I had the worst, no taste kimchi fried rice there. it was lunch special and there was no fried egg on the top(it was $ 8.99, with no egg. really?) it tasted bland. no taste at all. it was so red, looked spicy and yummy but I wonder how it can taste so bad. service was bad. I guess that’s what happens when they know there aren’t that many Korean restaurant around.

I have lived in Rowland height all my life, and I have drove by this restaurant and disregarded it for decades. One day my Korean friend decided to take me there. OMG this is the best Korean food I’ve ever tasted. I regretted never going there sooner. Try the short ribs

Lack of customer service Food taste really bad: Big time over cooked on the pork cutlet. Won’t take order at 9:20pm ish when they claim they are closed at 10pm. I really don’t want to be mean and give 1 star, but i couldn’t find any reason not to give the lowest rating. Sorry Korean Garden, but your restaurant really need to improve a lot due to the competition around your area.

I wasn’t really feeling Korean food because it was like 100 degrees outside and soup is my Korean food go-to, but my dad kept insisting so we randomly found Korean Garden. And of course I got… soup! To be fair, I was debating between the dolsot bibimbap and the dumpling and rice cake soup, but I decided to go with the soup because I wanted to try something new. It was actually really good with lots of rice cakes, about 4 large dumplings and some shredded beef and egg in a clear broth. I definitely want to eat this again on a cold day, or if I’m sick. My dad had the spicy beef and bean sprouts soup and the waitress aid they could make it less spicy, but it was still very spicy! I’m not sure if they forgot to make it less spicy or if that was less spicy to them, but either way it was still really spicy. I also tried some of my mom’s omurice(omelette rice) and it was okay. I’m not a big fan of ketchup and the fried rice inside is basically ketchup rice. The sauce on top was good though. I think Korean Garden is A-OK. I agree that they do have a pub-like vibe. I noticed quite a few groups of guys who looked like they were stopping by after playing golf. But I do like that they have different things than a tofu or BBQ restaurant and I am curious about that fried chicken…

Wow. This place is pretty bad. I mean minus the old building and stinky carpet and old interior, the food portion in general is really really small. I was in the area and craved for some Korean bar style fried chicken and spicy pork belly stir fry. The size of chicken is seriously a quail. I can literally pick my tooth with its wing bone. Skin is crispy but the tiny breast is super dry, please refer to my photo. I can tell it is not even fresh because the meat is yellow and crumbly. The frozen octopus is sooooooo overcooked to a rubber texture. The thin pork belly slices were only three slaps in total, the rest stuff is onions, green onions, jalapeños, garlic pieces, and this crappy greasy burnt dish cost $ 17!!! All banchans looked terribly unappetizing, I didn’t even bother to try them at all. The funny thing is my waitress kept asking me if I want any rice or miso soup, I said no a few times but she just brought bowls of miso and told me «things look dry, have some soup.» I wonder if she thought the portion of their food wasn’t enough so she wanted to offer some fillers. I didn’t even touched the miso, it looked unappetizing as well. Well, this place is just for beer drinking old korean folks who don’t have a serious appetite like myself…

I’ve been coming here since I was a child so that’s a definite bias but I can’t imagine my hometown without this place in it. The whole chicken is perfectly crispy and the soojaebee is my go-to, way chewier than at other places and I love that! Sure, the interior isn’t what it used to be but the atmosphere is still very homey. Very sweet ladies running the place as well.

