This is the best latte I have ever had. I was very very happy when I tried out lamppost. If this was close to my house I would be a regular. Most of the staff were very friendly and the gentleman making our drinks did an excellent job. The names of the drinks are creative and fun and they have a wide variety to choose from. Tried the pancakes too and would defiantly get them again. I hope I can make it back to this side of town very soon simply just to stop here. It is a great gem in this part of Austin.

Stopped in out of RR nightmare traffic. Good banter and amazing coffee. Oh yeah, free muffin/bread bite samples too. Only downside was that the traffic was pretty much the same once I left.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a long time, today I finally got a chance. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and quick to make recommendations based on my diet. The mocha milkshake(there version of a Frap) was incredibly delicious. They let me build my own breakfast taco, that was really good as well. There are lots of comfy places to sit, with wall outlets everywhere. Also, there are books and board games in the back.

Lamppost coffee is a true neighborhood coffee spot. You won’t find sleek retro-modern décor or surly hipster baristas here; just high quality coffee drinks made from fresh, locally-roasted beans. Nestled in a humble strip center that is very much the turf of Round Rock high school students, Lamppost features a comfortable campus vibe. Staff has always been friendly and personable, drinks are well-crafted, and waits are never long. I, uh, invest a lot of disposable income in the consumption of coffee. It’s medicinal, both for my consciousness and my sanity. Lamppost gets coffee right, and is now becoming my new daily spot.

I’ve experienced better. Much, much, much better. As soon as I walked in and approached the bar, the two kids working the bar glanced at me but quickly looked away so they could continue carrying on their conversation with each other. I stood in front of the girl behind the register for a good while, waiting to place my order but apparently their conversation was much too important and/or interesting to help a paying customer. Now, usually in a coffee shop I am greeted by the barista, but I got a complete lack of interest from the two. I was the one who had to get her attention and greet her. When I told her Hello, it sounded like a complete chore for her to respond back. Okay. I ordered a double latte and the boy behind the espresso machine said that their espresso was weaker this time around and apologized. When I went to drink my latte it was seriously lacking in flavor, did NOT taste like espresso was used. Perhaps they are able to fool their clientele who are less savvy with coffee, but I noticed immediately that it tasted more just like steamed milk with a tiny hint of coffee. Did they even put two shots? Tasted more like half of one shot. And if it actually was espresso, it was the absolute weakest espresso I have ever had in my life. But I digress. As I sat down to have my warm milk, in hopes that it would give me at least the slightest coffee buzz, I noticed a shocking amount of dishes and empty cups around the shop. The two kids working there seemed to have absolutely no interest in cleaning the store front and seemed much more interested in chatting with each other. Bad form, kiddos. Don’t think I will be returning here, ever. They lack a lot in customer care, have zero charm, the coffee is a bust and they seemingly like to keep the store dirty. No thanks, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

A great local coffee spot in Round Rock area. We came in to give a try and lamppost did not disappoint us. The noise was chill, nice place to hangout. It is spacious, open and comfortable. Great mix of seating options — lower chairs with coffee table, large sofas, high stools. There was also a diverse crowd in there. We had Summermoon latte and bagel with cream cheese. The order was made up quickly and the staff at the counter was courteous and easily struck a friendly conversation. Coffee is everything that is hyped to at Lamppost. Latte was smooth, creamy, rich, and aromatic. Bagel was tasty as well. Pricing is reasonable and would love to try different lattes and pastries. This place is awesome!

The staff is chummy, the Wintermoon Latte is delicious hot or cold, it has an atmosphere that appeals to both youth and business with tables and couches throughout, it’s an A+. Pros: — great coffee — easy on the wallet — friendly staff — breakfast tacos and other treats — great location — tables AND couches Cons: — sometimes difficult to find seating — if you’re not looking for it, you might miss it Thanks for the follow: twitter.com@ianofaustin

