I’m just aiming this review at the owners. I went to your restaurant today to find that it closed down permanently. It was not a total surprise because the other three times we’ve dined there the service was pretty bad. You paraded having craft-beer, but the servers/bartenders knew almost nothing and wouldn’t chat about the options to those who enjoyed them. But honestly, that’s not why I’m leaving this review. I’m leaving this review because of the note left on the front door. The sign on the door read that you had to close down because of the outrageous minimum wage hikes and to implore us to seek change in that regard. Well, now all your troubles make sense! The service sucked because the management didn’t want to pay them and thus the incentive to give us diners an enjoyable experience went out the window. I am also confused how paying someone $ 8 – 9 an hour is unfair. That isn’t even a livable wage nowadays. I would have had some respect for the establishment if you had notified your guests that you will be raising certain prices to pay your employees what they deserved. Or at least, just thank those who tried you multiple times for our patronage. Instead, it was a bitter note with no professional decorum and for that I say to you good riddance.

Where art thou good food? Not here! Digby’s was a MAJOR disappointment. They started from the bottom… and they’re still there! God bless the broken road, that leads you away from here! We had pizza and burgers(pretty typical) and they were horribly cooked! We went during happy hour, a very unhappy hour. Our waitress refused to write down our order and got it terribly wrong. The pizza was soggy and soup-like and the burger was quote literally raw. Needless to say we will not be back.

I visited Digby’s on a trip to Rosedale to find the perfect dress as a wedding guest for the out of town event. I found it at Herberger’s after looking literally everywhere(people, this department store may not be Nordstrom but it’s not to be overlooked! Trust me). Where was I? Oh right. After the finding of the dress I needed some lunch. I noticed Cucumber and Tomato salad on the lunch menu and on a sunny day, what is more fresh and delish than that? The server was great and smiley. She provided plenty of lemonade refills for me. Yeah, Lady! I wasn’t in the mood for beer, but was impressed with their list of them. When my food came the tomatoes were drenched… ABSOLUTELYFLOODED with balsamic. That kinda ruined it for me. Keep it light, Chef Dressington — you don’t need to cover up the fact that I’m eating veggies; I CHOSETO! THEY’REGOOD! WHYAM I YELLING? I dunno. I just felt sad that my veggies were drowning and flooded in balsamic, causing them to go limp. The veggies were of great quality though — nice big tomatoes. YUM. If I ever go back, I will tell them to tone the balsamic down a notch and leave my veggies alone. Would have been a wonderful dish otherwise.

Eh. It’s Rosedale, you get what you get and you accept it, right? I miss Flame for their absurdly good prices on happy hour beer — and this place fills that void for me. They offer $ 3 – 4 tap beers, mostly a decent selection of micros, and of course wine and cocktail specials as well. The good news stops there. It seems they didn’t do a whole lot to remodel after California Pizza Kitchen closed — and there was a thick coat of dust on the decorative light-up shelf that ran along the wall beside the booths where we initially sat. They kept the big yellow-tiled oven for pizzas which were only $ 5 during happy hour, but my table-mates said the crust was so soggy that the ingredients just slid right off. Eventually they gave up on trying to eat the sad, gloppy pile of margherita pizza ingredients. There were also appetizer specials so my table-mates ordered Ellsworth cheese curds(they said«meh»), pretzels served with what appeared to be glowing orange«cheese» sauce like what comes with ballgame concession nachos(they said the pretzels were«totally not worth it»), and a taco salad served in a hardshell bowl(lol, these still exist? my stepdad said it was«spicy» but«just okay»). I did momentarily contemplate ordering food… the happy hour menu featured a $ 5.99-for-a-burger-and-fries deal that I asked about: on the regular menu, a burger and fries = $ 7.99 with no charge to substitute a turkey, chicken, or veggie patty. Bison patty = $ 3 more. So, I asked if I could take advantage of the $ 5.99 special getting a *veggie* burger and was told it would cost an additional $ 3. Doing the math in my head, $ 5.99 + $ 3 = $ 8.99, a dollar more than the REGULAR menu and definitely not a special. I clarified to make sure she hadn’t misheard me and thought I said«bison» — and still, she shook her head«$ 3 more for substitutions.» So, I am assuming the server was either misinformed or they just haven’t updated their menu but either way, I figured that a veggie patty at a place like this would likely be frozen /pre-packaged and thus probably not something I needed to try at full price(let alone a dollar more than full price). I also didn’t fully trust an item like fish tacos at a place like this, nor did I feel like springing for an entrée. Ultimately I decided to pass on the food altogether and was later told that I was the smartest person at the table for making this decision. I did have two beers at $ 3/each and feel fine about that. Like I said, I miss Flame — a place that ALSO did not have good food but had great beer prices during happy hour. So, when I need a beer at the mall, I know where to go. When I need food… well, thank goodness I have other options nearby.

