Ethan Allen

I think the furniture was nice… expensive but nice. From just the looks of things, furniture seemed well constructed. The reason I give them two stars, however, is because I don’t feel the service was very good. I can probably buy anything in that store, but maybe I don’t look like it… I guess. I did buy a clock but I thought they put me through the third degree. I mean, can’t you at least act like you’re happy to take my money? Barely a thank you. It won’t stop me from going there if I want something but I’d feel more comfortable in the store if they acted like they appreciated my business. I’m really torn between two and three stars. Three stars for quality of merchandise vs. price (it’s a little high) but two stars based on service. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt because I might buy something from them again. I’m not saying I would never go back.

Design services are a joke. My husband and I made an appointment to see a design consultant (i.e. Salesperson) and were basically shown the door after refusing to provide a firm budget amount. I was told over the phone that a design appointment would be to determine our style and preferences, but one of the first things the saleswoman said when we sat down was that she expected us to buy their furniture. I felt this was a tactless start. She then asked specifically how much we planned to spend on a rug, to which I stated $ 1,500. This figure clearly did not meet with her approval as she then gave us a questionnaire and told us to return when we had a a more compatible budget. Had she taken a few moments to share some pricing, ideas, suggestions or samples, we could have easily moved forward, but because of this terrible and borderline humiliating experience, we will never return.

The Husband and I came to Ethan Allen on our bedroom furniture hunt because we already own some other Ethan Allen furniture and love how it’s held up throughout the years through my Husband’s kids growing up and many moves.
I expected the prices at Ethan Allen to be astronomically high, but they were comparable to most of the other nicer furniture stores which was a nice surprise!
The showroom was rather large and was separated into many different rooms each with its own theme. I loved the way their showroom was set up, I just wanted to take how they had whole rooms set up and do the exact same thing at home. They had a lot of bedroom, dining room, living room and patio furniture most of which can be customized to your taste.
We were greeted immediately after entering by the receptionist behind the counter and introduced to a nice sales associate not too much longer afterwards. What was nice was that she introduced herself and left us alone to look around which we loved, only checking back in occasionally. No pressure.
We grabbed a catalog as we left to pick everything out at home and then order it at the store when ready. We love the look and quality of Ethan Allen furniture so we are definitely getting everything that we need here.

Been buying furniture at Ethan Allen for a long time. Not any more, however. Sofas and chairs are «smaller» but look the same. Quality is lower than past, at least with our upholstered sofa.

Ethan Allen had wonderful staff that was more than happy to spend time with my wife and I, helping us go through chair and table options, fabric options, etc.
They offered free in-​home design/​planning/​decorating/​measuring as well as free delivery. They did it with a smile and, after two terrible experiences at Thomasville, were a pleasant and welcome surprise.
Despite our young age (late 20’s), the staff at Ethan Allen treated us with respect and seemed genuinely interested in helping us out.
And the furniture is top-​end too. Great stuff. We’ll be back, often.

Loads of beautiful furniture to look at and friendly staff that don’t suffocate you.
Just wish I could afford a chair alone!
