Porters House of Draft

It was finally date night and we had been wanting to go check out Porters the new Pub in W. Roseville. We had a great time… the bartender Jason took his time to fine tune my wife’s choice in wine. after she was not in love with the first wine she tried. then it was my turn… I am not a fan of every beer on the planet. so helping me to find my groove was fun if not a bit challenging. we finally decided… that I am a fan of Belgian style beers and also «white» beers. I recommend the Goose Island 312. American Wheat if you like a beer lighter in color and not hoppy… The ambience is great filled with locals. the food was great too. We had the Monterey Bacon Ranch chicken sandwich. had this with sweet potato fries. delicious! will definitely recommend and be back!

would not go again. Great draft menu, excellent wait staff but owner gave a cold shoulder to my table (after speaking to every other table in brewery) and there are other draft houses in Roseville that probably want all types of customers.

Hella good. Got chicken burger and their bun is so freakin’ good. Also, the bacon on it was legit. No dat. Was kinda thick cut ham’ish. (But bacon)
Highly, highly recommend. Awesome addition to Roseville.
Side note: if ever closed down, it’s your location is all. Open up in diff spot and you’d be talk of sac.

This is the real thing! A real Draft house in Roseville. Couldn’t tell you how many Taps they have– lost count of the Amazing beer choices!
The staff is friendly, knowledgable and can help you make a decision from the wide variety of choices.
It doesn’t stop there… The food is not your typical «bar food» the Wings, burgers, tacos and huge salads are delicious. Must give this place a try!!!

Went in just for beers the other day. Quick service, good variety of local beers and fairly priced. Nice place to hangout and grap a drink.

Nice spot in Roseville. The staff greeted us right away and told us to take a seat wherever. The place was surprisingly busy 3pm on a Friday. Nice atmosphere, kind of a chic, pub feel. Our food came out very quickly. The hamburger is HUGE, and the sweet potatoes fries are good. I took one star off because I asked for no tomato on my hamburger, and there was one, additionally my side salad was covered in diced tomatoes. My dad enjoyed his «white boy tacos» but said they were cold.

Update: Really bummed… The «best fried chicken» statement below no longer applies. They completely changed the chicken; weird spice, non-​existent breading, from larger generous portions to what looked like 3 sickly nuggets. Their explanation for the change was they were taking a healthier approach. News flash Porters, I’m not going to your restaurant to eat a sprig of local endive. The wait staff is excellent though… The stars are for them.

Great beer with 28 on tap. Food is great along with the great customer service. Love this place!

This spot came as a recommendation from Unilocal.We were really excited to check this spot as a new cool spot for craft beers and looks like pretty good food also… in Roseville.
So why the sh*tty review you ask? Lol. We walk in, walk right by a waiter, nobody says nothing. This place is TINY. We walk in, there is no where to sit. The waiter sees us a walk in, the bartenders see us walk in… nobody greets us. You know, «hi, we’ll be right with you.» Or, «it’s gonna be like a 20 min wait folks.» NOTHING. So my husband and I look like weirdos just wandering around, trying to figure out… shall we wait? And where do we wait?
So, i don’t care how good the food or beer is, the customer service sucks. And as someone who isn’t a fan of having people in my personal space, this place is packed in. And as small as this place is, they have this super long ass table in the middle of the room. So if three people sit down, it’s kinda awkward to have the whole table… but hey, if you reserve the table for like, your soccer team… then it’s a cool spot. I don’t know about you, but I’m not wasting a dime on a business that doesn’t care to keep new customers… especially when they just opened. We won’t be back. We’re off to Boxing Donkey where they actually care about their customers and the food is probably better. Hollllaaa!

This place is awesome. Cool industrial atmosphere with football games playing. The chicken wings are amazing! They aren’t the traditional buffalo flavor but taste great. We have been 3x now in the past week and a half and will continue to be loyal customers. I do wish they made micheladas/​bloody beer because I can’t stand beer by its self but that’s my personal preference…

This place has gotten much better than when they first opened. I was rather upset after we first went here and they were really not ready to open as soon as they had. The kitchen is now working and they do have some tasty food which is quite good. I will say that they need to cook their meat a tad more as it comes about one step undercooked as ordered (medium instead of medium-​well) It is a bit pricey so I don’t think I will be coming to this place as often as I would like but they do have some great beer and ciders, etc. on tap.

The beer selection was great and the staff was friendly. Fries were tasty and so were the onion rings but I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and it was dry and unfulfilling.
The menu said it was on sourdough but it was on a dry piece of focaccia with little filling and in dire need of butter or something to hydrate the meal.

The food on the other hand was not that great at all. Me and my boyfriend ordered the wings to start and they came out so fast when I took my first bite they were cold, they didn’t even serve them with any kind of dipping sauce. I order the Philly burger, the meat was dry and lacked flavor but the pretzel bun that it was served on was good. I would def come back for a beer but not for the food. :(

A great Craft Beer & Wine, small bar feel with great food and cool people/​atmosphere!
BTW Porter, and his bar manager (I forgot his name) are really fun people to chat with. They talk to you not down to you :-)

Delicious! Great beer, delicious food, quick service, cute environment. This place has it all! Really dig this place and will totally be back!

This place is my new go to place for Burgers! I ordered the California Burger and it was delicious. My brother ordered the All American and before I could look over he had finished it. The pretzel bun puts the burgers over the top.
The cherry on top is the beer selection. So many craft beers on tap and bottled. I’m ready to go back!

Great beer selection — The Shake Chocolate Porter is one of the best beers I have ever had and I have had many through the years!
Great décor — an interesting industrial rustic thing going on
Food was great as was the Salted Caramel dessert.
Service from the lady at the bar was outstanding (Alexia I think). Many great recommendations.
Con:
The only reason they didn’t get 5 stars was the service/​vibe of the male employees one of which may have been the owner. We had a beer question that the lady serving us at the bar couldn’t answer. It seems the guys were too busy to answer the question one was cooking– so I get that, the other was doing the books or something on a laptop at the end of the bar. No big deal we forgot about it until a group of regulars came in and the guy came out of the kitchen and BSed for a good chunk of time. I get it, I get regular treatment at several places but at least try to free up to answer a beer question in a pub. Overall a very minor issue.
Price — not a Pro or a Con. The price was a bit on the high side but the products were all of high quality so I would say it is fair pricing. You get what you pay for and this is not a Coors and peanuts on the bar type place.
Definitely worth a visit and then many return trips.

We wanted to try this place since before it opened so we finally made the trip today. Food was outstanding. The onion rings were yum and the burgers incredible.
The beers on draught were tasty and the service was great and personable. We will definitely be back and bring friends!

I want to love this place and I’m sure I will at some point.

The food was OK at best. We shared a sandwich and dessert but average at best.
The beers expensive I thought. $ 7ish a pint.
For locals right in the neighborhood you will love this place because it’s close without many ones options. If I lived right there I’d prob be there a lot. But I don’t live there and too many other options elsewhere.
