Lost the keys to my secondary Car, so it wasn’t a DIREEMERGENCY. Looked online and made several calls to find the best deal. I called and got an approximate quote($ 150)and appointment time. Stood out in the cold as The tech showed up OVERANHOURLATE. He spoke VERYPOORENGLISH and it was hard to fully communicate with him. He asked me in horribly broken English«what window can you live with being broken out to get in to the car». I was completely alarmed and began to freak out and he stated that it was a joke ppl in his industry use to break the ice with customers. I stated that an hr ago and me not standing in the cold might have helped that joke go over better. I sat in my truck to warm up as he went to work. He knocks on my window 15 mins later and states that he DOESNOT have the remote fob I need for my car. So he gave me an emergency weird looking MANUAL key. Stated that he would order the proper remote and it would be in hand about 5 days from now. He then gave me a bill that was SUBSTANTIALLYWELLABOVE what I was initially quoted. How are you charging me WAYMORE for a job that is only partially done i asked. he stated that was the going rate and said something in English that i could not understand and said«excuse to me sir while to call to make unconfuse to you». I got back in my truck because it was warm. 2 mins later i received a call from a gentleman i was able to understand and not have to ask him to repeat himself 3 times. He stated that the initial estimate was incorrect and way off. I agreed to pay because I was done with the whole situation and needed to return back to work. He gave me a card and stated that hed call me immediately when the key bob came in. 6 days later i never got a call. So i called the number and spoke to a woman named Jenifer. She stated that she’d call me back once she got more info. She never called me back and i finally called 2 days later. Again im not in dire straights because i have another vehicle thankfully. she said the remote was ordered and should be there 5 more days from now. 5 days went by and no call from anyone in this organization. I had to fly to Austin Texas and had a slight cold so I allowed one more week to pass by until i felt better. Still no call from anyone regarding my situation. So here I am 4 weeks later, out $ 240.00 and still no key fob or easy access to my trunk. So I have filed a report with the BBB and took to several sites like this to let other fellow consumers know what they might be in for. Im two websites in with complaints and my phone rings. Its the technician calling to Gripe with me about leaving them a BADREVIEW. YES!!! He actually called me to read me the riot act I suppose for criticizing his poor command of the English language. I kindly stated that this call was VERYUNPROFESSIONAL and told him to have a good day. You live and learn. PLEASELEARNFROMMYMISTAKEPEOPLE.

A couple weeks ago, I called Lock to Lock to rekey about 6 locks. The female dispatcher and phone representative’s customer service was initially good – nice and accommodating. The technician that was sent took 4 long hours to do NOTHING. He said that he needed to take my locks with him in order to use a machine – that he did not have with him, to rekey my locks which were probably old and made it difficult to rekey. The technician returned the next day with my locks and installed them on all 6 doors. While attempting to check all my keys, I later, discovered that 2 locks were broken, and the others were stripped. When I called to notify Lock to Lock, a male answered the phone. He took a message for the owner, who never called me back. A couple weeks later, I phoned back to follow up. Yet, this time, the female dispatcher and phone representative’s customer service was dry, rude and unaccommodating. The day that my rekeyed locks were installed, I had to go out of town suddenly, and thought it would be easier to just change out all my locks with new locks, instead of waiting to receive a return call from the owner of Lock to Lock. I needed to secure my property before I boarded my plane. So, I decided to deal with Lock to Lock later – assuming that they would do «the right thing.» However, apparently, that was not a good idea… Now, the female dispatcher and phone representative says that Lock to Lock CANNOT help me because the locks have been removed/replaced. I kept the broken and stripped locks for their review… Oh, well. I won’t be using Lock to Lock again, and I won’t be adding them to the HOA’s Preferred Vendors List.

Well after months of my fiancé and I mentioning that we needed to get a hide-a-key before we locked ourselves out of our condo, I locked us out of the condo. Sadly the hide-a-key plan had yet to be executed. It was 8 pm on a Wednesday night. We called several locksmiths(using our neighbors phone) and all of them were closed. Thank goodness lock to lock was open! Their customer service was fantastic. They called us when someone had been dispatched, and then called again when they were approaching our condo. It was about 20 minutes from our first call until someone arrived. It took all of 1 minute for the locksmith to get us back into the condo. They used a nifty balloon device, so there was no drilling required. The only drawback was that it was pricey. Now I don’t know how much locksmiths normally cost, so I can’t really judge. But the total cost was $ 130($ 25 for the service call and $ 105 for being let back into our condo). On the to do list for the weekend: get a hide-a-key!
