Absolutely great place with great service. Can sometimes get crowded but we love to sit at the bar and take our time and enjoy the food and good drinks. Have also always had a great bartender. We will keep coming back for sure. Also came here once with a group of 20’and they did one of the best jobs ever for a size like this

The chargrilled oysters sampler was delicious! They came to the table bubbling hot. The lunch menu was very limited. We had the crab claws, grilled shrimp, dirty rice, sautéed spinach and creamed corn. The creamed corn was our least favorite item. The customer service was outstanding. We will return for dinner as more options available on the menu.

Food is superb. Oysters are fresh and delicious. We could tell they select what they send out to the table. All 18 were perfect. Etoufee is fantastic, RCs oystersand crab leg fingers outstanding too. What a meal we just had!

Came here to kick off a Mother’s Day weekend celebration with my mom and sister. We ordered Bloody Mary’s, oysters, fried green tomatoes, and the calamari. Everything was delicious! We sat on the deck out front and had a wonderful experience!

I loved everything about this place from the moment we walked in. The servers were very happy to have us and made sure our first experience was a memorable one. We came for chargrilled oysters and ordered a dozen(OMG probably the best I’ve had since I’ve lived in Ga and I’ve been here almost 10 years), tuna tartare(so good & very fresh), gumbo(I’m from NOLA and it was more of a soup), and a flaming cobra fang(absinthe on fire run drink which was delicious). Honesty I would have liked to give a 4.5 for«gumbo» but since that isn’t possible…

I finally was able to try this place and it was worth the wait. Suggest making a reservation, last time I tried walking in at 7pm the wait was till 9pm. The ambience of the place is cool, kind of feel like you are walking into another zone. We highly recommend the chargrilled oysters, crayfish ettoufee, bluegrass crusted grouper, crayfish poboy and the chocolate fondant cake. We did also try the seafood gumbo and blue crab hush puppies but I don’t recommend it as much(will try it again next time). Service was slow but the server was wonderful making the experience amazing.

I went here the other night with a friend who is originally from Louisiana. We ordered an appetizer of 6 roasted oysters of three different varieties; two were Rockefeller style, and I cant remember what the other two varieties were. All were great, but I think Rockefeller were my favorite, For entrees I got the Chilean Sea bass sauteed with lemon butter sauce. My friend got the crabmeat stuffed shrimp(their most popular dish). Both were fantastic. For dessert we split an order of bread pudding. Shout out to Raquel who was out server(at the bar where we sat), she was great. I was drinking Abita Amber(bottle) and SweetWater 420. I am a fan and plan on returning.

I came here because I heard it on the Bert’s Show so, I suggested this place for girls night out with my friends. It’s a great spot to hang out, but the food was blah. I gave it 3 stars because of the following: Location: I’m not from around the Roswell area, so I don’t know much about the area; however, it was easy to get to. Price: it’s not too bad… I guess… For the area. I had steak with shrimp, a mixed drink, a soda, and an ice cream… $ 60ish. Ambience: it was super noisy on a Saturday night. I guess because it’s also a bar. However, it was fun. Décor: it is super cute with the huge Hugo’s sign on the wall. I like the décor a lot. Cleanliness: the bathroom wasn’t bad. It could have been cleaner for the price we paid for food. Staff: the staff were nice, very friendly, and even told us where to go afterwards. Food: my steak was ok. I had to return it because it wasn’t the temperature I requested, however, they were super nice about it, even gave me an extra side. Overall, not bad, but won’t come back.

We’ve been here a number of times and I think the grilled oysters are about the best we’ve found this side of Drago’s(New Orleans). Fresh lobster is nice and fairly priced. Fries are chunky, salty, crispy and delicious and servers have always been very friendly and attentive. Why only three stars? I have yet to have the valet open the door for me, only for my husband, and then stand there holding his door waiting for a tip, then walk away leaving me standing there. Good valet services always step around immediately to open the door for the ladies. It reflects well on the restaurant and on the valet’s tips. If you don’t want this annoyance for you or your date, just park in the lot next door.

Best Valentine’s Dinner Ever. My wife got us reservations and from arrival was thoroughly impressed with this small seafood jewel in North Atlanta suburbs. Started with a dozen oysters and they were fantastic. Also had the Tuna Tartar and it was freshly server on bed of avocado w/unbelievable seasoning. Main course was the Lobster and NY Strip, both cooked and seasoned perfectly and the fried Mac n cheese was scary good. Mixology at Hugos is equally compared to their cuisine and the Blood Mary w/pickled green bean is a must try. Well worth the expense and even though it was my first vist, I will become a regular here.