This was the first time that I’ve eaten at Digby’s. Our server was great and had a nice sense of humor. We ordered the Reuben which was declared as the best Reuben you’ll ever eat. It was pretty darn good. We also ordered a margarita pizza. Which is something I enjoy a punch and I noticed they had a brick oven. Pizza was fantastic as well.

The first time we came to Digby’s was last summer and the service and food were not too impressive, but certainly not terrible, either. They were a new restaurant and like all new restaurants, they needed their kinks worked out in order to operate like a slick, well-oiled machine. Totally understandable. Second time around, things had improved dramatically! Mr. C. and I came here for dinner before watching Chappie at the AMC Cinema next door. We reserved a table on OpenTable and were seated immediately, in a nice cozy booth. Our server was fantastic, with just the right amount of attentiveness that we didn’t feel smothered or ignored at all. She was really great! We wanted the cheese curds again, with their housemade Ranch dressing. Delicious. Mr. C. got a Freewheeler and I drank water. We both ordered the Cowboy Burger and fries. Those burgers are huge! It has BBQ sauce, cheddar, bacon and a big fat onion ring on top! I was totally into it. Both of us ordered it well done, we don’t like burger meat to have any moo left in it.(Steaks on the other hand, different story) I really enjoy their exhibition kitchen, and they have a nice large bar area with lots of televisions. They have awesome craft beer on tap, including a nice variety of other drinks. The space felt very inviting and the atmosphere was relaxed and casual. It’s really the perfect spot to have a good dinner before the show, especially now that Flame closed down. Which still makes me sad. Thanks Digby’s. We will be back!

Can You Dig It? I had some free time on my hands between playing a little«puck»(that’s hockey) and attending a very important meeting and needed a little lunch. I was made aware of a new place in town that is apparently serving up delicious burgers and pizza’s and a burger and ice cold brew sounded perfect for the spring like weather we had on this particular day. Digby’s, located on the south side of Rosedale Mall just so happens to be the newest restaurant for me to visit and I sure am glad I did. A burger really did sound like a logical choice with such the great weather we were experiencing, so why not try a new guy in town. Like Digby’s even says, «It’s natures perfect food!» and I would have to agree. They serve them pink or no pink and the only way to eat red meat is for it to be mooing a little bit. I added some pepper jack cheese to my natures perfect food and waited for it to arrive. While I waited for my burger, the bartender said a magical word when I asked her about their wings, Whisky. Well… I can’t say no to an order of wings that are made with Whiskey, plus it was happy hours(yes, happy hours) so I ordered them and as I normally would, extra crispy. My wings arrived first and after one bite, I was in chicken wing heaven. These things were perfect and their Whiskey Glaze had the perfect sweet, tangy and full of flavor. These are a must get when you stop by yourself and I ranked them #3 on my wing challenge. You can find that by visiting my personal blog(see my profile for more information). My burger arrived and I noticed little chunks of meat falling off with melted cheese trying its best to hold on to it for dear life. My mouth started to water knowing that this thing was going to be juicy. I told the soon to be G.M., Charley that it reminded me of a burger found at a place like Smash Burger or 5 Guys, but with one BIG difference, Digby’s burger is full of tremendous flavor while the others are bland. Cooked exactly as described, perfectly pink and every single bite was as good as the previous. Lots of great pepper jack cheese to enjoy and I could have ate another. I washed all of my outstanding food down an ice cold brew and spent some time with the G.M. talking about how delicious the food was and that he has nothing to change. Keep it as it is and you’ll be successful! I suppose there is one thing that I would change… Make their S&P shakers a moving gadget, especially if it’s going to be two porkers in a particular position! I laughed out loud a little bit when the bar tender set them down next to me… So, can you dig it? Is Digby’s going to be one of your next spots to try when you’re looking for a great burger or some wings to enjoy? Maybe it will be one of their pizzas, something I would like to try when I return with my wife and child. Whatever your appetite might be, Digby’s will have something for you that is worth eating and enjoying.

