Crane sushi never disappoints. I’ve been going to the one in Alhambra for over 5 yrs. They have fresh sushi great drink specials 2 for 1 and $ 3.99 for mojitos & martinis…$ 1 bud lights after 8 pm… i recommend the las vegas roll & dynamite roll… the house salad dressing is the bomb .and their lunch specials are insane bento box for $ 6.99 or $ 7.99

So we’re here on a Saturday night nearing 7pm and the place is pretty dead. We ordered the angus beef shabu and it was alright. I think the shabu is like all the other shabu places in Rowland(same offerings, although the big minus for this place is that the shabu soup base is straight up plain). Jazz Cat at the other end of the plaza out does this place big time though when it comes to atmosphere, setting, and service. The set up of Crane Sushi isn’t bad in any way, but I think just because it was so dead tonight, the place had a stuffy vibe to it. Service was kinda dead but at least one waiter came by a few times to ask if we wanted tea refills or whatever. Oh and speaking of tea, remember that they charge for it. I felt it was sneaky of the waitress to ask us if we wanted water or tea when they charge for the tea($ 1.25 per cup). I know a number of places do this, but I have been to places where tea is complimentary, and usually if it isn’t complimentary, the waitress won’t offer it to you. Just thought it was shady. I think one main downer to this place may be the sushi, as the majority of reviewers have mentioned. But I haven’t had any sushi here, so I can’t account for that — but I can account for, though, how the other few tables that were occupied tonight had people all eating the shabu. I guess it’s because of the whole 50% off thing for shabu that Crane Sushi has going on — really tries giving Jazz Cat a run for its business(although frankly speaking… it hasn’t hurt the big Cat too much. That place is packed every night) Anyways, the food was alright but I don’t think I’ll be back at this place, mainly because I don’t go to Seasons Plaza very much. And if I ever find myself back at Seasons, it’d probably be for Jazz Cat or JJ Bakery Café to be honest. Given the overall bad reviews and near empty restaurant I walked in to today, I don’t think this place will survive for that long.

My boyfriend and I love coming here… especially after 8pm, where there are $ 1 bud lights and buy1 get1 free martinis! We’ll usually order two special rolls in order to get the FREEBBQ short ribs, which are soo amazing and are served on a hot skillet with onions yum… although once in a while ill order the box special which includes your choice of 2 meats, dumplings, fish etc. A salad, soup, rice and 6 California rolls. For only $ 12!!! If you come for lunch I think its only $ 8! Service is iiight(hence the 4 stars). The staff is always friendly, but I’d like for them to check on my table just to see if we need refills, or anything in general atleast twice… is that too much for a paying customer to ask? Anywho, over all a cool joint for sushi or just a yummy dinner & a cocktail, staff is friendly but needs to improve on their waiting skills.

My review for this place is strictly on the ALCOHOL! Its been a tradition for me where I must come here before I dine in Rowland Height. I love FLAMINGSPICE(the hot AYCE hot pot place right next door), but I hate the LINES/WAITING So… I convienently found a place nearby that SERVEDALCOHOL! THEHAPPYHOUROFTHISPLACEWASAWESOMETOO! $ 1 beers and buy one get one free martinis @ $ 4.99? NOTBAD… GREATPLACETOGETYOURBUZZONBEFOREEATINGTOO! And another cool thing about this place was that this was ONEOFTHEONLYONESTHATSERVEDALCOHOL… and HAD A HAPPYHOURLATEATNIGHT… i usually go to flaming spice around 9 – 9:30PM UNTILTHEN! ^-^

Bleh The sushi roll menu looked overprice and very unappetizing, so we opted for the combos instead. I got the BBQ Rib & Sesame Chicken Combo($ 12.99). –Miso soup — too sweet and hardly tasted like miso soup in the first place. –The salad was just a mix of lettuce with a type of sesame dressing. Unremarkable –BBQ Rib — tasted as it was intended to taste. It’s probably the best item on the combo list. –Sesame chicken — Bro said, «Wow, that looks just like popcorn chicken.» Indeed, it was popcorn chicken with a type of sesame sauce(that very much resembled the salad dressing). Food: 2 — i’d rather eat at an Asian fast food restaurant for these mediocre tasting items Price: 2 Service: 3 — A-Ok Playing hip hop and lady gaga for family dinner ambiance was disappointing.

