It is off the beaten part. Kind of hard to find since we did not have any GPS in parts. The basic idea is get center of Round Pond and then turn into the small road to the restaurant. Great views and large outdoor seating. Overall good place to go.

If you ever find yourself in the area, make it a point to stop by at this local gem. Featuring both hard shell and soft shell lobsters, as well as a few other non-lobster dishes, this lobster pound combines a beautiful location with delicious fresh food. To be fair, I’m usually not a huge lobster fan, but the soft-shell lobster was so yummy that butter was completely unnecessary. The lobster roll was excellent as well. I wasn’t a fan of their crab cake. The kids enjoyed their VERY cheesy mac & cheese. I’m definitely coming back here next time I’m in the area!

Impromptu need for snack today led us to Round Pond and Muscongus — and we’re going back tomorrow! The deck seating was laid back and Maine perfect. Crab burger was huge, fresh and delicious. We also had the corn and coleslaw. Excellent summer meal.

I came here 6 out of the 12 days I was in Maine. Super fresh seafood, picnic tables with views of Round Pond Harbor, BYOB. It doesn’t get any better than this. Haddock chowder, bacon wrapped scallops, lobster, pemaquid oysters, steamed clams, shrimp… it’s all amazing! Kids menu is perfect as well.

I really really like this place! Kind of expensive, but that’s a lot of Maine. I took off a star because they went back on their promise to the lobstermen they buy from and ended up paying them less, and that doesn’t sit right with me.

Delicious seafood right on the bay! Fish burger was the best I have had, and the lobster and clams were fresh. Quick service, and a great byob atmosphere– definitely bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with the delicious food!

Outside seating, great sandwhiches! The line moved super slow but once we ordered, our food came quickly. The kiddos loved playing in the touch tank.

Sorry, but only one star for a beautiful location and one star for the homemade bread. The lobster was simply not fresh, sort of chewy and flavorless as if it had been frozen. Not a generous portion either, which could have been overlooked, but the sad condition of the lobster completely ruined the roll(priced at $ 22). The place appears to be run by a handful of college girls on summer vacation. There are much better lobster rolls in Wiscasset and Boothbay Harbor.

Mud, salt, and more mud and salt. Steamers were so dirty & salty that cleaning them in the broth(SALTY) made them inedible. Corn bread was salty, fish sandwich was no big whoop. Oysters were outstanding and hard shell lobster was perfect. Hard to ruin those two however. Needless to say, we four did not really enjoy our dinner. Eat there at your own risk of salt intake!

Lovely setting. A bit tough to find, but be persistent. We had lobster rolls every day while in Maine and this was our personal favorite. It’s just so good with lots of sweet lobster and nothing to compete with that flavor.

Nothing to complain about here. Just an awesome place right along the docks of where many lobsterman drop their catch. Real simple menu, fresh lobsters right there in the tubs as you order. You pick the weight you want, see them pick out your lobster, and then… if you want… watch him go into the steamer. 10 – 15 minutes later they call out your order and bring it out. It’s a neat place as you pick where you want to sit along the outside deck. You can bring your own table settings, side dishes, beer, wine, whatever you want. Some people really get into doing it up with nice table clothes, napkins, candles, and center pieces. They do have other seafood, some sides, corn, etc. but for the most part just come here for a good outdoors evening with lobster, mussels, clams, shrimp, or lobster, lobster, lobster. Oh, the crab cakes are really good too. Like I said, nothing to complain about here. Just a great time, great place, great choice.

Several days ago my wife and I had lobster dinners. The lobsters were very good it was a rainy day but still everyone seem to be having a good time. No complaints about the food or the service or the view but charging a dollar for butter, you’re already paying good price for a lobster dinners now you’re going to nickel and dime people for butter for the lobster We have not been to any other place that sells lobster dinners where they charged extra for the butter. What’s next 50 cents for napkins and $.20 for salt-and-pepper’s. We would’ve given this place five stars if they will serve a good meal like they do and quit charging a dollar extra for butter. Two thumbs up.

