I’ve been to Roswell, GA often for business and most times I stay at the Courtyard by Marriott. It is located conveniently off the highway and close to everywhere I need to be when I’m in GA. The front desk people are always pleasant and helpful. They have a little area where you can buy beverages, wine, beer, and some snacks if you don’t feel like going out to get any. They have a little gym with enough equipment for you to get a good work out with, a hot tub, and also WiFi. They offer a decent buffet breakfast in the morning that is included in most room rates but make sure you ask to be sure. It will provide you everything you need to get a good start to the morning and they even have to go Coffee cups for the road. The rooms themselves have always been decent. Some rooms I’ve stayed in have flat panel TV’s and others have not been updated yet and honestly, they could offer a better range of cable TV channels as they do not provide many different options. They do not have a fridge in the room, so you’ll need to keep your ice bucket full of ice if you want cold beverages. The beds have always been extremely comfy and once asleep, I’ve always slept well. The room has always been clean and well kept, which is important when you are traveling and are away from home. This hotel is conveniently located in Roswell. It’s right off the highway and it is close to a lot of easy to find food options and stores. It’s a great place for anyone traveling on business to stay!

I only stay in Roswell because I have a client there. That said, I have been back to this Courtyard by Marriott again and again and my experience has always been good. I don’t ever really get up and around in enough time to take advantage of any hotel’s breakfast buffet but on Wednesday nights, they offer a buffet of sushi, chicken wings, wine, and beer, cheese, etc — sort of a happy hour. The beds are comfortable and the flat-panel TV is great, though the reception they have on some channels is wonky. The quality of the free Wi-Fi is high and through ibahn, though you have to re-sign-in every 24-hours. The staff is responsive and there is a very large and very nice business area in the front. Thought I didn’t use their gym or the pool, the facilities are nice. I had a number of packages Fedexed and mailed to me and their service has always been friendly. Mind you, this isn’t a hotel proper, it is really more of a hybrid motel. Don’t go there as a destination but if you’re doing local business, I can surely recommend it, even for an extended stay. The rates are fair and there is a feeling of pride surrounding the property.

Let me voice a few things about what my wife and I experienced New Years Eve with the Courtyard by Marriott. We started the evening off great, checked in with a breeze, got dressed up, and we even got a comb from the young blond haired receptionist at the lobby with a smile when we forgot ours. We left for the evening to a local event down the road. When we awoke the next morning and proceeded to check out, the same receptionist from the evening before confronted us about a $ 16 music charge on the TV. I responded by informing her that my wife and I were out all night and we had not even turned on the TV until 11:30AM the day of checkout. She then became belligerent and defensive and was extremely rude to us. I was only explaining to her that there was a charge on the bill that I had not made. She responded by saying that there was no need cop an attitude and started to get irate. We commented that we were going to write a review about our treatment as we left and then she yelled at the top of her lungs saying«What did you say!?» and then proceeded to tell us that she would call Marriott and tell them that people like us do NOT deserve to stay there and she would make sure that we wouldn’t come back. I went back to the counter to ask the receptionist her name only to get the response«What’s your name?» I then voiced that I was extremely offended about how she had treated my wife. I feel like we were treated like garbage and that the receptionist was completely out of line. I wish I had asked for a manager, but she got me so flustered. I was just happy that we were leaving. I feel like hotel staff should be making you feel like you want to come back for the next New Year and to have repeat business. I will not be coming back to Marriott. The thing that gets me the most is that she accused my wife of saying rude things when we were only asking to have a charge removed that we had not made. If you want to have an enjoyable holiday, save yourself some drama and go somewhere else. Marriott is not the place to be.

I did a Priceline and got a room here with a King bed for $ 40! Free wireless and wired Internet. Work out room, indoor hot tub and outdoor pool. The breakfast buffet isn’t bad, but I would suggest going around the corner to Cracker Barrel.