My wife and I had a $ 20 Living Social for here, it is a weird one because in the fine print it says you can’t use it on Friday or Saturday. What?! We had already driven out to the one in Plymouth about a month ago when they said we couldn’t use it, so my wife was like«We are not going back to that one, they were jerks after we drove out there for 20 minutes, just not there.» I called this place and they said it was fine to use the voucher on Christmas Eve. They have a fantastic beer selection, which is written on the wall in huge lettering in chalk so they can easily rotate it. It is Roseville Mall, which was hopping on Christmas Eve. The décor was done up for the holidays, with ornaments hanging from the ceiling, very cool. Lots of TVs lined the wall and my wife and I got ourselves a booth in the bar. I ordered a Lucid Foto IPA, great beer. They are about $ 6 a pop, so not cheap. I ordered off the expansive menu a Buffalo Chicken pizza, no cheese. It took a while to cook, so our waitress brought us out a free appetizer of the pretzels. Yummy, with the beer cheese dipping sauce. Super nice of her. The pizza had been burned a little, so they cooked us up a fresh one. They didn’t even bring it out, because it wasn’t up to their standards. The pizza was AMAZING. It was on par with Old Chicago’s Buffalo chicken cheeseless pizza. Which is tough to do. The heat of the Buffalo sauce is just a little hotter than OC, which I am a big spice guy, tasted a lot like Frank’s hot sauce, but creamier. The crust was doughy, yet well cooked, as to not taste raw. Scrumptious. I ordered an Old Friend winter warmer from a local brewer, Indeed. Yummy, but spicy and unique. I finished off with a Slope Style Winter IPA by Boulder. A solid IPA. To top it off, they gave us the pizza for free, since it was about a 20 minute wait, due to the burnt first one. Great service and food equals 5 stars.

More of a 3.5. The service was excellent all around. Very nice hostess, manager and server. Our server was very attentive and really catered to our parties needs. Now to the food. I am always in search of the best reuben. The menu and its slogan saying the«best reuben ever”– I was on board. My dad and I each ordered the reuben. I opted for the onion rings as my side. Now it’s rare that I ever leave a reuben behind or an onion ring. I ended up leaving almost half of it behind. The bread was super soaked in butter. Way too much for my liking. The short rib mixed in with the corned beef =Meh. It just wasn’t my thing. Sandwich was bland. I had such high hopes… It wasn’t terrible, but certainly not the best reuben I ever had. The search continues… The onion rings were super greasy also. It’s almost like the onion evaporated and it was just a greasy ring of oil. Mom ordered the stroganoff which she menioned had a bit of a different taste to it. J ordered the Duck salad which he said was surprisingly good. The booths are nice and spacious and the tables are nicely situated so not everyone is on top of each other. I would maybe go back and try some of the burgers.