My dad insisted we try this place out after seeing this place on a commercial. It’s in the four season plaza and we went for dinner, so finding parking wasn’t too difficult. The interior is a little cute. I don’t quite know how thatched huts fit with«crane sushi» but I digress. We had some sashimi, salmon skin hand rolls, and since the shabu shabu was 50% off, we got the seafood with a side of beef(not Kobe). Service was lacking, and while I appreciate the fact they had ginger, onions, etc in those convenient containers, they weren’t cold, and they were pretty unappetizing. Fish doesn’t taste fresh, but the salmon skin hand rolls were amazing! When they brought out the shabu shabu, the soup base was mediocre, but the seafood they brought out was very good, especially the scallops and shrimp. The rest of the items were… eh. Dipping sauces were average as well. They show R rated movies so… the atmosphere was a little off. If you want better shabu shabu, go to Jazz Cat. Left feeling a little satiated, but wasn’t that satisfied. t probably wouldn’t come back here.

While the food tasted great… keep in mind we ordered mainly rolls and sushi and had no complaints about it. We also got in on a weeknight so it wasn’t crowded if it ever does get that way. Service was just Ok, there were times that we were ignored and wasn’t served at a moderate amount of time. Still fine overall though. Ok so now to the weird part. They were showing some rated R movie on screen… I believe it was Gamer with Gerard Butler. If you guys have seen it you’re probably thinking HUH?!? For those of you who don’t… in which I didn’t either… well, until I got into Crane Sushi… it’s kinda a weird movie… and it also contains nudity and fowl language… how is this appropriate for kids! Well, there was actually 2 kids in the restaurant… but were not old enough to understand this kinda stuff, but still… How can they show that on the TVs? While the food was great, don’t get me wrong… they need to re-consider what they put on TV though. Gamer isn’t exactly the best choice to throw on the tube while your customers are eating sushi. Service was just OK, so that’s my overall for Crane… but I’m going to click NO for«Good for Kids» because it wasn’t for me.

Honestly, the only thing that is worth it here is the combo meal or their bento lunch. You get to choose 2 items from a list and it comes with California rolls, salad, rice, and miso soup. Only downside to that is that it is dine in only. You would think that for the dinner price of this being more than lunch, the portions would be bigger or you get to choose one more item. That isn’t the case though. Same amount, you just pay more. For a place that is named Crane SUSHI, their sushi isn’t so great. The fish doesn’t taste all that fresh. I tried their Kobe beef shabu and it wasn’t too bad. It really does not come with that much meat though. If you’re not that hungry, then this might fill you up. Otherwise, I recommend you order something else or go somewhere else all together.

This is mean to say but. I really hope this business fails and GTFO Where do I even begin. the décor to the place is nice, but small. really small. but who needs a lot of space is your food sucks right? I came here twice(wasn’t my choice for both times). their menu is EXPENSIVE and their quality is SHITTY. really really shitty. Other sushi places with shitty quality know they’re shitty and don’t charge up the ass, but this place is ridiculous. Okay so the price isn’t TOO high, but $ 9-$ 15 A ROLL? are you kidding me? And the quality isn’t even great. why not just spent $ 20 for great quality ayce sushi at Asahi in Riverside? Anyways, I hate this place. their quality sucks, their servers are a bit ADD, the cuts aren’t even cut right at times, high price for the shitty quality, etc. etc. I rant, but I had no choice for this place. it’s fucking shit and the 2.5 stars is a sign btw the sushi tastes like it was either frozen then defrosted or just left out to spoil a bit BTW to all the reviewers rating this place highly. stop being retarded and yes I’m calling you out miso soup is good? wtf lol go buy miso paste and add some water, tofu, seaweed and onions cheap price for great sushi? .then you must have overpaid for shitty sushi your whole life other places are better but 3x more expensive? Uh. are you serious. how about you try this place less expensive, better quality, better service, all you can eat and that includes the best damn yellowtail ever. not to mention all you can eat green tea icecream seriously, raise your standards and stop giving shitty places high ratings they don’t deserve. or just get a new tongue with working tastebuds

