Wonderful when you consider the cost. Ten plates costs just $ 20. That’s probably twice times the amount you’d get at a restaurant for the same price. Of course it’s nothing fancy. It’s a revolving sushi bar, you an’t expect that. But it’s clean. The sushi tastes fantastic. The servers are nice. What more can you ask for?

Week days and nights dollar udon! Come on! $ 2 a plate! Must try! UNI, conch, real crab California rolls, and toro, are must try! Again, please don’t expect the high end quality sushi from here, it is what you can get for the excellent price! My personal favorites: $ 1.00 udon, UNI, CONCH(this is #1), all real crab rolls, these are the deals!

Out of all the rotating sushi places in Rowland Heights, I seem to always end up here. This is located in a plaza and has plenty of parking spaces underground and on surface lot. Though this plaza gets insanely busy at weekend nights. $ 2 a plate, can’t really complain. Quality is what you’re paying for, I haven’t had any BAD quality issues per say. Just decent. They don’t have all their sushi selections on the rotating table so it’s always good to look through the menu and order from there instead. At least that way you know it’s some what more fresh and hasn’t been sitting there for awhile. Service is great and attentive and nice. No complaints.

This revolving sushi bar is cheaper than other places but the quality is just meh. I would only come mainly for the seared beef. The juice from the beef goes onto the rice so you don’t need soy sauce or anything to go along with it! Other than that, I’d go somewhere else if you were look for better quality. For $ 2 a plate though I guess there’s not much to complain about but they do add up! Depending on the type of sushi, it either comes in 1 – 4 pieces. For example, california roll & spicy tuna come in 4, spider roll comes in 2, spicy crunchy & kula roll come in 3, toro in 1, etc. You get the point! I’ve been here a couple times. Last night was the first time I came when there was a full house and the host/server was not so friendly. She wouldn’t say anything when we asked for something and just ran off and would sometimes forget to bring our orders. Overall, food is average, service is okay.

Although it is cheap, it is cold and it lacks the quality I hope for. In the end, you pay the same amount(if not, more) to have your stomach filled as any other sushi place.

Revolving sushi bar for $ 2 a plate. The sushi is just okay(you get what you pay for). Nothing extravagant, but I was taken aback by the $ 1 udon. Pretty good, not too bad for a buck! They didn’t have much of a selection. Mostly rolls, such as Philadelphia, Crunch roll, Salmon skin, Caterpiller, Spicy Salmon, etc. I was already over with all the sushi dishes half way in, because it kept on repeating it self. What I don’t like is how they put that top/cover on all the dishes(i know they put it on so flies or people won’t touch the food), but for things that are fried like tempera or chicken gyoza, it got all soggy! BOO… not a fan of that. Wouldn’t come back here, unless it was for lunch maybe… not for dinner, rather go to a nicer sushi restaurant for that.

Parking: The restaurant is located inside of the Diamond Plaza(not to be confused with Diamond Jamboree Plaza in Irvine). The whole plaza was pretty empty, so parking wasn’t a problem at all. — Price: All plates on the revolving belt are $ 2. If you don’t see the sushi that you want, you can always look at the menu and order your plates through waiters /waitresses. — Environment: So basically you sit right next to the conveyor belt and keep staring at those sushi plates until you spot the plate you want. Overall service was okay, but I was surprised that they didn’t say«thank you(arigato gozaimashita)» in Japanese when my friend and I were leaving the restaurant — which was unacceptable to my friend who happened to work in a Japanese restaurant. — Food: Eel Nigiri, eel California, seared salmon w/Japanese mayo, seared scallop w/Japanese mayo — They were all mediocre; I wasn’t expecting fresh seafood around 9PM anyway. This is one of the place to fill my craving for sushi at a lower price.(3⁄5) — Rating: If I have a choice between Gatten Sushi and this, I would rather go to Gatten Sushi because it has more selections than Kula. 3⁄5 for overall experience.

I get to choose which dish from a revolver. Which means if it doesnt taste good or fresh… you have only yourself to blame. Everything is $ 2 Double the amount of empty plates in front of you… No surprises when the bill comes. You can«special» order sushi and sides and they will bring it out«fresh». So it’s not sitting on the revolver for who knows how long. Beware… Green tea is also $ 2. REALLY…

How can you hate a $ 1.00 udon for lunch? Get that plus two plates for $ 2 its $ 5.00 for a light lunch! Love — Sweet shrimp with FRIEDSHRIMPHEAD! so yummy and you can just eat ONE which I love! Conch — Sounds gross, but i really like the texture of conch and usually have to pay like 20 – 30 to get it served sashimi style at chinese restaurants and such. Its actually not bad here for $ 2 for 2 pieces! Salmon Belly — Why would you get the regular salmon for the same price? Its good for the price Bad — the put this white mayo-ish sauce on the rolls which is like a weird sour mayo thing, totally not what i’m expecting. The spider roll is also two HUMUNGO pieces with lettuce to keep it from getting soggy. I would totally order it more, but that lettuce really detracts from the spider roll. This is a regular place for lunch since it is ready to go. We also get the seared beef as that is pretty good, the KULA roll is good too. My hubs likes the crispy rice with tuna here too. I like how you can order it from the waiters so that you can get any item freshly made for you as well, since they can do handrolls too. Its not the best sushi ever by far, but the concept is casual and has its benefits too being easier on the wallet, unless you are a sumo eater.