Very strange review to have to write. It could really be a 4 star or a 1 star, depending on how you weight certain things when you go out. Here’s my take. The ambiance was a little odd. Sporty, hipster, brew pub kind of place? Whatever, I’m a goon that ate at Modern Times Café, ambiance/setting matters not to me! Went to Digby’s on a date. First, don’t do this. The table setting and noise is such it’s not a solid date place. Which worked out for me because half way through the date I was thrilled I could barely hear anything. Brief wait to be seated, no biggie, it’s a Tuesday night… wait. It’s a Tuesday night and a wait at 6.30? Ok, good food? Maybe. Get seated. Five minutes later the waters arrive. I open up my napkin and the fork has got remnants from it’s previous meal crusted all over it. Yippee! Free meal from whoever ate with this fork last, wonderful way to get going. I had a choice to make, short rib reuben or bison blue burger. I ask the waiter, who gives me NO direction what so ever. I understand you’re likely busy and you don’t care. But give me something here. Don’t just tell me «they’re both really good.» No shit Sherlock, it’s why I’m asking for a recommendation. I go for the buffalo burger with no help from the waiter. Wasn’t feeling any spuds so I went with a side salad of artisan greens. I’d say 10 minutes later the chow arrives. Burger has got some heft to it, and isn’t small by any means. I get my new fork so I don’t taste what looked like mac and cheese or stroganoff that was crusted on. Salad was tasteless even with a vinaigrette that came on it. At least, it could have been water on the lettuce and not dressing — who knows, I couldn’t taste anything. The burger itself. A decent slab of buffalo with some tomato, blue cheese on it, and all on an onion roll. Let me start by saying I’m glad I went with rancid cheese and onion roll. Talk about a great excuse to not kiss a date! The bun itself held up wonderfully for the task at hand. Didn’t sog up or give way at all. The burger was a bit overdone. I asked for some pink in there, and got what most would call a medium to well area with the faintest of pink showing. No biggie. Great flavor from the natural flavor of the buffalo with the blue cheese spread on it. Throw some spicy bacon on this bastard to help go with the blue cheese some more and you’ve got yourself a burger that I’d put up there against most. Back to the waiter who decided we weren’t worth of being checked on the entire meal, awfully nice of him to allow us to eat in peace without asking if we needed anything — like a side of dressing or something to go with my salad. Will I be back? Depends. If I’m going to go to Rosedale for some reason, I may stop in and bar it up for that short rib reuben, but, I won’t go out of my way.

This place is not bad but it’s also not good. I feel a little guilty only rating Digby’s two stars since our waiter was super nice and attentive… The service is fantastic but the food is pretty average. Solid, but average. I think it’s cool that it’s not a franchise even though it’s located in a major shopping mall. I had wings, fries, and part of a western themed burger… and TBH I am having a hard time remembering my dining experience which suggests a generic experience. It’s pretty much a trendier Applebee’s. Overall, the atmosphere is fun and it seems to be poppin on weekends but it falls short when it comes to memorable menu items. I might return in the future to give it another try but am not really in a rush. It’s also a little pricier for the type of food it offers… Side note: parking is easy, it’s located right next to the AMC so there’s plenty of spaces.

As far as sports bars and restaurants go, Digby’s is clearly a notch above the rest. I’ve finally found a place where I can devour a succulent burger while watching the NFL Network. #allthingsman #hallelujah When I was running some errands in Roseville, the other day, Digby’s noticeable blue exterior caught my attention and kept calling my name.(«Eat here, Jonathan. I won’t let you down, champ!») Glad I listened to my belly. The space is huge, and despite being lunch time on a weekday, Digby’s was buzzin’. I sat in one of their plush booths and ordered their house made Salty Baked Pretzels and Mushroom Swiss Burger. Overall, I thought my meal was solid! Salty Baked Pretzels: I found the pretzels to be a bit dry, but the side of beer cheese dip kicked so. much. ass. With a good cheese drench, they tasted mighty fine. Shoot, this dip could make ANYTHING go down well.($ 8.99) *Note: Digby’s, if you’re reading this, please make a Philly Cheese steak and smother it with the beer cheese dip!) Mushroom Swiss Burger: My inch thick burger satisfied my «I-need-some-meat-now» cave man hunger, almost immediately. This succulent fatty awesomeness between two puffy buns was tasty.($ 12.99) Side Of Wild Rice Soup: Finally, a restaurant that does not skimp on ingredients! My only regret is that I didn’t order a huge bowl of it. Service: I appreciated my sweetheart of a server for checking up on me throughout my meal. Price: A tad on the higher side, but still very reasonable. Every couple months, my girlfriend and I catch a show at the AMC right next door. Next time, I’ll know where to go for dinner, and I’ll be sure to order a drink from their robust selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Or maybe, I’ll come back to watch my Vikes stomp on their opponent. If you have a hankerin’ for a hearty meal and reside in the north burbs, checking out Digby’s is a must!