We found a Korean diner in Rowland Heights! Tonight we didn’t crave for anything so I figured we should put our trust in Unilocal and see what still opens. Yay! The food is homey and considered Korean comfort food. The décor inside would bring you back in time, especially when they have music from the 90s blasting. The lady helped us was super nice, she recommended spicy beef and bean sprouts noodles for me, slave girl went for omelette rice and I added a seafood pancake to it. Truly we didn’t need the seafood pancake, but it wouldn’t feel completed without it. My noodles was really sad. I don’t know how Koreans do it, but my dish came with just 3 index finger width/length shredded beef, very little glass noodles(one and half mouthful at max), and tons of bean sprouts and some eggs. If you order a phở, you would at least get a bow of noodles. My dish was mostly soup, lots of soup. Flavor was OK but this dish wasn’t $ 9 worth and 100% false advertising with the picture on the menu. Slave girl’s omelette rice was not bad, a little too sweet for me. It’s basically ketchup rice wrapped inside omelette. I like Japanese style better, especially when they use diced ham in it. Tonight, it was only rice with nothing else, sad face. Seafood pancake came last. It was dry and not a lot of flavors to it. It’s a shame because I even saw oysters in it but it just wasn’t that good. In the future if I want Korean food, I will just go to that one place in Walnut, way better food. Ask me if you care. As far for this place, well, I was served what was recommended and improvement definitely needed.

I went in expecting a traditional Korean hwar meal, sadly this was not to be. The panchan was mediocre at best and the food, although edible lacked flavor and seasoning. Disregarding the pot stickers and fried rice, none of which that I can remember, were ever offered to me in other Korean Restaurants, the most glaring thing for me, was being asked if chopped sticks were ok for me. I may be a caucasian person, the last letters in that«profile» is ASIAN! I grew up in Hawaii. I will never go back here, EVER.

I don’t know why I have never been here before — it’s outstanding! Sure, the interior looks like an outdated Italian restaurant from the 1970s and it’s not the most romantic spot, but as long as they keep making good food, this is what one would call a «hole-in-the-wall» gem. I must admit, I have a bias against restaurants with large menus. It’s a prejudice, I know, but when I open a menu and see«items overload», I’m immediately asking myself, «What are their best dishes, and which ones are the bad ones?» It’s a matter of efficiency. Well, Korean Garden, you have proven me wrong! My friends and I dropped by after a long, bumper-to-bumper, 5 hour drive home from Vegas. After a couple days of eating steaks, buffets, and all-American breakfasts, I was craving some comfort food — korean-style. Our table of famished Koreans had at the menu: Dduk bokki Bibimbap Soy Braised Cod Fish with Radish(eun daegu jorim) Al tang(fish egg casserole) Bulgogi Su je bi(hand pulled noodle soup) Dwen jang jjigae Neng myun Bibim neng myun My favorite? Al tang. So very delicious and it really hit the spot. Despite their lengthy menu, the table of delicious food we ordered were all pretty good or even excellent. If you or your hungry friends are in the mood for Korean, they have something for everyone in your group — and it will taste good too. Even now, I’m craving the Al Tang. Excited to go back!

I came here with my Korean buddy. Since I was doing the picking he had no choice. I wanted something new and non KBBQ. I wanted something with good ratings and something southern comforting feel and so we landed here. It was southern comfort food where the next tables were filled with mom and pops and grandmas and grand pops. Even the tables and the whole feeling was comfort foods. Since it was the two of us my buddy did the ordering and we got the Pollack egg soup with I’ve never had so it was new to me. It was super spicy but very tasty. It had all kinds of items inside the soup but I just liked the broth. The pork belly squid dinner was our 2nd item. I enjoyed that dish with all the sides that came with our meal. I’d pile up meat and squid on my leafy veggies and chomped on that it was all gone. We left full and happy.

This time around I ordered the Kimchi fried rice and liked it. As usual it came with the korean side dishes which I always enjoy eating. The potato one is starting to become my favorite along with the miso soup they give in the beginning. When I first brought the fried rice to the table I noted they had sprinkled dried seaweed on top of the fried rice. The combination of the steam of fresh rice and seaweed made the aroma of dry seaweed smell waft up in to the air above the dish as bits of seaweed crinkled up from the moisture. It smelled great, making me take the moment to snap a pic on my phone before eating. I think it was more of a garnish than anything though because I could hardly taste the seawed itself while eating the rice. Overall though, I really enjoyed thish dish.

