Took my daughter’s car to a mechanic that we have used for over a decade. He could find nothing wrong with the oil drain plug on her car! Changed the oil and filter. No leaks detected.
Do I think they were trying to scam her because she’ young, blonde and driving an older car? Absolutely. Beware of these hacks.

Took two vehicles in for state inspections together. My car is only a couple years old and the wipers on it were only maybe 3 – 4 months old. I replaced them right before I moved our here. In order for both vehicles to pass inspection we had to buy wiper blades. They said there were no tears or anything but even the slightest crack or anything and vehicles in TX won’t pass. I knew mine were perfect and my husband’s were probably about 7 – 8 months old and fine too. We had to buy their wipers here so we could get our inspection stickers so it cost us another 20 bucks or so per vehicle. And the worst part is that the wipers they sell are total crap. With all the rain the last couple of weeks it has been a nightmare. They don’t get the windshield wiped off at all and just streak it all over. My other wipers were rain-​x brand and worked wonderfully. This place is a total ripoff — replacing wipers since nothing else needed to be done for our inspection just to make a couple bucks. We take great care of our cars. I would have been back for routine services but now I will never go back and will tell everyone I know not to go there. Now I have to go buy wipers yet again to replace these sorry excuse for wiper blades.

My wife took her car to Drivers Edge last Monday for an oil change and a state inspection. The tech told her that her car would not pass inspection unless the air filter was replaced. She agreed to this and her total bill was $ 109. For a $ 20 oil change and $ 18 state inspection. I went down to discuss this with the manager, who profusely apologized, and assured me that none of his guys would ever do such a thing. I told him that I had changed said filter no more than 8 months ago in my driveway. He offered me my money back, but I told him to keep it, cause it was way too late for that. I told him that he was taking advantage of people and he was unethical. I assured him of 3 things. One, I was posting my experience on our Cat Hollow Community Facebook page, two, I was writing this review on Unilocal,and three, I was writing to the state Attorney General dept. of consumer fraud. We don’t need any shady charlatans in our neighborhood that take advantage of unsuspecting «marks». BTW, it is illegal to threaten to fail someone based on a dirt air filter. John B. Good fast service for state inspection. Older facility. Up sell services for preventive maintenance. Other services to expensive.

I took my Pilot for 60k service. I was out within an hour. I feel the price quoted is quite competitive compared to what Honda would have charged.

They guys here are super nice and knowledgeable about your car. They will tell you what needs to be repaired and how much before they do it. The location is clean and they have free coffee and beverages for purchase. I would definitely come here again.

Great customer service, very up front about any potential issues (i.e. having to wait a bit longer for my inspection because the state computer terminal ran a mandatory update). Showed me some issues with my vehicle that, while not failing inspection, would still be worth looking into in the future. Great experience.

I took my car in to be examined for a second opinion. They took me out and showed me the issues my car was having and then continued to tell me it is unsafe to drive and could result in a catastrophe! (fire​.my engine blowing) Everything they showed me was clear as day (I grew up around cars so I am no dummy.) I knew it would be labor intensive and expensive but the biggest problem was a personal one. I was to leave town for the holidays the very next morning to see family out of town. Scott offered to call a rental car company and set up a reservation at a discounted price which he did. He even called the rental car company on (Sunday) his day off to confirm my car was still reserved, picking me up on time, and at the lowest price possible.
Prior to that… If the rental place had been closed for the holidays he even offered his secondary personal car so I would not miss time with my family during the holidays. WHERE DO YOU FIND CUSTOMER SERVICE LIKE THAT THESE DAYS!!! HERE YOU DO!
How did this story end? I decided since my car had almost 100,00 miles on it I would bypass the repair work and purchase a new one, but I assure you I will be taking my new vehicle to them for oil changes and maintenance! I was thoroughly impressed and I will be back.