I love trying new places! This place is pretty neat! A little pricey($ 12 for a burger) but nothing too bad. We chose to sit outside on the patio. All I’m gonna say is that it was prime for people watching! We ordered an appetizer, cheese curds! YUMMO! The breading wasn’t your usual crumbly kind and it was really delicous! For my dinner I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger… with bacon! There wasn’t anything extraordinary about the burger. It was tasty and hit the spot. My friend ordered the pesto pizza. ITWASSOGOOD! Thin crust, pesto, mozzarella and pine nuts. I would definitely come back and order this. The table next to us ordered some pretzel sticks with cheese… they looked so good, but we were already stuffed so they’ll have to wait till next time. Overall, I’ll for sure be back. maybe next time I’ll sit inside though. We didn’t get to see what it was like on the inside because we were on the patio the whole time.

The five stars are for the great service and the homemade pretzels. Our server was really invested to make sure we had a good time. We sat outside and it was a great day(I can’t give a star for good weather, or can I?). The pretzels were really good and golden brown with a nice crunch that went well with the beer cheese –dip, dip. I would definitely return.

As early 30-somethings who moved to the ‘burbs from the city, my husband and I are always on the lookout for a good happy hour deal that is within 10 minutes of our house. We think we may have found our new spot in Digby’s! Let me start by saying that the location of Digby’s is going to make it tough sell for some people because well, it’s at a mall. I hate the mall. None of my friends go to the mall, let alone go to the mall to drink. My husband and I have already pitched going here with friends by saying, «We know it’s at the mall, but the happy hour is amazing!» The tap selection is one of the better ones in this part of the metro. There is only one macro on tap(Mich Golden Light) and the rest of the taps are a great selection of microbrews; I seriously can’t think of any place else in the metro where I can get Deschutes Fresh Squeezed for $ 3.00. I have no idea why anyone would want to drink the terrible(and really overpriced!) beer at Granite City when they could drink from the great selection at Digby’s. So, besides the amazing $ 3.00 taps, we were SUPER impressed with the happy hour pizza. For $ 5.00, you can get a 6″ version of any of the pizzas on their menu(not just cheese or pepperoni like we assumed it would be). I had the pesto pizza, my husband had the margarita. They were both really, really good. I have yet to find anywhere that will do a happy hour pizza special like that. We will try the taco basket the next time we are back! Haters are going to hate. Digby’s, you sold us.

Wow. A Unilocaler who forgot to check in. Shame on me! I’ll add a review instead. So Digby’s has opened up recently at Rosedale where California Pizza Kitchen used to be located. Don’t let the outside fool you. My coworkers and I have talked about trying it out, but as they advertise«Burgers, Beer and Pizza», we’ve opted for other places. And it’s not inviting on the outside. Today we thought we’d check it out, and when we walked in we said, «Wow.» It’s a lot more inviting and fun once you pass through the doors. That’s their secret! The menu has a lot more variety and flavored than what you think. Our server, Scottie(who was not wearing a red shirt and talking about dilithium crystals), was very nice. The chili was a little sweet for my taste buds, but that didn’t stop me from polishing it off. Rebecca ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger and said it was the best burger she’s had in weeks. I ordered the Kitchen Burger with picked peppers and it was very tasty. The table next to us ordered a pizza that smelled delicious. We said we wanted to come back and try some of the beers. You may think this would compete directly with Granite City right next door, but as they cater to different markets, I think they will be okay.

I came here to meet up with a group of people. They have a decent selection for local craft beers. That’s always a good start. Of course when I’m trying someplace new, I have to do try the nachos to do a proper(announcer voice) NACHOREVIEW! Let’s start off with the presentation; a big pile of chips covered with toppings. There were options for chicken or beef, I chose neither for the pure nacho experience. It came out on a big plate with the center piece being a big scoop of guacamole. Underneath was a white sauce, which was almost a sour cream/cheese mixture that I wasn’t too keen on. Under that was the real cheddar that is a must for all proper nachos. Sprinkle on some tomatoes, onions and lettuce and we have nachos. So that was just a basic nacho from my stand point. The chips held up to the sauce used and managed to stay crunchy. However, the amount of salt on them was way over the top. This is the killer for the nachos. If something is too salty to eat, that’s just plain wrong. I also found the lack of spice to the nachos a little disturbing. Where were the jalapenos? Maybe a little hot sauce on the side? Over all, I’d have to say pass on these nachos. They weren’t anything special and even a tad below average. If you need to order an app here, then by all means go with the bacon donuts. That’s going to be their claim to fame.
