Railyard Saloon

Eeeeeeks. How can a bar so new feel so dirty? No taps, and beer selection is abysmal… if you’re only going to carry domestics in a bottle, why not carry High Life? Railyard was featuring a bourbon called CB Jackson, which the bartender told me was their well whiskey. I decided to get one with Dr. Pepper (oh, whoops, can’t do that! Their only mixers are Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite… great) but it didn’t taste half bad. Boyf got a Dos Equis. Our tab was $ 8… really? It’s not like the atmosphere would suggest anything high-​dollar (it did used to be a convenience store, after all), and I know of at least two places of equivalent atmosphere or better on Main Street where the same tab would be $ 6.50 or $ 7.
One of the only redeeming features of the bar seemed to be the internet jukebox. I sacrificed a dollar to play two songs and sat for 20 minutes without hearing either song while being barraged with horrible country-​pop songs the entire time. (It’s one of those that you can pay slightly more to have your song played next, so I’m sure people were always pushing their terrible music to the top.) I would’ve been willing to wait longer but the CB Jackson started giving me serious, serious heartburn. Yuck!!! Add all this to the constant berating of the female bartenders by slimy barflies and you’ve got yourself a pretty decent picture of the Railyard Saloon.
If you love country-​pop music, overpriced domestic beers in a bottle, and heartburn-​inducing whiskey, Railyard Saloon is just for you! Otherwise, run away… far away.
