Camden La Frontera

Let’s start with the shorter list of pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Dog park-​we were able to meet so many amazing people here and our dog always had a blast.
2. Our neighbors-​we hung out almost every night and still keep in contact with them, even though we are no longer a residents at Camden.
Cons:
1. VERY rude staff. I wouldn’t bother going to them about any issue you may have, they genuinely don’t care.
2. Staff has a hard time communicating with residents about new policies. When I first moved in the pool and gym were 24 hours. It wasn’t until a couple of cops were kicking my friends and I out of the pool area, that I found out the pool now closes at 10pm. The gym hours also changed, without notice, to a 12 hour gym.
3. Valet trash workers are rude as well. The trash guy threw my trash bags at my door, broke my trash can, and also wouldn’t pick my trash up some days. I had never talked to the man, so I knew it wasn’t a personal issue.
4. The fact there’s only one dumpster. I lived on the complete opposite side of the complex, so I had to put the trash in my car and drive it over to the dumpster (if the trash bag was over 25lbs). Which led to multiple garbage leaks in my car.
5. The fact that you can’t receive packages at the front office anymore.
6. Make sure you really walk through your apartment when, and if, you move in. The whole apartment is cheaply made. We had some crown molding always popping out of place, cabinets and drawers always off track, outlets not working, dishwasher always breaking, and paint marks on the floor (that weren’t even the same color as the walls).
7. Air conditioner would break once or twice a month. I went a whole month without air conditioning (during the middle of summer too!) all because the maintenance team (not the supervisor or travis) didn’t fix it properly. The last couple times it broke I was informed that algae was growing in the A/​C unit, which shouldn’t happen considering it’s a brand new apartment. They somewhat «fixed» it by putting the pool cleaning solution in my air conditioner causing my whole place to smell like chlorine.
8. Make sure you have your trash can in your apartment as early as they say. The staff walks around right when they start work and will hand out violations.
9. Make sure you are home by a certain time or you will not be able to find parking.
10. If you don’t own a pet and didn’t pay a pet deposit or fee, make sure the office doesn’t catch you with a pet visiting. The office will try to charge you a $ 500 fee.
11. If you are down at the pool area staff members will watch you, making you feel very uncomfortable.
All in all, I could never call Camden my home. I could never walk out my door without feeling like I was being put under a microscope. I am very thrilled to not live here anymore and it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.

This has been BY FAR the most pleasant apartment experience I’ve ever had. Definitely the only time I have felt like residents wanted to be in community with one and other. We meet up several times a week in the dog park, grab lunch and dinner together, and host monthly BBQs by the pool. Not only have we made great friends but so has our dog! She LOVES spending time at the dog park, spending times with all of her doggy friends, and taking long walks around the lake next door.
In fact on one of these walks I ran into a resident of one of the neighboring apartments and when she heard that I lived in the Camden La Frontera apartments she immediately said that I made the right choice and that it was the nicest in the area. (I agree with her!)
The facilities are excellent, we had had no major issues with the apartment, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Also the maintenance team is prompt, efficient, and competent.
I would absolutely recommend this complex to anyone, especially if they have pets! It has been a fantastic experience and I am so happy that we decided to move here a year ago.

This place was the biggest waste of $ 14,000 I’ve ever spent. One would think that the $ 1200 rent for a single bedroom apartment, and a poorly placed one at that (neighbors on top, garage below), would be justified by outstanding service. This, unfortunately, was not the case. Here is a quick rundown, in the last year:
Every grill has broken, and for a while all of them were broken, with one leaking gas.
The gym was no longer ²⁴⁄₇.
The administration no longer signed for packages, which is huge for me. FedEx will not leave packages at your door here, you either have to be here all day to wait for FedEx or go pick it up from the FedEx facility. Staff won’t budge on this issue or even help you out if you ask.
The pool went from ²⁴⁄₇ to having reasonable hours, however this wasn’t the case when I signed my lease.
The gate was broken at various times.
The doors leading to the pool/​gym were broken for about a month.
Poor construction in the actual apartments. The walls are poorly made and the fixtures are poorly installed. Everything felt wobbly and cheap.
This place was very sneaky — I saw a pattern. I sat back and paid my rent on time, I had never received a complaint/​fee; I just was a good tenant. I decided not to renew my lease and have moved away from this apartment to a MUCH nicer one down the road (for the same price, which was funny that Camden wanted to up my rent if I resigned my lease!).
When they show you the apartment, you’ll be impressed. Everything looks nice from the outside, but they will slowly stop caring once they get you stuck in a lease (it was like $ 5000+ to break the lease, so I just dealt with the place). Trust me, in the La Frontera area you have some amazing options. I’m staying in a much better place for $ 1200 a month, which is about $ 100 less than what Camden wanted to charge me when my lease ended. I just wanted to give you all a heads up!