I came here a couple of weeks ago for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how great the experience was! I say that because I had received mixed reviews about Hugo’s through the grapevine, but we wanted to try it nonetheless. We started with the ham spread deviled eggs. They weren’t overly savory which was my big concern and were surprisingly light for such heavy food. We scraped the plate clean and they definitely got our appetites up and running for our entrées. We decided to keep it simple and go for po’ boys for dinner. My partner had an oyster po’ boy and I had a crawfish po’ boy. We tried each others and agreed that they scrumptiously exceeded our hopes. Plenty of fish on the bread and not fried too heavily, they were filling and rich without fillers and nonsense. Just a little lettuce and tomato and sauce to add depth. We dabbed a bit of Tabasco heat for some zing. They came with fries which were average and cole slaw which was above average. I wanted for nothing. I didn’t have much room left after all that, but when we heard bread pudding, we couldn’t resist and I’m very glad we didn’t. We shared a piece and I wish we had each ordered our own. It was out of this world! Moist, light, decadent, saucy, and just the right level of sweetness. It was some of the best bread pudding I’ve ever eaten. I cannot imagine any of the other desserts(no matter how good they may be) could top it. Highly recommended! The ambiance is very pleasant. The deck looked inviting, but we chose to eat inside. It’s got a slightly eclectic feel, but it’s definitely cozy. Instead of one big open floor, there are several sections on slightly elevated platforms that aren’t partitioned off, but break up the size and provide an intimacy to each table. It’s subtle, but it’s a unique feature that many restaurants lack. The service was solid. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. No complaints. I wasn’t blown away by the entrées, but the food is really great and I will be back. I look forward to trying something new next time.

They got oysters served 12 ways and seasonal varieties as well. Free valet upon arrival is great. That sets up the evening nicely. We had 1. Oyster by the dozen — gulf variety and standard fare. nothing special. 2. Oyster Hugo — Bakes with cheese, japapeno and bacon. Even the kids liked this. 3. Oyster Rockefeller — Yummy indeed. 4. Shrimp PoBoy — 17 year old devoured it. I think he liked it 5. Sea Bass Special on Crab sauce. — I had this and thought it was kinda bland. Too much cream has taken out the sweetness from the seafood. 6. Etouffe — Hearty and flavorful. 7. Calamari — This was very good. Lightly battered and tangy marinara. 8. Fried Mac and Cheese — It came in a block and out came very cheesey and goey mac and cheese. Looks good, but my kid was less than impressed. 9. Jalapeño Magerita — Not too spicy, and interesting add to the regular margarita 10. Strawberry Orange Martini — not as good as the Jalapeño Margerita. Our server was very nice. She looked a little inexperienced, but she took good care of us. They have plenty of folks working here, so rest assured, you will be well taken care of. Its a fancier type of oyster bar, with good server and great service.

After riding past this place for quite some time, I persuaded the better half to give it a try. We are both huge fans of po-boys and seafood in general. We both are huge fans of oysters as well. I like them raw, grilled, roasted, smoked, spread on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cooked up in Thanksgiving dressing… you get the idea. The wife, yeah… she won’t go near a raw oyster. In any case, Hugo’s looked to fill a seafood niche that Roswell was needing. This is a tall order as Roswell is seriously up and coming as a foodie destination. Sadly, Hugo’s fell short for us. We dined for lunch starting with the calamari which did not seem fresh at all. Very chewy. We both got po-boys and fries. The sandwiches, while quite tasty, were extremely small. I had an oyster po-boy, while the wife ordered the shrimp. Again, these sandwiches were good, just a poor value, because they are not cheap. Another sad thing was the service. Our server was so slow. I am glad we weren’t on a lunch break from work. He was a bit on the«slow» side as well. Despite this experience, I want to give Hugo’s another shot to see what they are trying to do with the chargrilled oysters, but sadly I have been overruled.

My sister and I are visiting from out of town for a scrabble tournament(my sister is a player not me)! A good friend recommended this place and I’m so pleased that we tried it. Best jalapeño margarita I’ve ever had! It was the perfect balance of lime, spice, and salt. The Bloody Mary was very tasty and came with yummy pickled garnish. Very spicy just the way I like it We got oysters, chopped salad, and chowder(Manhattan style with big chunks of shrimp and fish). The creamed corn with bacon side dish was to die for. I don’t recommend the mahi tacos– bland and soggy. Otherwise we had a great meal and I’m definitely bringing my husband back next time we are in town!

The food here was really good and my waitress was AWESOME. I started off with the fried oysters, but I had them toss the order in buffalo sauce and add blue cheese crumbles.(Ha, does that sound familiar to anyone?) It was FABULOUS! Exactly, how I remembered eating them the first time. Their crab cake was really tasty too. I ordered the Salmon for my main entrée and to my surprise it came out topped with crab meat and lemon butter dressing on the side. Very nice touch. My side was the creamed corn which was so good I ordered some to go. Lastly, my waitress was kind enough to acknowledge my birthday with a complimentary slice of key lime pie. By that time I was stuffed… but I have to admit I still went for it :-P. The only negative thing I would say about this place is the bar doesn’t really have everything you may be looking for. I’m not really that picky, so it’s fine with me but thought I should warn those less flexible.
