Been here plenty of times always order migas and eggs always fresh cooked meal. Not to pricey or expensive.

Would like to know why the hand written sign on the door said they were open till 1:00 pm today but at 12:40 they said they were closed!!! Not very professional and not really fair to their customers.

The carne asada wet burrito is so worth the drive. The sauce is different than the red or cheese sauces I’ve had before.

Terrible food. Charges a whole doller to use a card. Place needs to get with the times

I used to love this place until I found a metal piece in my carne asada burrito. Click on the pic to see the size of the metal piece found — it’s the size of a large button! I left a detailed message for Jesse, the owner, on 08÷10÷15 and he did not have the courtesy to return my call. I was not asking for free-bees or compensation. Only to inform him of the unsanitary, disgusting finding in my food. I ordered four carne asada burritos that day and fortunately my children did not get that particular burrito because I almost chipped my tooth and I could’ve swallowed it. No courtesy call back = no respect for your customers = I Unilocal my disgusting experience. After over 15 years as customers, Adiós Abarca’s!

A few good things to eat here. Just ordered the menudo, pinche puro agua. Chicken burrito was a disappointment.

Tolerable enough to finish without complaints; nowhere near good enough for another visit.

Came here with my moms, i consider myself a taco connoisseur and this place was no Bueno. Super overpriced tacos, unless you want hard shelled tacos for a buck but everything was overpriced. Asada was rubbery and chewy, the al pastor looked dried and the carnitas was also dry. It was hot as hell and I sat sweaty and uncomfortably. Thought to myself wth is this place. Never coming back. 5 tacos and a small drink came out to $ 16.00.

One of the most unfriendly environments I have eve been in. My family and I felt as if we had walked in on a party we were not invited too. Food was mediocre at best. My daughter had the cheese enchilada and said the sauce was gross. We should have went to Casa Alvarez across the street!

This place needs a serious overhaul. Ordered the world famous jumbo burrito and was greeted with a lackluster product. The meat inside the burrito was room temperature and was lacking portion. Outside the burrito I found the sauce and melted cheese pleasant. Value was so so, found it absolutely ridiculous that this day in age a restaurant charges 1.00 to use credit cards. Hopefully this restaurant evolves and exits it’s dark age.

This is good place for tacos and other Mexican foodie, we tried their fajita and carne Asada plates, very yum! I always love their fruits with milk and cream on top, delicioso!

You know it’s not the Ritz Carlton in here but the food is really good the prices are really reasonable. And the portion size is right on mark. so if you don’t want to spend a ton of money on frills and ambience this is your place

Best chile relleno ever! Another good one is at the pepes in Alhambra. But at taco pub, it’s pretty legit. Try it with the chile verde green sauce! Been coming here forever. It makes the fact that I now live in the Bay Area very sad. I can’t find a chile relleno burrito that compares! Please open another location in Berkeley, ca! I promise to visit several times a week and bring my friends.

Been coming here since 1998 on account of I love the Jumbo Burrito. Less than 7 bucks. I recommend getting it filled with Chile Verde. Not only do you get it for a great price, it is also delicious! I write this review because recently I visited and placed my order, picked it up and took ‘my precious’ home. I got inside and unboxed my prize and what did I find? A dry burrito. I called the restaurant immediately and was reassured by Kristina that my order would be replaced. I returned like a loyalist. This is where it gets disappointing I got there and the cook(who promised to replace my order), hid behind the language barrier and then blamed it on the cashier who I spoke to on the phone, but wasn’t there that day.(I speak spanish but don’t always admit it). The cook promised to replace my order, but when I got there said the cashier ‘miscommunicated’. The good thing is that after 30 minutes of arguing on the phone with the owner, he finally stepped up and replaced my order!(While acting like he was doing me a favor conducting proper business). Thanks Jesse!

We got chicken and steak tacos, both were of decent quality, but lacking in flavor. Maybe they forgot something. They have a few salsas to choose from that will help to add some flavor. The restaurant is small and kept fairly clean. Prices are decent for what you get. long story short, it’s okay, but why eat here when you can get awesome tacos elsewhere.

What’s for dinner today? A freaking JUMBO chicken burrito with rice, beans and cheese and a large bowl of menudo(beef tripe and hommne, corn like thingy!) Both 6.99 each. I get value for your money here and the food is really good! Tasty and cheap! What’s there to complain? Yums! Awesome service as usual. We’ll be back and Thurdays and Fridays for the Cocido!

This place is great! I’m not the biggest fan of mexican food – and yes, I really do mean that – but I enjoy eating here. BB and AB like the giant burritos(they skip the chicken and pork, btw, and go for all beef). The guacamole here seems a bit skimpy to me, but it’s good enough on the burritos. C: I like the different salsas they have on the side – feel free to grab a few! The green isn’t spicy for me, but it’s yummy on the burrito! I should mention this place is SPECTACULARLY tacky. As in I would walk past this place with a grimace still if I hadn’t been dragged in by my friend. So here’s for spreading the word on Unilocal! PS. If you’re not sure what to get, ask. The suggestions have always been pretty good.(One suggestion was for their Horchata; yes, their Horchata is great. I think it’s actually made onsite!)

I have been coming here for years, as I live very close to this place. If my family and I want take-out Mexican food, this is the place to come. Do not be fooled by the look of the place; the food is excellent. I usually always order the one dollar tacos in the evenings. They are good-sized, although a bit greasy. Nonetheless, the tacos are very tasty and worth the price. Four of them is usually enough to fill me up, so my meals here are typically cheap. The look of the place is misleading. The décor inside is definitely outdated and almost repugnant. Some of my friends refused to go here due to the look before I brought them. Give the place a shot, even with its old-looking sign and colorful tables. I usually take out, as it is all about the food. Food — 5 Service — 4(sometimes a bit slow) Atmosphere — 3

I’m guessing I came in on an «off» kinda day for them… ordered 3 tacos at $ 2.09 a piece… BARBACOA Decent flavor from the beef, good tortillas… sadly the beef was pretty damn dry but it is a pretty big ass taco. CARNITAS Pretty bad carnitas, even drier than the barbacoa, I had two bites and tossed the other half. ALPASTOR It was halfway decent… at least it wasn’t dry… on the contrary, the pig was so damn moist it was almost«mushy» not a good thing. All in all, DONOT go out of your way to go here! However, if you’re in the area and hard up for Mexican food, it’s a decent spot to hit up. However, if you got time to kill… GOEAST! Well, to East LA I mean.
