowdown: CARNEASADASUPERBURRITO: Grade: a single star 1… Why? Although quite large, the beans were entirely too runny and like water and were completely devoid of any type of flavor. The carne asada: Chunks of meat also devoid of any sort of flavor what so ever AND entirely too fatty and grisly requiring me to spit out the more than plentiful pieces of them for one burrito or swallow them. I chose door number one. The salsa also lacked flavor with the exception of the cilantro which was all I could taste of it and I adore cilantro by the way however a perfectly made salsa allows you to taste all ingredients in it without having just one ingredient dominating. PLUS of the burrito was that it was quite underpriced for most coming in at $ 6 or less as its been a few weeks and I cannot recall the exact amount but it was under $ 6. I have to stress here however that I am clearly unlike most people in the fact that I do require serious flavor in all of my food and from the looks of the customers ordering and awaiting their food this place does do quite a bit of business it just didn’t satisfy my super burrito void. PLUS: Their fresh meat counter looked pretty damn amazing with a damn good selection and ALL meats displayed looked very fresh and super CLEAN. PLUS: Fantastic customer service from the guy at the register to all the people manning the food area. No joke here, they were all very pleasant, helpful and customer service orientated and we loved that. PLUS: Outdoor seating area consisting of several clean tables with surrounding bench like metal frames coated in a waterproof plastic/vinyl or some material that make them quite comfortable to dine outside while you eat and chat. I love eating outdoors myself and I loved the area and scenery of nearby neatly trimmed grass and large flourishing trees… I honestly wish I had fallen head over heels for the burrito but it just didn’t happen and so the search continues… However, that’s not to say that we won’t be back to give their fresh meat counter a spin… ;)

Shrimpies! Aka the reason I drive from Rocklin to this little Mexican market in Roseville way too many times a month. It all started one night at a friend’s house nearby. We were making sushi and they had picked up a container of shrimp ceviche from this market to go with. Forget the sushi, I was obsessed with these«shrimpies», as my friend called them, After spending the next few days craving more of those shrimpies, I decided to make the trip over to Roseville again and pick up a container. When I ordered the shrimp I was asked if i wanted it regular or prepared, which they explained meant with sauce and avocado. Decided to give the prepared a try and I am so happy that I did. SO delish! Clamato, ketchup, tapatio and pieces of avocado made the already amazing shrimpies my new obsession in life. I kid you not, I have a container of these shrimpies in my fridge right now. This is a market, so I suppose there are other reasons so go here and they do make other food — tacos, burritos ect but really the only reason that you need to visit Carniceria Familia Lopez Market is the shrimpies!

I’ve been here three times this week and I think this might be my favorite place to eat at. It’s mainly tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, and tostadas, but the other day they had sopes and they gave me a paper menu that says they have rice and beans to-go and a chili verde plate with everything. So all and all, I give this place a solid five stars, and although I’ve never gotten any head from a taqueria before this place does it nice and tender, and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a great Mexican experience.
