This place has the best food. Good tasting chicken finger the duck sauce makes my taste buds explode of deliciousness. The rice is great as well the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the staff can be very rude. Other then that expect the russian guy from seinfeld no soup for you!!! Attitude.

Ordered delivery. Driver showed up really quickly. Food must have been premade. He gives me the food and rushes off. When I go in my house I realize something is missing I call him back no answer. Then I called Dragon Chef. The person that answered the phone called me a liar and hung up the phone. Unbelievable yet they charged my credit card for the full order amount. I called back again. they answered the phone but when they realized it was me again they wouldn’t talk. How unprofessional is that. Never again.

My friend and I stumbled(quite literally) upon this place when we realized that the Pita Market next door was not a place where scrumptious pitas are made to order, but in fact a market which happens to sell pita bread. So we decided why not, lets try this place!(the name of which we did not know until postpartum. from the Dragon Chef) My friend ordered the Pork egg foo young with pork fried rice. The lady behind the counter told us this will be «gravy.» And she was right, my friend’s dish looked exactly like an Asian/Pilgrim fusion Thanksgiving fried rice. She claimed it tasted good! I did not choose to embark on that adventure. I ordered the General Tso chicken, but was redirected by the lady to the«General Gau» chicken on the menu. I ordered it because apples to apples right? To my pleasant surprise, the General Gau chicken was an almost perfect rendition of the General Tso. It might have been slightly spicier. The dish was just the right temperature(don’t you hate lukewarm food?) and satisfied my famished stomach. The service was speedy too, probably because we were two of three customers. Anyway, I wouldn’t recommend this place to those seeking authentic Chinese cuisine, but if you’re one of those individuals who, like me are occasionally(too often) attacked by cravings for glistening fried chicken which you can never figure out how to recreate on your own, give Dragon Chef a try!

Yuck. I stopped here on a late-night run home, and it was pretty gross. Rangoons weren’t too terrible, but I couldn’t go past one star because I had to throw out the gray, gross meat from the pepper steak.

Best chinese take-out in Roslindale. Gotta try the general gau’s, the pork lo-mein, crab rangoon or the chicken/broccoli. YUM!!!

I’m under the impression that the mysterious Dragon Chef hates me. I’m assuming this because no other relationship that I’m aware of could persuade a man to give another man the food that this chef gave me. My wife and I ordered take-out from Dragon Chef: beef lo-mein, sweet and sour chicken, fried wantons, and beef teriyaki. Let’s go through this blow by blow. Beef Lo-Mein: This was a pile of mush. That, in itself, is almost forgivable, but it also had an overwhelming flavor of burnt soy sauce and rotten cabbage. Couldn’t eat it. Could not. I’ve eaten at Charlie Chan’s on Centre St. in a pinch, but this was insufferable. Sweet and Sour Chicken: This was a box of mediocre chicken fingers and a tub of pink corn syrup. It didn’t taste like sweet and sour sauce. It tasted like Karo with pink dye. That they were separated was confusing, too. I’ve never ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken and had it presented that way. We ate them plain because the sauce was so bad. Fried Wantons: These were light and crisp, but had nothing in them. Some of them had some really hard substance that I imagine was once a cream cheese or something, but as a rule, it was just fried, empty pastry. Beef Teryiaki: This was not bad. It was pretty run of the mill, and acceptable. I can’t imagine ever going here again for any reason. If i was suffering from a white rice deficiency and Dragon Chef was the only restaurant in the state, I’d let my muscles atrophy rather than patronize this culinary nightmare.

Have purchased take out here around 3 times in 2011. In my opinion it is one of the better Chinese take establishments in Roslindale Square. Give it a try if you happen to be in the area. Update(Apr 2015) — Have continued to order take out since my original 2011 review and the food continues to be good. Have also ordered from there every New Year’s Eve. Thanks for the read. – Jeff

Blah!(That’s me gagging at the thought of this place). This place is disguising! I will never come here again. I went there one day because I was starving to death and craving some Chinese food. Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! I had some beef and broccoli combo dish. It was more broccoli and sauce than actual beef(cheap/rip off). The beef was ok in flavor. The broccoli I could tell was not washed because it tasted like wax! The service is just as bad as(if not worse) than the food. The décor of the place was decent– I guess– but not very inviting. When I sat down to eat my food, the table and the chair was very sticky. Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! I will not come back here again, not even if it was free. Oh well, at least its a lesson learned.