Oh, this was just too good! What a pleasure. The outdoor seating is covered or uncovered. Uncovered is right against the dock railing; spectacular views of the boats, harbor, birds. Lobster is incredibly fresh; we watched a few fisherman haul theirs up as we were eating. Steamers big, fat, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The corn was a little overdone but at that point, who cared? we weren’t there for the corn! The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. Working soda machine, sweet and unsweet teas(not that Fuze stuff either), ice, outdoor sink with spigot and decent soap to wash up after eating. Two restrooms — realistically, built-in outhouses — were both clean and well-appointed. You have to ask for water to rinse the clams in, and it’s really necessary. Our friends suggested the soft shell lobster, and I will admit I thought the hard shell were a bit better. I wish I could eat here every day. Recommend highly.

Good good, amazing view. Very laid back atmosphere– order at the counter and find your picnic table overlooking Round Pond Harbor. Bring your own wine or beer, table linens, or flower arrangement. Dinner for two or twenty, not a problem. They have added to the menu– in addition to the standard clams, lobster, and corn you can get lobster roll(my favorite in Maine) crab cake sandwich, chowder(lobster or fish), and sides like potato salad and coleslaw. Kids menu to feed those not up to a giant bug like creature on a plate. Good food in quintessential Maine setting.

Scenic outdoor eating however my lobster dinner was just average. Ordered the hard Shell and found the flavor to be good but have had much better. I was not impressed with the clams. No sea water to rinse the sand out and many had broken shells. Hit or miss on the taste too. Glad they were just a side. Sad to find the corn to be GMO because it was overly sweet and touch which is typically of most corn you can get these days. i sure miss the corn of the Northeast before GMOs. Long line to order as place is popular. Next time, I will try the mussels.

This is at least a yearly spot for my family. We always take a visitors there, as well, if they haven’t had Maine lobster. Prices are always reasonable and the lobster is delicious. Bring your own beer, wine, snacks… whatever! Also tried the bacon wrapped scallops on this visit. Very tasty and nice as an appetizer. This place is always a win!

Okay if your looking for fine food elegant décor or a at tentative wait-staff your in the wrong place. This is a place where you go up to the counter and order your meal. You get a choice of the size of lobsters you want to eat. I’ve been told the larger the lobster the tougher the meat so we stayed at the 1 ½ lb size. With our meal we got mussels or clams and freshly steamed corn. We sat at large wooden picnic tables and enjoyed the fresh air of Round Pond, ME. Great Food, Great Out Doors and the Great Company of Family who shared this with us. If you can find this place you’ll love it to and see why it earns the rating of five stars. A truly unique experience and well worth the drive.

MMM… Delicous — I wish I was there right now! This was my first visit to a lobster pound and oh, was I happy! Aside from my minor lobster injury(yes, it was dead…), I had a great time. This is a no-frills spot with delicious food. The steamers and lobsters were amazing. So amazing, in fact, that I wanted to eat 3 more! This spot is BYO, so that is nice as well. You can enjoy your seafood with wine along the water. This is a great spot and I’m sure it’s packed in the summer. Thankfully, I was there when it was quiet(read, rainy), but it didn’t diminish my enjoyment. The staff is super nice. Definitely a great spot!!!

The best meal I had on my vacation was at a picnic table on the dock at the Muscongus Bay Lobster Co. No white table cloth here, just a lobster cracker and a roll of paper towels. We brought our own wine and beer and we were set. This was my first time trying«soft-shell» lobster, per recommendation from the waitress, cook, cashier(all the same person). for $ 16 each, we each had our own 1+ lb lobster, mussels/clams, and corn. An excellent value. We were referred to this place by a shopkeeper in Camden. It was a good place to stop for lunch between Camden and Portland. After a long drive down Hwy 32, we were beginning to think we had missed the place, but just then we saw the Granite Hall Store, hung a hard left and we were there! Definitely worth the drive.