Yum! I love their fried chicken. They’re cute and tiny but crispy and always served hot and fresh! I usually order one with some other carby dish like their kimchi fried rice(on point!) or ddukbokki(pretty decent). I think their bibimguksu is average — nothing special. A meal like this will leave me pretty stuffed if I finish it. I like coming here with a few others so we order more dishes. They also have this squid ring stir fry dish that is quite the winner, but the order is quite large so just be prepared if you’re not super into squid haha. :) Enjoy!!! It’s a really chill environment.

This restaurant is more inclined to be a pub, but the Korean Garden serves as both. I don’t think the food here is terrible, but most of the dishes aren’t jaw droppingly delicious. They’re just simply OK for the price. We ordered the Whole Friend Chicken and the Rice Cake & Dumpling Soup. You have to be really unskilled in the culinary arts to mess this stuff up, as they’re very common in most Korean restaurants. The chicken had an off color, with some parts feeling undercooked. The soup had more rice cake than anything, with less broth than I would normally like. Not bad on both counts, but I was extremely famished after a rough workout at the gym. I would assume that almost anything would taste great for my nutrient deprived body. OMURICE Otherwise known as Omelette Rice, it’s a Western influenced style of Japanese cuisine. It consists of an omelette made with fried rice and veggies, usually topped with ketchup or demi-glacé(brown sauce). It’s quite popular and something I always enjoy from time to time. Korean Garden’s version is not bad. Although, I did take Frank S.‘s advice and ask for extra brown sauce, which really made the rice more pleasurable. Good looking out homie. Probably, is the main reason I gave 3 stars. As for the service, it seems to be a one server operation — slow and erratic at best. I heard the waitress say something underneath her breath about the drunk customers sitting next to us. I don’t blame her, cause they were being belligerent. Still, it’s bad to get a reaction like that from someone who represents the business. Knowing that the place attracts the much older Korean crowd, you would assume that the people working and frequenting here would know what to expect. Coming for the Lunch Specials(Mon to Fri — 10:30am to 2:30pm) would make you feel frugal. But, with so many options nearby on Colima Road, I’d be stupid to not partake in the variety that surrounds this area. I’d come back, but I’m not in any rush. I always come here when I’m craving some hot, Korean food. Items I get: 1.) Omelette Rice 5⁄5 *highly recommend* 2.) Kimchi Fried Rice 4⁄5 3.) Tongkatsu 2.5÷5 I always get take out, but they package everything really nicely within organized boxes. I love that they give you your side dishes in a separate container and overall give you a carry box-tray. Also, their food comes out fast! I recommend their omelette rice! Their prices are a bit high, but the quantity is pretty satisfying.

i have a love/hate relationship with this place. their food is actually pretty good(depends on what you order), but their service is super slow. then again, sometimes, the service is great. i suppose it really depends… when you go and who serves you. if you have a lot of time in your hands and don’t mind waiting for food, i guess this place isn’t that bad. note: this is like an ajumma/ajusshi hang out place after they play golf. they will be loud, so if little things like this bother you, don’t bother coming. just saying.

Omelette rice 7.99 lunch — ketchup fried rice rolled into an egg omelette and topped with tonkatsu sauce. Easy comfort dish. What makes it is the kimchee on the side. Also comes with a miso soup. Average.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a couple of years now and I have nothing to complain about. I’m dropping in on this place since I started working in the Rowland Heights office. I was looking for a good Korean comfort food place like I had Jang Soo Jang in Cerritos. Well, it’s not quite the same, since JSJ also had KBBQ grills right on the table, but the food and the flavors are similar. Their food has been very consistent and cooked with health consciousness. I love that! Most places just dump salt and MSG like crazy, but they do things right. The side dishes are seasoned just right! The dishes I’ve ordered have always been right on the spot. Why the 4 stars, you ask? I actually have them at four and a half stars. I knocked off a half point for the physical structure needing a bit of upgrade and maintenance which is not bad at all. FRIENDLY, EFFICIENTSTAFF! EXCELLENT, HEALTHCONSCIOUSKOREANCOMFORTFOOD!