I found a decent coffee shop on the north side of Austin! Ok ok, it’s Round Rock. So the coffee here was great! They’re drinks are on the larger side, which I don’t like… but now I know! All they’re drinks come with 2 shots and their small lattes and what not come in 16oz cups. They have smaller mugs upon request!!! The mocha was really good. The barista, Jordan, was fantastic. The milk consistency was perfect, the latte art fun :), and the temperature… a perfect 145 °F. Customer service was fantastic. Jordan was really friendly, created a relaxed environment, and had several people sitting around the espresso machine chatting with him. Unlike other coffee shops… this didn’t stop the barista from paying attention to his other customers A+ service. The shop is full of an array of sitting arrangements. Comfy, worn couches and big cushioned chairs around tables and coffee tables, long tables in the back, small bistro tables throughout the front. There’s a lot of seating. I imagine the place feels really crowded when every seat is taken. The place had people chatting everywhere but also people sitting around reading and studying. So it’s a great place to hang out and chat without it being too loud. When I was there, the backroom was reserved for a ladies game of Bunco. When we arrived there was no sign letting us know. Maybe we arrived too far in advance but I still didn’t see any sign afterwards. :\ So be super vigilante when choosing to sit in the back area. It’s not closed off at all but is kind of secluded if you’re looking to reserve the area for something. I’m looking forward to going back :)

My wife and I just moved to the Round Rock area from California. We’re sort of «coffee snobs» and can really appreciate a coffee shop that does things right. We were very excited when we found Lampost Coffee. They brew(and sell) coffee by local Austin roasters, which is a plus. We often buy whole bean coffee bags to brew at home too, and are never disappointed. When I’m in the mood for something sweet, my drink of choice is an iced Vanilla Latte. I’m always extremely pleased with the way they make it, and it might be the best one I’ve ever had. My wife mixes it up and likes to try different things, but she also loves everything she’s tried. Lastly, the service is always top notch, which very important to us. The baristas are always very friendly and make our visits that much more enjoyable.

Finally decided it’s time to write a review after I realized just how good their coffee and tea are. Went to a few other places in the last two weeks and essentially threw my money away as I did not drink more than a third of drinks at other places. Cold brew: I buy it in bulk to have with me throughout the week for early mornings at school or clinical sites. It’s never bitter and I don’t get reflux from it if I drink it on an empty stomach. And the price is pretty awesome and it is so much fresher than ones you can buy at the grocery store. Moon milk: I put that **** in everything: coffee or tea. It’s sweeeeeeet! And creamy. And dreamy. And I wish I can take it to go as well for my cold brew. Drinks I’ve had: most of the teas, autumn moon, summer moon, winter moon, iced Boss, slap in the face, espresso milk shake, Italian soda, dirty chai, smoothies, cortado… And a few other concoctions I’ve requested. You can even choose different beans for your espressos! They don’t just have one type! Everything has been delicious and they will happily remake anything you don’t like or that isn’t up to your standards. Food: I’ve had pancakes in the morning which are stellar and I wish I could get them all day. I’ve also had some of the treats from Russell’s Bakery that they sell. I like the spinach and cheese croissant. they now have a panini press to make them warm and delicious! The owner: The B man is a very personable fella. He will discuss coffee and tea with you and why things are done the way they do them at Lamppost such as steeping times for teas. He is open to suggestions and feedback and likes to meet his patrons. The staff: they are the best. Never rude. Always helpful and friendly. They are even apologetic about having to kick you out because it’s time to close. I especially love Natalie, Jeremy, Sam and Jordan. Very good people skills and they will make suggestions to you if you are clueless. There’s a Square rewards program: 10% off purchase after 10 stars are collected. Owner was considering some revisions to this so double check with them. Ok so bottom line: I love this place and I hope it’s open forever!

Came here on Monday morning to study. Coffee was pretty good. Cool place to study. pretty decent size tables. Music was kinda loud though… somewhat hard to study. Lot of high school kinds rushing in during lunch hour so we bounced but might stay for it next time. I would return and maybe try sitting in the back, perhaps further away from the speaker. and bring ear plugs.

Best Coffee Shop in Round Rock? YES! Coffee is everything that it was hyped up to be. Better than the coffee — the staff! No wannabe hipsters working here like so many boutique coffee shops. I truly love finding local gems like Lamppost! Thanks dudes. Can’t wait to return.