Me and my Fiancé were really excited to move here and even for the first few months we have grown to love this place. Although, lately our desire has disappeared as
numerous problems arise every day that passes.
Where do I start? Well let’s start with the inside of the apartment. These walls must have fake paint because if you rub anything against it, it will leave a scuff mark way too easily. We have had a serious spider problem lately and I emailed the manager and a guy came the next day to spray on the INSIDE and got pesticide all over our furniture and rugs without bothering to move them first. Shouldn’t you also be spraying on the outside so they don’t come inside in the first place?
Next, nothing seems to work in the apartment… The outlets on the island have no power so you can’t plug in anything. Luckily there are a lot of other outlets in other places but still. The A/​C is really weak and the cable goes out way too much along with not working in the first place when we moved in. Edit: While writing this our cable just went out. Coincidence?
Furthermore, what is with the trash? $ 25 a month for trash when I can just walk down to the garbage and drop it off. You need to make this an option for guests because I think its pointless for a guy to come pick it up at 10pm and take it down 15 feet to the garbage to drop it off. And they charge you an extra $ 5 for trash on your WATER BILL? What the hell is that?
Lastly, the amenities were the one thing we were looking forward to because everything was so new. The hours for these amenities are constantly changing and getting shorter. The 24-​hour fitness center has now turned into a 12-​hour fitness center with no heads up from management. But they won’t hesitate to tell you when they are shutting down everything for a 1 hour meeting or a photography session.
Overall, if none of these problems bother you and you can deal with a rude staff then this place is for you. Our lease is up in 11 months (counting) and we will be moving into our new house.
EDIT: I forgot to add that one of the bright spots to this community is Travis the maintenance guy. He doesn’t rest until the job gets done and has a good personality. For that I will bump it to 2 stars.
EDIT: Back down to 1-​star because they now do not accept packages in the lobby. All of these cool amenities that we paid for before we moved in are being taken away.

I love Camden La Frontera! My boyfriend and our two dogs live here now. New to Texas and it is right around the corner from everything you’d need, not in a busy area though. My dogs love the dog park and we love the pool and grills.

Is it possible to give no stars? Too bad because that’s what Camden deserves. We’ve previously visited camden about a year ago when they first opened. We toured the facility and loved it. We have even recommended Camden to friends and family. Now that our current contract is expiring elsewhere, we are on the Hunt. Previously we were toured by Ryan, who was amazing and sweet and gave us a lot of information. But after a week of looking at apartments we were ready to look again at Camden, we drove 30m out to come see Camden la frontera knowing that they closed at 6. Nope, we walked in, no one at the front desks, after a minute a lady walks out and offers to help us, we tell her we wanted to look at some available units as we have previously been here with Ryan. She immediately states they do not show rooms after 5:30. But she’d be more than happy to waste our time getting all of our information and then sending us home. Do they not need more residents? Are they at full capacity? Because we were between Camden and another apartment complex. (Because we were that confident in our expectations of this place from our last visit… A year ago). And obviously if you close 40m before you close. You must not have a need for more residents. Obviously things have changed from our last visit. So we will be going with our other option as Camden has forfeited. Also we will no longer be recommending la frontera to our friends and family as we previously had been.

Horrible experience with the application process so glad i didn’t move in although, they did keep my admin fee and refused to refund because i was approved but decided not to move in. Staff was misleading and calling the regional coordinator didn’t do anything but waste my time. Would never recommend this place

Apartments look great on the outside but make sure you do a thorough walk through. Apartments were built so fast there is a lot of things that will need to be fixed when you move in.
You pay a premium expect everything to be perfect and it’s not.
Cons:
1. Bathroom Sinks crack in half.
2. kitchen cabinets have glue on them.
3. One of our granite counter tops is not level in the kitchen.
4. Make sure you have all of screens in your windows.
5. Bug problems in the windows.
6. Patio doors have problems locking.
7. I love dogs but I don’t like to hear them bark all day long. Took 2 months to solve that problem because the Office is friends with that specific tenant.
8. We are close to a train that blows a very loud whistle at all times of the night and the day.
9. They advertise sound proofing technology — Let me tell you there is none.
10. Favortism to Tenants that are friends with the office staff.
11. Light switches are not level.
12. Grout is smeared in the bathrooms
13. TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS, TRAINS
14. AT&T HAS A MONOPOLY IN THIS COMMUNITY, 300 MBPS IS AVAILABLE IN THIS AREA BUT WE CAN’T GET BECAUSE CAMDEN HAS A DEAL WTH AT&T.
15. Originally Camden advertised 2 inch wood blinds they are plastic. They actually took this off their website after we complained. Of course they went to plastic to save money.
Pros:
1. Great coffee machine in the office
2. Gym is good
3. Pool is nice
4. Covered grilling area with Fans and gas grills.
5. Maint. Staff is Friendly but efficient
6. Close to Resturants and Stores
7. UBER DOG FRIENDLY !
8. Parking is ok right now no issue yet.
I rated the staff low only because it took them so long to take care of the Dog Barking problem because the Manager and the staff are friends with the Tenant that had the barking dog. Why have huge dogs in a apartment complex and leave them home for 8 – 9 hours a day. Not fair to the dog, dogs should have yards to frolic in. My opinion.

We lived at La Frontera Square for a year (right down the road) Yes they are aesthetically nice. However, when we entered Camden La Frontera… The little touches they add in their apartment homes makes La Frontera Square look like a dump! Not to mention the Staff was very helpful and very eager to make sure we were taken care of! From the deep sinks, frames around the mirror in bathroom, GREAT size closets, AMAZING refrigerator and to the back splash in the kitchen really makes the apartment feel like a home! We are so excited to be putting our deposit down today and ready for our move in date! One staff member in particular is Julianna, she is full of energy, loves what she does and it completely shows!!! NOT WHAT WE WE’RE USED TO FROM THE SQUARE!!! Needless to say, WE are so THANKFUL to be able to feel right at home at Camden La Frontera!

My experience at Camden La Frontera has been excellent! I have been working with Stacia in leasing, and Coby in maintenance. Stacia and Coby have been very prompt, thorough, and professional in taking care of all of the leasing and maintenance issues with the apartment.
It is easy to tell that they are a team of professionals that care about customer service. From someone in the business of customer service I am impressed.