it’s funny to read all the reviews… this place is called crane sushi, not crane hotpot or crane shabu-shabu. strange to me that every other table was ordering hotpots at a sushi place. ** it is a chinese owned japanese restaurant. so maybe they wanted to explore hotpot. i don’t remember the alhambra restaurant having it before… ** we went in because of the 50% off sushi. it was good… not stellar… not that bad either. ordered baked mussels(6) that looked like dynamite. tried the lobster roll and snow crab roll. surprisingly better than expected. then we had white tuna, albacore, yellowtail, scallop, mackerel. the pieces are a good size cut. the restaurant is too small. the crane sushi in alhambra is much better in comparison since they have more help and three times more space! i didn’t like how the tables did not have a higher partition. if the partition was just a little higher, you would have more privacy. also the big table next to our partition put their tables together. the the waiter put all the random things on the table ON the partition inbetween us. this included table sign, soy sauce, chopsticks, ginger, etc. they should have just removed it because what if the soy sauce had been knocked over and all over our table? common sense people. but you know, common sense is not common. it was enjoyable but service was slow. i think it is also that the kitchen is slow. they really should offer free edamame to keep you busy while your meal is being prepared. i’ll be back cuz it’s close to home and 50% off still… and maybe try the hotpot…

I’m a super Japanese food lover, and finally had a chance to visit this place last night with 2 other fiends! What can I say? I should say I got owned because this restaurant’s logo was designed well~ I thought was a pretty good sushi place to eat.(cz of the name and logo) The moment I stepped in, What a Bummer!!! I knew I wasn’t going to get good food for the night. Because while the server guided us to table, I saw MAJORITY of customers eating hot pots … not sushi. Since I knew I won’t get any good sushi, we ordered whatever… Uni, two special rolls, California roll, and Yellow tail roll. & we got a complimentary Korean BBQ short rib. The bill was $ 60+ & we were also charged for Hot tea…($ 1.50) isn’t it usually free at sushi place? oh well, For some reason, the BBQ Short rib came out first… n then followed with sushi after 5~10 min. which was kinda odd… Those Americanized rolls is hard to be not yummy… But we were wrong! Nothing was good!!! The only thing that was worth eating was the complimentary korean bbq short rib. Ha…

Typically I would give this place a 1 star rating because the service was so slow, but it being Valentines Day… I bumped it up a star. My review will mostly consist in comparison to the location Alhambra location. While the Alhambra location is 3X’s the size of the industry location, the amount of waiters at both location is about 3 per shift(give or take). The specials at the both locations are the same, only thing really different is the size of location. Now what really bothered me at this location was the crappy service from the waiters. For the most part the waiters did not do anything else but bring us our food. The waiters treated everyone the same which was primarily empty drinks, minimum 15 minutes per plate to come out, and no real incentive to service. What bothers me is the fact that the Alhambra location has 3x the customers, same amount of waiters, and they are always attentive compared to the industry location. My final conclusion is fairly simple… If you are a fan of the Alhambra location and industry is closer to home, make the extra 15 minute drive to the Alhambra location.

Lunched here with my mom and her friend who have been here before and said they liked it. But of course I had to check on Unilocal to see what others had to say about this place and was kind of scared about what food I would get. I played it safe and ordered the lunch special bento box with chicken teriyaki and shrimp/vegetable tempura. We also got spicy tuna roll, yellow tail, yellow tail toro and salmon sushi. I expected frozen sushi but it was surprisingly alright. My favorite was the yellow tail toro, then yellow tail. I wouldn’t recommend the spicy tuna roll(seemed overly spicy than usual) and the california roll that came with my lunch special was a bit too mayonnaise-y. The service was decent and the place was clean.

