Fantastic simple Mexican food. A very friendly family was very helpful in helping me select what only be described as a «Perfect Burrito»

Holy cow! $ 8 for a carnitas burrito and two pork tamales. The family is from Guadalajara and the food is authentic. They are so friendly. The carnitas was juicy and seasoned like carnitas should be. The tamales weren’t dry and homemade.

Great burritos! I am a big fan of this place. The meat for your burrito is cooked to order! Wow! That is unheard of. Usually it is scooped out of a vat of warm meat. They cook the meat with their homemade pico de gallo which imparts a unique smoky tomato flavor to the protein choice. I, also, have fresh Jalapeños cooked with my protein. I have had pollo, asada and pesce and been ecstatic with the results. The salsa they make is quite good, as well. I think it is great with the chips and with the burrito, so get a second. This place is outstanding every time! Highly recommended!

My mom and I just got a dozen carnitas tamales… they are the best I’ve ever had. I saw the light when I took a bite. My mom and I are now planning to have these for our family New Years Meal because they are such a treat. The daughter is very sweet, the mother is passionate about her food and serves it as she would to her own family. Everything was fresh, prepared before our eyes and, best of all, it was reasonably priced.

This was just what I needed! Not GRINGO Mexican food. Until now I had to go to South Sac. to get food like this. The Carnitas in my burrito was super flavorful and tender. The beans and salsa were full of flavor as well. No ambience, mediocre service just great food!

Fast and friendly service! Food is excellent and the price is very resonable. They catered our party of 10 and the amount of food they gave us was beyond enough for 10 people. Plenty of extras to go around. Chicken was tender, carne asade was bomb, chips were fresh and the guacamole was to die for…

Such a good experience! Was helped right away despite the eating area being pretty crowded. My order was very specific and my food was made accurately. I was given a really good deal because there was no meat in my burrito, and I appreciated that. Service was fast and friendly, and my burrito filled me up! Only complaint would be that it’s located kind of in a tough spot so you have to do some manuevering in your car to get there. But it’s well worth it!

This is the real deal — thank-you, Unilocalers! Cabeza quesadilla(delicious) and 2 Negra Modelos for less than $ 10. Very convenient to the Kaiser Roseville campus!

The family wanted Rubio’s and that seemed boring but being the agreeable fellow that I am, I agreed to pick it up. I decided I would make a little detour and try El Charro on Lincoln but they were closed, next I tried Better Foods Deli and they were closed as well. Stopped by this place by accident and couldn’t have been happier. Ordered the Carne Asada Super Burrito. It is massive and cooked to order. After my order the cook put the asada on the flat top. It comes with rice, refried beans, sour cream, guac and queso fresco. Delicious! What a gem.

I have had Mexican food at hundreds of locations in the area. I heard about this place from a friend and had remembered eating there years ago and the food was not that great but decided to give it another try. All I can say is outstanding! This is a family owned restaurant that cleaned things up and is focusing on the food. The mom was off cooking my Asada for my burrito and wrapped it all up in a fresh tortilla for only $ 4.50 out the door. The meat was high grade no gristle and the salsa, rice and beans were outstanding. They even have a super burrito which is double the size. I saw many shrimp dishes listed, Birria you name it. They even have quarts of Pacifico and Corona like they have in Mexico. Give this place a try you will be glad you did!

This is one of our favorite places to get Mexican food. The tortas are a great deal and delicious. It never disappoints. We live so close and visit every couple weeks. The kids always enjoy anything we bring them back.

There are 3 Mexican food places right across the street from each other off Douglas. I didn’t want to go to Carolina’s and randomly chose this place. It’s a hole in the wall so don’t expect to be wowed by the interior of the place. But you’re coming for the food not ambience. The food feels homemade and authentic. I had a lengua burrito in a bowl and it was delicious. My coworker had the chicken soup which he couldn’t stop raving about. The chips and salsa were pretty below average though.

This is a little Mexican market that has prepared food. Steak super burrito-3.7 stars and was full of meat and light on rice and had some cooked bell pepper and onion in it which may have come from the rice, but was a nice touch. Carnitas street tacos– 3.5 stars would have been at least 4 stars if they weren’t some of the driest I’ve had. Steak torta– 3 stars It was only $ 3.75 and on the small side but you have to have good bread to make a good torta, and this bread was lacking. Chips-below average salsa– average So all in all I would give this place 3.5 stars, but that’s just one guys opinion who likes to eat Mexican food.

Morenita Market and Taqueria is located on Douglas Blvd., across from Roseville Square Shopping Center. I have been passing by this location for years and never really noticed that it was more than a small grocery/convenience store. Outside signage is easy to miss. They indeed have a great little deli, serving authentic tacos and burritos. Carnitas is especially good. A variety of homemade salsas are available to go with the free chips they provide with any meal. I found the tacos to be just about as good as any in the Roseville area. $ 2 each, but a couple will fill you up. Burritos are huge, tamales @ $ 1.50 are a bargain. There are several small tables inside for dining, and of course take out is popular. The market is very well stocked with a variety of Mexican drinks, along with the usual Mexican deli supplies, giving the market a real south of the border feel. Family owned and operated. Courteous and pleasant service. If you want to have the authentic feel and taste of good Mexican deli food, this is the place. Open 7 days a week 8 am til 8 pm.

Wonderful hole-in-the wall type joint. I have been back several times and enjoy it greatly. I only wish the TV volume was a bit lower. The meat has a wonderful flavor, and the staff is very friendly. The owner always brings salsa out for my son which is much more mild.

I am very particular about Mexican food being Hispanic, I must admit this is the real thing! The carnitas are spectacular, tender, juicy, savory; the rice has authentic taste, not bland and the frijoles are what I remember growing up with. Yes, the atmosphere could be improved upon, but the service an food are wonderful, that beats any want-to-be! Very helpful staff! They also have Mexican pastries! So glad I found this place!

I’m a big fan of Tex Mex, I love sour cream and lettuce with my Mexican food. So it wasn’t the best burrito I have ever had but this place gets a 4 star because of it’s authenticity and realism. Food: Carne asada super burrito was good in size and had nice flavors. Ambiance: The taqueria is located inside a really small market which when you walk into feels like you’re in a general store in Mexico. It kind of has that 3rd world feel. Every other customer was hispanic, so that probably says something about how authentic the food was. Service: Mom and pop chefs, who don’t speak English, their son takes the orders. Price: $ 6 for a burrito $ 2 for a taco, cash only. Overall: I haven’t been to every Mexican restaurant in Roseville but if you want a place that makes you feel like you’re in Mexico, check out Morenita Market.
