Delicious puffy tacos and great service. Salsa was spicy and tacos weren’t too greasy! I definitely will come back to enjoy some tacos! They have a variety of menu items. Menudo, tacos, pancakes.

As always the three puffy tacos leave a smile on my lips! Two awesome juicy tender chicken and one macho man beef… Oh the guacamole on top! My advice is get extra napkins. And don’t forget the great hot sauce. Carne guisada is also mighty tasty. Tortillas from Heaven. Authentic waitresses. This is the real stuff folks! If you don’t like it then go back to Dallas or Anaheim or Taco Bell!

Tio Dan’s Puffy Tacos in Round Rock, TX, was Mike’s favorite breakfast restaurant. The tacos are delicious and the staff is friendly and efficient. Our family goes to this restaurant when they are in town and I always bring family and other friends here when I have the opportunity. Saturday is a very busy day and there is always someone else there that I recognize. Love the staff and the food, and the prices are right. Although they probably don’t cater, they do fill large orders and it is very efficient if you call ahead. They even include large cups of salsa and Pico.

Some of the worst breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. Actually, probably worst! I literally took a bite, and spit it back out. I ate the ham out of one of my tacos. Then k wrapped them back up in foil, put them on the counter and left. The potatoes in my tacos were raw! DISGUSTING! And it took 20 mins to get out. I’m all for a good wait if the food is worth it, but this is trash! The coffee is practically water and is the color of tea? Go ahead, have a gallon and wake up. I don’t have much else to say, just to probably stay away.

Loved the salsa they brought out with the chips, my caldo was incredibly tasty as well as my puffy beef taco. My toddlers pancake was surprisingly extra fluffy and delicious, I would recommend this others, The kitchen left out my rice for my caldo, but I bet it’s great with the soup.

First off… no matter what kind of Mexican food you want, Tio Dan’s will have it. It appeared as though the menu had approximately Two Thousand options. Wow. What I can vouch for immediately is the puffy tacos. Indeed, they are really really good. Fresh puffy tortilla, fresh meat, fresh guacamole, fresh all around and great flavor! I also had a chalupa which is one of my go-to Mexican items and they do theirs very well. Tio Dan’s is a cool joint right in the midst of Round Rock proper and I’ll be back. What great prices, great flavors, and nearly infinite choices.

LOVE their breakfast tacos! Best Barbacoa and Carne Guisada I have had! Get carne guisada, potato and cheese! Like the picadillo and potato with cheese too. Chorizo and egg is not greasy enough, but still better than most.

I only give it two stars, because out of necessity, I find myself going back. The workers are very short and rude. Today, I was served for brisket tacos, with huge chunks of fat in them. HUGE. Disgusting. In the past, I have placed orders, I’m going to pick it up with my number, and told that there was no order placed. They were rude about it! They should’ve just apologized and got me the food. We have had orders made incorrectly, and taking it back to turn them in for new orders, always with attitude.

Not for the faint of heart. Tasty chips and salsa, rice and beans. The puffy tacos are good if you have an iron stomach or probably after a night of heavy drinking. I think I’d come back to get regular tacos because I felt like death after eating puffy tacos. One thing I noticed is that if you sit down to eat you get a more limited menu. There seemed to be more options up at the counter, so perhaps the trick is to order to go.

I was craving a breakfast taco the other day and my boss sent me to Tio Dan’s. I have passed by this place dozens of times over the years and never once thought to stop in. I called my order ahead since I was ordering for 6 people and I’m glad I did because the line was insane, especially for it being such a tiny restaurant. I am only basing my rating on the breakfast tacos I have had(4 times in one week!) and the service, but I do want to try their lunch/dinner at some point. The only negatives I really have to say is that their parking lot can get a bit crazy(and it’s not paved well) and the line can get pretty long, I would recommend calling ahead, even for one person. The employees are friendly(and all seem to be named Linda?), the food is good and INEXPENSIVE and I would definitely recommend this place. There are lots of places to get breakfast tacos at in that area, but I can say after having nearly all of them this is the place to be.

I’m not too sure what to make of this place… I know they are a local favorite so I wanted to try it since we were in the hood. We walked in and I knew right away I probably wouldn’t like it because the place was honestly filthy, and empty. We sat at our table and I was trying not to stare at the table directly in front of us with piled up dirty dishes, but it was extremely hard not to notice. The waitress brought the chips and salsa and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the chips were, they tasted homemade and were warm. The waitress forgot our queso but our food came out fast, and while our tacos were greasy, they were flavorful and the salsa was a great addition. I think if we were to go back, I would just get takeout. The food was good and I would definitely recommend it.

Great puffy tacos and old school lunch specials that taste good… you can see that Tio Dan has been around for a while with all the locals that love to come here. Home style mexican comfort food that is tasty on a quick lunch break.

This place is a joke. My parents dragged me here and I wanted to shoot myself in the face. The only thing keeping this place afloat are the gringos that think this stuff is actually good. The only decent thing was the sweet tea. I’ve been to plenty of hole-in-the-wall Mexican food restaurants that have been a million times better than this place… If you’re reading this, save your money. Taco Bell would be a better option.

Great place to start the day with some awesome breakfast tacos. They have tons of options for breakfast taco fillings and a great price. The fresh salsa and pico were a highlight for me with really great flavors(but not too spicy!). The only reason for four stars was the wait. They’re normally pretty busy in the morning so service was a little slow but the tacos are worth the wait if you have time.

Suuuuper good chips and salsa(spicy!) We used a buy one get one free coupon for enchilada plates. Tasted fresh and cheesy. Reasonably quick service although it was later at night. The hubby has been obsessed with checking this place out since we moved to round rock, and we finally did it. We’ll likely be back soon :)

I have been wanting to try Puffy Tacos for 6 years. My husband and I decided to try Tio Dan’s Puffy Tacos on 06/12/2015. OK very easy to find right off freeway with plenty of parking. Service was courteous and friendly. When we walked in 80% of the tables were full of other patrons. During our visit we seen 4 tables cleared and new patrons seated. This place is Popular and it is in deed with in reason to be Because the Puffy Tacos are delicious. Rice and beans are flavorful so much so my husband ordered a to-go order of rice and beans. The chile and chips are fresh and great. They served as soon as your seated. I tried the Beef Puffy Taco and Chicken Puffy Taco. The shells are perfectly cooked not to hard and not to soft. Fresh produce and hearty serving of meat, cheese & guacamole. Honestly they are big and I was barely able to finish one. 2nd one was a great midnight snack! The prices were beyond reasonable… It was well worth the drive to Round Rock this is our new favorite restaurant and we will recommend it to all our friends and family!

Recommended by a friend, since I am from California I know top-quality Mexican restaurants even the small little hole in the walls. This is one of those little hole on the walls I ordered the Huervos con Chozio. It had beans and potatoes as a side. Potatoes had no flavor I needed to put more salt the beans had a burnt taste to them they are you overcooked or just didn’t taste good at all. Chozio was just alright. Like I said it’s a hole in the wall so don’t expect much.