$ 2 sushi?! You can’t go wrong with that. I usually go to some restaurant in West LA with a similar concept but it is $ 3 a plate cash only. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it might be just a dollar more but it adds up especially if you have the appetite I have. What I usually order is salmon sushi, scallop sushi, uni sushi(it’s $ 2 per piece), seared salmon, seared scallop, sweet shrimp, some type of handroll, eel sushi, is beef and egg sushi. And the list goes on. Every type of their sushi is yummy! Writing about this make me crave it. I just found out they opened a new location in Rancho Cucamonga, near where I live. Awesome! Now I can go whenever I crave some good/affordable sushi: D.

Everything’s $ 2 so it makes it a lot easier calculating how much you’ve eaten! No guessing what color the plate is and how much that specific plate is. However, the selection isn’t the greatest nor is it the freshest. The Uni looked goopy(is that even a word?) to me, I got chicken gyoza that was cold, who knows how long that was sitting there… If you order a udon bowl I believe it’s only $ 1 on weekdays, however it’s a very small bowl with just noodles and soup, very plain. Servers are nice and friendly, just the food isn’t the greatest. Also I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel the conveyer belt goes by awfully fast!

Per Jayne L.‘s review: YOU should come here ONLYIF: * If you don’t know a THING about sushi and you are NEW at eating sushi, START here. You won’t be disappointed. * If you don’t care how the sushi chefs cut their fish. * If you don’t mind if some of your sushi are OLD and WARM I completely agree with her. If you have only experienced Todai’s or Chinese buffet sushi’s, this place won’t disappoint. However, if you are used to eating quality sushi, you’ll have a hard time eating at this place. The fish tastes like its been frozen over and over again. Lowest grade fish used. Sushi chefs are mostly young and straight out of culinary school. Lot’s of rolls. Lack variety. Will not be returning.

This sh*t adds up! Not cheap at ALL! Especially for big eaters like me. Cost $ 80 for 4 of us and we weren’t even full. Each plate is sooo tiny. The wasabi was kind of weird too. Now the quality of fish was mediocre at best, and the sushi slices are sooo thin on top of a giant ball of rice. I’m carbed out. Not coming back.

«You get what you pay for. « I KNOW grade A quality sashimi. And I am not just saying that. I know. And this place is not top quality. BUT… If you are not concern with the quality and grade of sashimi you consume, these kind of places will definitely work for you. At $ 2 a plate, I wasn’t expecting much. And so this is probably why I will give them a 3 star review. Service was great. Pleasant. Efficient. And the conveyer was prompt! :) This is my first at visiting a ‘revolving sushi bar.’ Very cool concept. And it was definitely something different. Anyway, back to the food. I had to try my usual suspect of nigiri: Saba, salmon, unagi, yellowtail, ikura, amaebi. They also had your typical crunch roll, salmon skin, spicy salmon, philadelphia roll. And whatever they dont have out there, just ask and they will make it for you. So basically, when you come to Kula, don’t expect much and you will be happy. This is the first time in my life I paid for $ 2/an order. Places I consider serving top quality grade sashimi charges $ 9 to $ 18/an order. Anyway, great place to knock off you sushi craving if you’re in a budget.

«a $ 1 McD value menu OR$ 2 per plate sushi, hmmm?» Yes, one of life’s craziest questions that requires some thought. yah, it’s apple and oranges but hey close enough. :) «they see me sushi rollin’, they hatin’, they see me eatin’ dirty(plate after plate) at KULaaaa» — Chamillionaire reeemiiiiix The BELLY of SALMON in NIGIRIFORM exist here, GETIT, if you are any fan of SALMON and FAT. Its not greasy by any means, but its the smoothest, tastiest sushi IMHO. Granted, not all SUSHI places cut their BELLY the same way(from my observation). #beastmode YELLOWTAILBELLY too! «ohhh, ahhh! me want!» I seriously devoured like 10 plates of these bad boys(salmon belly). Then again I was starving after a mid-afternoon activity at ROUNDONE. I had ANIME eyes(while drooling) as each plate passed by. There were plenty of other fresh items there too, so you can’t really go wrong with your choices here. 2 bucks a POP. GO. GONOW. P. S. I had the clumsiest moment here, WARNING: plates are very slippery if not handled carefully. *sigh*