Scott who is manager, has been very helpful by providing extra help and not charging extra. On recent repairs, «Moose», the technician, fixed a door on my Nissan while running the codes for a check engine light. I was not charged for the door and will be bringing my Nissan in later for a catalytic converter replacement. He also did great repair work on my Cavalier while doing only necessary repairs. «Moose’s» attention to detail is impressive.
I did business with America’ Service Station originally because of my connection with the previous owner, who I had also done business with when he had a shop in California. With Scott and «Moose» I have the same confidence that I had with the previous owner.

I have been here twice in the last 90 days. Once for a state inspection I was in and out. The other I serviced a car. I had a coupon they had the car about an hour did a good job from what I can see. I have been looking for a place I can trust and take all three of my cars too for a long time. The manager chuck is a really nice guy very professional made me feel comfortable and I wanted to try them out for my service. I am surprised by the trend of negative reviews I will take another car and see how it is goes. I always only use synthetic oil in my cars I always get worried that you pay for it but what do the folks really put in since they don’t show you before it goes in your car has always been a worry for me. I will try it out again and ask chuck show me the mobile 1 you use next time to see if I can trust them.

Everyone has been super helpful — and when you have a family with 4 cars you need a good service station. My only dislike is the constant change over of management.
The service technicians are all nice — and have helped me out of a bind more than once.

This is going to be a long rant, so bear with me. I need to follow up and call them too, but I’m too livid right now to risk being on the phone…
It started a week ago on Monday. My wife needed to use my truck and decided to get it inspected since it was due. She called me on the drive home and told me that ASC said it would fail because the parking brake wouldn’t hold my truck at 1500 RPM per the requirement. I talked to the guy, and told him that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, since a Honda Civic is going to produce a whole lot less torque at 1500 RPM than my truck. He shrugged it off and said that’s what it is. They told my wife that they could try to adjust the parking brake for $ 50, so I told her to go ahead and get it over with.
Fast forwards a couple of days. On the drive home, my truck vibrated badly, like I have a completely flat tire. I pull over, but didn’t see any problems. When I started driving again, it was smooth. Same thing happened to me yesterday on the way to IKEA. Again, the vibration was terrible and just resolved after I stopped at a stop light. When I got home, I jacked up the truck and tugged on each wheel and inspected the suspension — no problems that I could see. After doing an exhaustive search on the internet, I finally came across a report of someone with the same symptoms as me. Want to guess what the problem was?
A maladjusted parking brake, which could lead to the rotors warping and causing lots of damage.
I also happen to have the Tundra service manual. It says that the parking brake should «click» 6 – 9 times when depressed with 60 pounds of force (I assumed this means the typical pressure you put on the parking brake pedal). I couldn’t even get it to click ONCE with the adjustment made by ASC with reasonable force. To get it to click 6 times required me to put my whole body weight on it. I promptly loosened the parking brake cable back to where it had been (10 minutes start to finish — not worth $ 50), and no problems yet.
It gets even better: THERE IS NO 1500 RPM REQUIREMENT FOR PARKING BRAKES. The DPS website (
) merely says to fail the inspection if: «f. Parking brake will not hold the vehicle in place when, with the engine running, the vehicle is placed in forward gear and the engine is accelerated enough to cause a pull on the braking mechanism.» A *pull*, NOT1500 RPM, which is a LOT of torque for my truck.
I hope this inappropriate and unnecessary adjustment of my parking brake didn’t cause any permanent damage and will most likely contact DPS to make them aware of what this place is doing.
[UPDATE] My Unilocal review was seen by the owner of the business and he contacted me. We’re trying to work something out, and I will update the review accordingly.

«WARNING» This place is a scam. Went there to inspect the low coolant light, and they swore the intake manifold was the problem on a 2002 truck with 74k miles. They didnt fix the problem, so blamed the expansion tank. Didnt fix it still. I never saw a leak there before, or from the intake manifold. I wanted to trust them, but my gut felt they were dead wrong. After researching the matter, the FIRST thing they shouldve checked was the oil to see if it looked milky or overfilled cause thats where the coolant could be going! After figuring out the issue myself they have the guts to tell me $ 2800 to fix the real problem, AFTER making me spend over $ 1000 for nothing. RUN RUN RUN!!!