Sushi was terrible. My parents had to spit out their soft shell crab sushi because it tasted like it was spoiled. And my tempura crunchy roll was falling apart; way more rice stuck together than you can taste anything else. And I also ordered shrimp tempura by itself, it was not at all crunchy. –_– No wonder the place was dead when we went in. And on top of that, there was one other family at another table leaving when we got there. we should’ve noticed how much unfinished sushi was left on their table. Service was ehh.

Came here last weekend on a Saturday night, and it was like a ghost town in there. This place is located in the new plaza on Gale called Four Seasons Plaza, which is right across the freeway from Diamond Plaza. Perhaps it was because it hasn’t made quite the impression that Diamond Plaza has resulting in the lack of customers? Who knows. It was my first time here so we thought we’d try a bit of everything. We ended up ordering a Spider Roll, a Tempura Crunch Roll, Masago Rolls, a set of Lobster Rolls, a Cali hand roll, and their Kobe and Angus beef shabu. The rolls were pretty decent, average… Nothing really stuck out. It wasn’t really good, but it wasn’t bad. But their shabu was a different story. If you had to order the shabu I would recommend spending a little extra money and order the Kobe, you’ll definitely taste the difference. The Angus beef wasn’t a juicy as the Kobe, but like I said before with the other food here, it was decent. Out of all the food, I really think that the shabu was the best we had all night. There was only one server that night and as nice as he was, he constantly switched languages between our orders and it confused us sometimes. He would switch between Japanese, Chinese, and English then forget what he said earlier and asked us what was our order again. He was a sweetheart, really nice, but kind of clumsy. But sadly, I still have to dock a star for the confusing service. They also ended up forgetting my Tempura Crunch Roll. We asked if they would check if everything was in order and we were told that they made everything for us, but when we got our checks they didn’t even add the Tempura Crunch Roll onto our order. So another star for lack of attention when taking our order. Over all, it was an average visit. I’ve had better times. Maybe I’ll come back during the day for lunch and give that a try? Probably not though…

Not worth eating inside, service is sloppy and slow. we were actually moved from our original seats because a family that came after us did not want to sit next to anyone which I saw as very rude as we are paying customers and should be respected as such. Also it took our server 15−20mins after originally being seated to take our order but that was only beacuse we asked them to take our order. I mean it was truly not busy and the workers there seemed in no rush or distress that they’re attention should be elsewhere. Price wise it was decent, $ 3 for 6 piece cut roll and $ 8 for a 6 piece large special roll(house special) when you order 2 house special you get a free treat. Quality of food is OK, pretty much on par with what you pay and how busy it is there. Overall — I just don’t enjoy sitting and eating here. In all honesty I do not want to ever go back there, beacuse I now feel offended. **I hope this review DID show how they made me feel and about the food. I still have a bit of a PO hangover from there…

I don’t have much to say about this restaurant except for the fact that some people just don’t know how to do Japanese right. Ugh! My dad ordered sashimi. The sashimi came out still frozen and we had to wait for it to melt before we could eat it. I order Agedashi Tofu and it wasn’t made right. My brother got the crunch roll and even though they were the size of the circumference of a tennis ball, it was more rice than good substance. i think the best part of my meal was the miso soup — sorry to say. On a positive note, the service was pretty good. We order two rolls from a special menu where you get a free dish of ribs. The ribs never came out — we forgot about them. They brought them out after the bill was paid but they apologized so much that everything was ok.

Went to check this place out. Pretty quiet for a Friday night. It’s a grand opening month so it was 50% sushi on all the handrolls… The best was the avocado and eel roll(can’t really go wrong with that) Other than that, the other sushi rolls I tried(california, crab & shrimp, spicy tuna etc)…they were ok. For some reason, some of the rolls(or at least the rice) reminded me of Costco sushi/Kikkoman sushi… rice was a little too mushy at times for me. So in the end, I may visit while its 50% off but not sure if I’d come again for regular price…