Boyfriend and I were in the area, trying to decide what to have for dinner, and not feeling like President Thai(though I normally love their food) when we spotted this place. They were running a special, $ 2 a plate, so we thought, why not? The food was decent, certainly not the greatest but not the worst I’ve ever had. The langostine was generously portioned and pretty tasty. Boyfriend loved the uni :) We ordered raspberry iced tea to go with it as we both wanted something sweet and cold(I know, I know, the sugar content!) Pretty much everything comes atop a bite of rice, or even crispy rice(tasty!) and there were generous portions of gyoza to be had as well as little salads and sliced roll pieces. Service was pretty good too, with the nice lady refilling drinks and clearing lids frequently. I have to admit I’m a fan of the revolving bar — I know it’s silly, but it’s fun watching people scramble for a certain plate of something before someone else gets it haha :) When you buy 10 plates, your server will bring round a sort of bingo ball dispenser that you get to spin, and apparently, you can with something like discout coupons, etc. It wasn’t our lucky night, but we’ll likely try again sometime soon! It’s worth checking out for a quick lunch/dinner. Eat up!

So long, crappy Life Plaza, Helloooo Kula Sushi! After trying out the branch in Irvine, I’m so happy that Life Plaza has been replaced with an awesome revolving sushi bar. For $ 2 per plate, this is as good as revolving sushi can get when it comes to quality and price. The best part of about this place? Two words: Salmon Belly. Salmon sushi is delicious in itself, but the salmon belly here takes the cake for its smooth texture and buttery flavor. The seared salmon with mayo I also highly recommend. And if you haven’t had crispy rice before, you must try the spicy salmon on top of crispy rice! Okay, I totally made myself sound like a salmon freak, but hey, even though this place isn’t AYCE, you get your money’s worth by eating your favorite things, because every plate on the conveyer belt is $ 2! That’s right, $ 2! None of that different plate pricing bull crap or mediocre rotating sushi! Whenever I’m feeling like pigging out on sushi, this is one of the first places that pop up in my mind. Other sushi is pretty good too, although you may want to be selective with what you get, as the plates have a tendency to pile up quickly. Most plates come with two pieces, which isn’t really a lot. For special stuff like toro, there’s only one piece. If you have a large appetite, don’t be too surprised when you receive your bill and you realized that you’ve put too many salmon bellies in your belly. This place can get pretty packed during dinnertime, as it is a popular choice to dine and is located in Diamond Plaza. We got there at around 7PM, and there was around a 20 minute wait, which wasn’t too bad compared to the Irvine branch. There is plenty of seating though, and people don’t really linger around for that long since you can get started on your meal as soon as you’re seated.

If you’re eating for $ 2 a plate then what do you expect? I went on a tuesday night with a friend. He hates sushi but oh well, haha I’m a sushi person so if it’s going to be $ 2 a plate then all you can really do is bring down your expectation and deal with it. I got the salmon yukke: Not bad the egg kind of made me a little uneasy with the whole salmon haha but it wasn’t bad! Anago(sea eel): OMG… bomb even though it does only come in 1 piece it was BOMB! definitely better than unagi(freshwater eel) in my opinion. Uni: yes, I’ve had better but … why not hah salmon spring roll: haha it was good I mean I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad spring roll haah Salmon collar: DELICIOUS! meaty and DEFINITELY worth $ 2…OMG even more I’d say! My friend got few rolls and Undon! $ 1UDON! OMG! Can this place actually make money like this? RIDICULOUS! The $ 1 Udon was actually really good for the price! haha I did not read the Unilocal before hand I should’ve tried the salmon belly dang it! The service is very quick and the servers are VERY attentive I don’t know if it’s because it wasn’t as busy that night or if they are always like that! I had no problem with having a full cup of iced green tea. Another thing is they use a different kind of wasabi than the regular sushi restaurants I’ve been to and no I do not believe it’s the fresh wasabi but it’s close and it’s super spicy! haha I wouldn’t mind coming here, it’s cheap and if you’re really into salmon you can have ALL the different parts of salmon here! haha for the price the service and the food made me happy and the location is perfect you can end your meal and walk a little to gengki or to tenren for dessert! Worth a try $ 1 Udon on weekdays! :) I guess go before they end this promo! hah Side note: If people are wondering this place is run by a japanese person and they were actually featured in Japan UP! magazine for the month on January! :) so basically they know what they are doing!

One of two kai ten sushi bars in the area. This new restaurant has taken over the old Life Plaza store. They do have a lot of unusual dishes such as salmon spring rolls, in addition to the usual ones. The turnover of the dishes seemed pretty frequent, but then again the place was packed due to its recent opening. The thickness of the fish were just average or slightly below. The flavor was average nothing spectacular. The biggest plusses were the prices and the freshly grated wasabi. Each plate is only two dollars, not sure if that is a grand opening special or if those prices are permanent. The freshly grated wasabi is super spicey, but the green paste hands down, not sure how long that will last either. Overall not a horrible place for a quick bite if you are craving sushi.