In the past, I would have left 1 star for this shop based on my previous experiences. Over the last year, however, I have taken 2 vehicles in for oil changes and noticed positive changes: in both management and attitude. So much so, that I’ve started trusting them to make repairs to 2 of our vehicles.
I have been pleased with the honest assessments of Clay, one of the managers, and have not been pressured to make nonessential repairs. I’ve comparison-​shopped quoted prices on parts and labor, and even dropped in unannounced to see repairs in progress (and saw clearly damaged parts being pulled).
This team has earned my trust. I hope that others discover and reward the new business practices at this shop.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. One star feels waaaay too high.
I brought my car in to get a new inspection sticker and they advised me that I had a cracked exhaust manifold and my headlights were yellowed and hazy so it would not pass. Fine well and good.
Cost to inspect and diagnose problem with state inspection: $ 80.
I then received a speech from the manager on how they are a family business and it means a lot to make sure I’m satisfied with them so I choose to bring all my vehicles to them and continue to choose them as my primary service provider. His speech was so rehearsed and so far from genuine it made me nauseous. He quoted me to replace my exhaust manifold at $ 1600. The car is a ’98 and I wouldn’t dare invest that much. I figured it was a wash and said thanks and left. He calls me not 5 minutes later saying they found a part and could do it for $ 900.
So it got me thinking, «How did this suddenly drop $ 700 in cost?»
Well, after going home and doing some research online I found an OEM replacement manifold AND new catalytic converter for $ 200. When I called him to ask if they would just do the work with a part I purchased he said they couldn’t. When I told him the cost he was clearly taken aback and surprised I did my research responding only with «Oh… that’s a good price. Let me call you back after I check that website and we can probably buy it from them and do the work for you at a better cost». He NEVER called back.
Thanks to YouTube I was able to see a full explanation on how to go about performing this fix and it literally took me less than an hour to do it and the car passed inspection at a different location with flying colors. Overall cost to me: $ 210 in parts and an hour spent in my garage enjoying a few beers.
I’m not saying everyone is handy enough to do their own repairs. but if you ARE going to bring your vehicle to this blood-​sucking, unreliable and greedy repair shop. do your research after they give you an estimate. They aren’t out to help you, they are clearly trying to make every dollar they can and will try and trick you into thinking they are a «family oriented» business.

Do not buy the stupid super saver coupon deal! They take an hour to change my oil. For not much more jiffy lube does it in less than ten minutes then doesn’t try to sell me over priced services. Hard to imagine anything less convenient. In the end it is going to cost me more as I am going to stop using them and eat the $ 80. Yes, it is worth $ 80 to not have to see these folks again. I can say anything about the quality of the repairs, but I know their prices are way out of line (and I think they push more repairs than necessary but don’t know for sure. Based on conversations I have over heard of them consulting with other customers.)
Pro tip: If you are there to use there to use your Super Saver coupon, tell them you don’t want the inspection. They will get you out in closer to 20 minutes.

My wife bought a coupon book from a door to door solicitor with 5 oil changes at this place for $ 80, ugh. So I take her car there recently and it was all smooth sailing, they take the coupon and do the oil change.
I never hear from them that it’s ready so I call them and they walk me through their «inspection» and tell me it needs the transmission oil flushed, it’s normally $ 180 but they will do it for $ 140 and to come get it in an hour and tries to hang up on me. I stop him, tell him I don’t want them to touch the transmission, we get into an argument since he won’t take no for an answer, which ends with me saying «Do not touch the transmission of that car, am I clear!?»
I called the Honda dealer and they charge $ 80 to do the flush. I’ve had tons of issues with another Honda transmission in my Accord so I’m very picky who services the transmission. Reading other online reports, there is mention of them using knock off tranny fluid so I am glad I didn’t let them touch it.
I’ll finish out my oil changes with them, but I don’t think I would trust them to do any other work.
Also, you really should look at the 7 filtered out reviews that aren’t showing up for this place since those posters don’t have many reviews on Unilocal,I don’t think I’ll use the remaining «free» oil changes here now for sure.
