We stopped in on a Saturday, late morning. The selection was limited by that time on the bakery side, but we went with the beef empanada and some small mango pastries. They both were delightful! The Cuban espresso was outstanding, bold, and just whatnot wanted. Hoping next time the selection isn’t so slim, because we are definitely going back!

I wont be going back. The customer service was bad… I’m not familiar with Cuban food so I had questions like. What is in this sandwich, and what is that on the counter, it looks good? The lady was annoyed by my questions and too worry with going back to her conversation with someone I assume is a friend based on the familiarity of their conversation. I ordered and paid then had the audacity to ask for a to go menu to which she rolled her eyes. My food took 20 mins, for a sandwich… that did not taste fresh, the pork tasted frozen.

I expected something worth to try based on some reviews. Waste of time. Empty counters, limited menu, not clean. Also the lady behind counter was not helpful at all. Not going back. Have you read comments of owner to Unilocalers? Wow. Now I understand how customer service«important» and how not open minded he is to improve his place.

The medianoche is done right, there is no arguing that. However, far to often they run out of the bread. Showed up twice an hour before close that they said their kitchen was closed and they wouldn’t make anymore sandwiches. Showed up on a Saturday 3 hours before close and they were just closed with no explanation. The empenadas and other fried foods sit there all day and taste that way. I wish this place made there empenadas and other fried offerings fresh when you place your order and had sauces to go with it. The owner of the Cuba bakery needs to keep better tabs on his employees and improve their customer relation skills. Closing early and refusing to cook an hour before close on numerous occasions isn’t how you run a successful restaurant. We tried another Cuban restaurant in Round Rock(Mambo House) and it was just 180. everything is fresh and though the mediannoche isn’t on the menu, if you ask for it they’ll make your Cubano with it. All sauces are house made even the ketchup(just like in Cuba).

Please beware of this place and call ahead if you are about to take a trip down there… A couple of days ago It was my third attempt to try to get something and every time I went it was closed. Please either change your business hours or open when you say you will open. Hard to take this business seriously!

We got some desserts from here and they were good. But they didnt have many options there… they only had few kinds of desserts. I guess only 5 or 6 different bread. Well, anyway, ive got Pumpkin pudding, cream cheese pastry and I dont rememeber the name of it but it is rolled dough and the custard cream in it. Taste of them were good but i guess vary the options will be helpful for the customers.

It’s like stepping into a café in Calle Ocho. Delicious and affordable! The tostones are great!

This wasn’t worth the stop. Several menu items were out and we were limited to only three options. I ordered the medianoche and my husband got 3 tamales. We were disappointed with both. The medianoche is a nice size but the taste was flat and bland. The tamales had very little meat(pork) and the masa was runny. We went in hungry and still didn’t eat our food. We left and went to another place to actually eat. I gave it 2 stars because the service was outstanding.

Simple place for a great café con leche and afternoon treat! They have delicious espresso. Mmm tostones! Very friendly and great to have culture here in Round Rock! Support our local business to keep RR «mildly unusual» :-)

This place is ok… the food is acceptable, decent croquetas, pasteles and other Cuban baked goods. Two stars because THEYARECOMPLETELYUNRELIABLE! This is my third and last attempt to understand their«flexible» business hours. I’m Cuban and get Caribbean time, but come on people! If you say you’re open, open! Must be nice to open when and only when you need to… at the very least, answer your business phone! There is this not so new feature called«call forwarding», you should try it. Don’t bother if you need a reliable business.

Just move to Round Rock and was very happy to see a place were I can eat some cuban food. Prices are just right and remember what you are paying for; that the servings could be bigger — of course and so is the price!!! I loved it and can’t wait for the family to get here so we can come…

A big disappointment. My husband and I ordered two Cuban sandwiches and tamales. The sandwiches were cold. The cheese was cold and so was the pork. The tamales were just lumps of masa they only had a string of pork. We won’t be returning. I don’t recommend this place.

the potato balls have just a hint of meat in them it made me kinda mad… Back in California there is this Cuban bakery named Porto’s and Their potato ball are the best. But here in round rock I haven’t anything close to it. It’s like they are stingy with everything they make I tend to stay away from places like this. First and last time I go here since they don’t even have a variety of deserts either. Don’t buy the rice pudding since it tasted like it was old not freshly made… Ohhh and one last thing for being a hole in the wall this place is overpriced big time…

Seeing that I’m in Texas and just came from Miami, I thought it was fair to add another star. I mean no other Cuban place taste better in Miami. At least that I’ve experienced… My intention when ordering was not just a café con leche but their pastries. My favorite is the guava pastry so when viewing their options, it already didn’t look that appealing. Okay so let’s just taste it. Ordered my café con leche and pasteles and an empanada for my son while my hubby ordered a cortadito. Well while talking to the lady, she tells us we have to add sugar in our coffee. SAYWHAT??? Then what’s the point of ordering them if we have to add our own sugar. I mean I could’ve just made coffee at home and it would’ve tasted better. Cortaditos and Café con Leche’s are made to be given to your customers with sugar already in it unless stated otherwise. The pasteles was not that good either. Took a couple of bites and tossed it. Plus they are stingy on the guava. My son said his empanada was not good so that went to waste too. Experiencing this made me think of how much I miss the Cuban Bakeries in Miami. I would not give this another try. Already called my friends to send me some pastries. :) Although TX has awesome BBQ, I have yet to find a Cuban place. :(

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Love supporting local places and the owners are super sweet. She always remembers my family and asks how awe are doing. The food is muy delicioso! I know it is cuban, but it allows me to get my puerto rican fix without having to drive to see mi abuela. Took tostones to my aunt and she said they were the best she has ever had. We always get the cuban sandwich, but I am partial to the media noche sandwich. My boyfriend can’t get enough of the queso pasteries. Rice and beans, shredded beef, empanadas. Yum!

Cream cheese pasteries, out of this world. Only food I would eat for the rest of my life if I had to choose. The best! And owners are the sweetest people. Makes this excellent bakery with amazing cuban sandwiches feel like home.

My girlfriend is pregnant, saw this place pop up on her phone when searching for bakeries, and that ladies and gentleman, is how we ended up trying this place. What we tried: Cookies: We tried a couple of different cookies and were not fans. Even the one with M&Ms were no bueno. Cream Cheese Roll: They had this sugary cream cheese roll thing. We liked it. But honestly, there isn’t enough cream cheese in it for me. Empanadas: The beef and chicken were really good Potato Balls: I liked them. Conclusion: We only tried the baked goods on display. We’ll probably be back if we are in the area. But we’ll stay away from the baked goods display on the left and just stick with the stuff on the right side. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, the Empanadas or Potato Balls. I’ll also be sure to try their sandwiches and coffee to see if I want to bump them up a star.

I should have paid better attention to the reviews… drove here only to find it’s not open during regular business hours. No reason, just closed on a Thursday afternoon. No way to run a real business.

Bought a box full of various and sundry pastries they have one that has cream cheese in it that’s awesome, haven’t tried the beef or chicken empanadas yet, bought some this morning but haven’t tasted them yet.