I really liked the atmosphere at Lamppost Coffee when I came in with a friend to try them out. We ordered the Winter Moon and the what I believe was called The Boss,(five shots) which I ordered iced. Both the guy who greeted me at the counter and took my order, and the barista were really nice and had great recommendations. The barista had my order up pretty quickly, as well as my friend’s. We sat by the window in deep, comfortable chairs at a table. Scanning the room, there were a lot of different seating options — lower chairs with a coffee table, higher tables, regular tables — a really great mix. There was also a really diverse crowd in there too. I noticed some medical students way in the back had spread out with their studying — a great thing to see. There were also a few older couples off in another corner and people like my friend and I scattered about the café. Later in the afternoon, a lot of the high school students started streaming in to play card games and hang out. The noise level was chill and it was just a really nice, relaxed atmosphere — truly fantastic. We did enjoy our coffee — I know that I chose a super strong drink. I sipped it carefully and didn’t finish it but the coffee taste was more than decent. No bitter, sour, or burnt taste — rich, nutty flavors with a nice warm finish. That’s really what I would expect out of a small batch roaster. My drink was a little sweeter than I would have liked, which is also what my friend said of her Winter Moon. We both agreed that we’d like to come back to try other drinks. Four stars for now. this place is pretty solidly good.

Got a half moon and a cold slap in the face. I thought the half moon was a little sweet for my taste but perfect for my wife. Prices are very reasonable. Tried a breakfast taco also. It was decent. The cold slap in the face was very smooth. I will be back again for sure.

Loved it! Saw the reviews and had to try it! I had the Summer Moon and my hub had an iced coffee. Delicious… can’t wait to come back! Update: Coffee is still super good however their customer service is way lacking. The gentleman(he’s always here) is really rude and not friendly. We sat at the counter for almost a minute. He was making coffee right in front of us and didn’t say a word to us. Just weird for someone so un-friendly to be the front runner of a coffee shop:/

First morning as a new resident of Austin and missing home(Seattle) needed a good cup of coffee. After checking Unilocal for things near me, I found Lamppost Coffee. Was surprised to see so many positive reviews. Now I understand! Had a cold brew coffee and a spinach/egg/cheese taco which I was told was a must for this town. The coffee was amazing and smooth. The taco was tasty and really filling. The best part was the friendliness of the staff! They took the time to understand what each customer was looking for. They asked questions about what style of roast was desired depending on the drink. Being a new coffee house, they also were trying to remember names and make each person feel like a welcome guest. Everything added up to a great experience. Not sure where I will end up living and if it will be close to here, but think I will be back!

The owners and staff are so thoughtful. They take made to order to a new level. The cold brew is outstanding. They have plenty of comfy seating. The music is chill and not obnoxious. They have Round Rock doughnuts. So glad Round Rock has a comfy, cool coffee shop.

Where do I start… this is a cute little coffee shop! The Barista’s were great! I came here because its close by and it was new. I love trying new coffee places so I figured why not. My friend had told me about moon milk and how I just had to try coffee with it. So when I walked in and saw they offered a winter moon(iced coffee) I just had to get it! I am so glad I did! I have been in two days in a row and I am hooked ;) I have no idea what is in moon milk(besides apparently Unicorn tears lol) but I can’t get enough! I wish they offered some to take home like summer moon does. But I will defiantly be back :)

Hurray for the opening of this coffee shop! Round Rock needed some alternate options in this area, and luckily Lamppost did not disappoint. The space is large, open and comfortable. HUGE plus for having loads of comfy seating, 2 sofas and a bunch of comfy chairs– for those like me that really really dig this option. I had an americano, and I gotta admit, it was one of the top ones I’ve had in a long time. The espresso was fantastic, and in fact, really didn’t even need sweetener(I’ll skip it next time.) The music is mellow, the wifi is working great, and the owner gets everyone’s name and welcomes them personally. For those that work from home or just want a quiet place to read, relax or meet friends– you should totally check it out. Only request– have an option for coffee drip refills(those that stay for a long time will dig this option.)

We’ve been anxiously awaiting the opening of Lamppost for a while and this shopping center needed this. We come over here all the time for The Book Spot and Hoody’s and Teji’s, now we can get a caffeine fix too. I enjoyed a large iced unsweetened café latte and had it finished before i even got home. They sell Wild Gift coffee beans, roasted in Round Rock, i’ll need to pick up a bag the next time i’m near here. I would have posted pics of my drink but by the time i thought of it… all i had was a cup of ice… another senior moment.
