Super cute place! I like going here for breakfast or for dinner. They have good flautas and good eggs. The server is usually an abuela who seems to know everyone there. The interior is someone’s 800 square foot house made into a restaurant. You really feel like you’re eating at someone’s home. Very good chips and good salsa.

My new favorite restaurant in Round Rock! This out of the way spot has a great patio that allows dogs. The service has been very good(I’ve eaten here 4 times in the past two weeks) friendly and fast. The atmosphere is laid back and the food is awesome, lots of fresh, tasty food for a VERY reasonable price. There are free chips and salsa while you wait for your order and delicious ice tea. I’m a big fan! I wouldn’t call this Tex-Mex. Its more like what I’m used to getting in AZ. I’d call it BorderMex. Its Mexican with a little bit of gringo mixed in. Personally I prefer BorderMex! Its delicious and(I suspect) less fattening than the Tex Mex stuff. PS The name has changed from Garcias to Las Brisas but the internet seems to be in the dark about that fact.

Garcia’s has been a family favorite for years. Great Tex-Mex, particularly when considering the price. Nothing better than some fajitas on a Friday night, and a nice cold Mexican beer to go with it. As more customers discovered the place, there was typically a wait for a table, particularly on weekends. I am worried about my friends at Garcia’s. The city tore up the streets all around the place. Over the summer, one had to park several blocks away and walk to get there. We ate dinner there last Friday. At what should have been prime time, the place was only half full. And to top it off, they had lost their liquor license. I would hate for a family business to go under thanks to months of street tear-up by the city. Stop by soon, and maybe I will see you there.

Really good Tex-Mex at very reasonable prices(i.e. happy hour all day Saturday $ 1.75 domestic beers, $ 3 ritas) Excellent chips and salsa. Nice, friendly servers. A challenging location to get to. Street reconstruction is not helping their business. It’s a converted house. Cozy and nothing glamorous or fancy. But it’s the best Tex-Mex in Round Rock/North Austin, IMHO.

I love this place, but not for mexican food, for tex-mex. If you love the american/texas style take on mexican with thick velveeta style cheese and delicious chili sauce, go for the enchiladas! I love their lunch specials, $ 5.99! And if you have to have slightly more authentic food try their beef fajitas. But I would only go here if you’re in the mood for tex mex in a homestyle atmosphere.

Im not sure why I have not been able to post my review of this place(this is my 3rd time I’ve tried) but ill try again. Now the place is an old house converted to a restaraunt and the floors creek when you walk into this place(its no ztejas), so if you don’t like a small cozy place go somewhere else, but if you like great cheap mexican food this is the place to go. I usually get the fajitas, its my favorite meal here. The meat is very tender and full of flavor. And I guarantee you wont be able to finish the meal, I always have leftovers. If I do order something else, I order the Alcopoco dinner. It comes with al carbon taco w 2 beef hard tacos on th first plate, then they bring you 2beef enchiladas w rice and beans all for$ 8.50!!! I’ve been to alot of mexican rest around town and I feel that this is the best around, and my family conquers!

We get to go orders from Garcia’s every Friday. I’ve worked my way through the whole menu and have really liked everything. My favorite is the San Luis lunch special, you get 2 chicken enchiladas and 2 chicken tacos for $ 5.95. The salsa is also top notch

This place is pretty good, I had the all you can eat enchiladas, 2 beers, and a keep it beer glass from UT for $ 16, with $ 3 tip. so it was pretty cheap, and the enchilada’s were really good, the chipotle sauce was the best but the verde wasn’t like licking the bottom of a shoe either. I can understand why this place is packed. They fix food well, and don’t bug you. The service is good, and they get rid of your dirty dishes promptly. all and all I’m satisfied with my experience here.

Whoa cowboy, I mean whoa horse, I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this Mexican restaurant before. A Round Rock staple, in an old house at the end of the street, you will miss it if you are not careful. They do a great lunch business and many times there is not enough parking so cars park along the side street. This place is re-worked to booths and tables in various rooms of an old house; they have a giant Oak tree in the patio area. The house is a little old and the checkout area is very small but it is kept up well and the service has always been very good and quick. The cost is low and the food is good, the beef fajitas are sizzling and good as any you get in Round Rock; I like some of the lunch specials which include a taco, rice, beans, and a main enchilada(s) or other standard Mexican food choice. I like it because it is a Round Rock Mexican restaurant run by locals and most of Austin is not aware it exists but those in RR know and go! Would I go back? Yes I will and soon!

What a moron, dude orders fajitas and complains that he gets fajitas… lol! Anyhow, great food, great people and cozy little atmosphere, just a bit old and probably could use some updating. Outside is a bit rough. Again, food is excellent, sure its not excitingly crazy… its TEXMEX, hello! Anyhow, enjoy this place, you cant go wrong, when you order something off the menu, you actually get what you order. not sure what Matt is expecting but I enjoy getting what I order!

I’ll start by describing what was really unique about this place… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,… Shit, I fell asleep thinking of what was unique. Oh yeah, now I remember.NOTHING. Tex Mex fare. I ordered the fajitas. It came out on a sizzling iron platter with guac, sour cream and pico on the side. Flour tortillas, beans and mexican rice. .WOW, nothing new at all, Identical stuff you get at any Tex Mex restaurant. What was shocking was that it was packed during lunch. an entire herd of Tex Mex eaters. I really did scour the entire menu for something interesting, and nada. oh well, luckily this is Austin and there are other possibilities.

Need some Tex Mex full of flavor and grease but can’t make it to South Congress? Craving a grab-bag of salsa flavors and homefelt hospitality? Then take it to Garcia’s in downtown Round Rock! The ground beef quesadillas are the finest in town, while the enchiladas are also top-notch. The staff at Garcia’s is exactly what we crave in central Texas — less seriousness and formality and more of making sure the guest enjoys their experience. The waitstaff is less concerned with formality, instead choosing to focus on providing a fantastic dining experience; your margarita glass will never be dry and the salsa bowl will always be full. What could be better than that? The atmosphere can best be described as «unique» as the feast is to be had in a gutted house with makeshift booths and tables. Garcia’s lacks the décor of more popular(and commercial) joints like Chuy’s and La Margarita, but that’s part of the charm; less bells and whistles, more good eating. There is an outdoor patio, but I’ve never seen it open. Happy hour lasts until 7pm with cheap beer and an appetizer or two on special every day of the work week. The best part of Garcia’s is the esoteric nature of the clientele. From the moment you enter, you get the feeling that everyone inside is part of a secret club, not so willing to give up the initiation ritual. The food is great, the prices CHEAP($ 15 bucks at lunch will more then provide a feast for two hungry patrons), and the wait is never more than the time it takes to clear off a recently vacated table. Us locals hope the secret never gets out for our own selfish reasons, but on the flip side, we won’t be too upset if a quality Tex-Mex diner receives its fair shake. If you ever get the craving for Tex-Mex in Round Rock, give Garcia’s a try.
