Wudi Kebob is an interesting Chinese Korean fusion restaurant that mainly specializes in kebobs, yet also offers a variety of side dishes such as spicy beef tendon, spicy potato, spicy cucumber, etc. as well as main dishes like pan fired buns, dumplings, and cold noodle. However, it definitely seems like most people go to this restaurant to eat the kebobs. The restaurant is located in a pretty big plaza on Colima Road, so parking will not be an issue. Lights are pretty dim, with lots of booths that have the individual grilling stations on top. There are actually more tables around the corner as well. I’m not a big fan of the whole ordering by the plate, especially since each plate is priced around $ 4. I’d much prefer a set AYCE price. For our party of four, we ended up ordering a variety of meats including the 10 piece lamb kebob, 10 piece beef kebob, chicken liver, quail egg(although it seemed like they gave us scallops instead), pork belly wrapped kimchi, fish balls, mushroom, and fried okra. Although it sounds like a lot of food, each skewer only has a few pieces on it, so we ended up eating maybe 2 pieces of each item. Out of all the items we tried, the pork belly wrapped kimchi and beef kebobs were the items I liked best. Pork belly is almost always good, and having it wrapped in kimchi — the flavors were really good, the pork was juice. You could see the oil dripping down from the skewer. The beef kebob was mixed in their spices before being put on the grill. Very flavorful and tender, although I could not get the flavor of the spice out of my mouth for an entire day. The other items were just okay. I’m not a big lamb fan, but I have to admit that their spices did make the meat taste pretty good. Chicken liver was not too bad, albeit a little dry. Scallops, fried okra, mushroom, and fish balls were just okay. Nothing special. The service at this restaurant is definitely less than desirable. We sat there for twenty minutes trying to flag down a worker to take our order. When we asked for recommendations, the worker was really blasé, so it was like we didn’t ask her the question at all. I did find it pretty nice that they help you roast the skewers, standing by your table tossing and turning the meat for several minutes before letting the self-rotating machine do the work. Side dishes were meh — pickled radishes, picked cabbage, kimchi, etc. You can get refills on side dishes, which is nice. I do like that they give you barley tea, a good addition to the grilled kebabs. They also provide some sort of green tea ice cream at the end of the meal, almost like a palate cleanser. tl;dr — Overall, I thought it was a pretty good meal for a kebob place. Price point wasn’t too expensive, although all four of us left feeling as if we could eat … a lot more. I like that the meat is seasoned well. I don’t think I’d be too interested in returning unless I had to return for a birthday meal or something.

This is like Korean BBQ, but Kebob style. It’s not all you can eat. The portions are a bit small, but if you get two 10 pc items for the most part it fills you up. Service is pretty good, the people are friendly and helpful. The spicy lamb is amazing! Chicken and Spicy Beef are great as well. Try not to cook it too long because the meat will dry out. No body likes dry meat. Chicken Heart taste pretty good. Like a mini egg. They have bull dick and some other weird stuff to try out. Take a chance and try something different. I’m not for the dick, so I went for the hearts. It was good. I believe its consider to be charbroiled type cooking. It gets smoky pretty fast, so watch the air direction when you sit down, don’t get stuck in that seat. Check out the video for more visuals and to learn how it all works.

I really enjoy coming to wudi. The service is good and they even help cooking those lamb kebobs that i eat way too many of every time. Good food, beer/soju, and a nice atmosphere too have a good time with friends. I enjoy the soondae and the cold noodles to help cool my down after all the other good food.

This is my second time coming here of many more to come. First time there was an incident of our grill and the server apologize and gave us some of her tip money in which she didn’t have to. She was so sweet, and I could tell how sincere she was. Very nice customer service. Then the second time the manager was helping us and was really nice too. I really really recommend the lamb skewers. They are my fav! If there was one item I could get it would be the Lamb skewers ALLDAYERRDAYY!!! My recommendations: Lamb skewers Mushroom Squid Oh and come during happy hour M-THUR(OPEN-4:30) some kebabs are 1 $ each for a minimum of 10 purchase!

I was excited to try this place but it came up well short of my expectations. Maybe it’s because I didn’t know what I was getting myself into since I admittedly based my expectations strictly off seeing kebob, barbeque, and 4-stars on Unilocal. So the food itself is actually okay. We ordered the lamb, spicy lamb, beef, and chicken kebabs, along with the chicken wing, pork belly, potato, and cold noodles. Though the kebabs tasted fine, I thought the best part was the dry seasoning/spice they give you to dip your kebabs with. The biggest drawback though is the value. Simply put, I don’t think there is any. The meat isn’t of great enough quality to justify the prices and the portions are small. I probably need to eat $ 50 worth to fill myself up and I just can’t see myself eating $ 50 worth of slightly above-average-quality kebabs. Also, the potato that I ordered is literally two skewers of 3 chips for 2 bucks. I’d rather smash an entire bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos at that price. Though we didn’t order it, half a cob of corn cost $ 2.50. It’s basically the same 5 for $ 1 corn that you can get at your local grocery store. Service was sub-par, though not terrible. We went with a decent size party which required 3 tables. The server would start on one end of the table, make her way to the second table, and somehow just forget to help the third table. Every single time. They were good at filling our requests though, so that was a plus. I was excited to try something new, and although this was certainly a different experience for me, I probably won’t be back any time soon; especially if I’m looking for a filling meal.

Meat! Beer! FIRE!!! This place is pretty awesome if you know what to order and it’s decently priced. I definitely recommend the spicy lamb skewers(better than the beef ones). Also recommend the pork belly/enoki mushroom skewers(1 order comes with 3 pieces) and the cold noodle(soup). Would not recommend: dry tofu wrapped cilantro(cilantro just gets burnt and the whole thing is just very cilantro-y), beef back strap(very very tough), beef tongue(comes in chunks — very chewy), bull penis(only good for the novelty, otherwise very chewy). You’ve been warned! Service is good and your orders are pretty quick to come out, but the last time I was here, my table had to wait over an hour for the cold noodle even though it was the first thing we ordered. Also, the servers help you grill your skewers without asking. I personally like handling it myself — it feels pretty awkward trying to eat and chat with your group while someone is just standing there tapping the skewers back and forth over the fire. I tried telling the lady that she was not needed but she insisted on being there. The coolest part — there is a rack that moves back and forth over the fire so it’ll rotate your skewer by itself!

Ate here last week, after a friend had told me he discovered another place similar to Feng Mao in Ktown. Loving Feng Mao, I had to come to Wudi. And all I can say is it exceeded my expectations! Delicious. Quite outstanding all around. From menu, to service, to quality of food, overall great experience. Service is attentive. Not so much on refilling beverages or offering us more drinks, but they’re extremely amazing at cooking the kebabs from start to finish. And cooked to perfection. All of their recommendations were spot on. The menu was quite extensive and had a lot to offer, but being a lamb fan, the lamb was of nice quality. Also, their other meat and vegetable options were fantastic. Clean facility and not overly smoky, which one would expect from this kind of restaurant. Serena, our server was fantastic, and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Definitely will be back soon!

My first impression was, «They have charcoal grills here, must try.» Not very many places use fresh charcoals for table side grills probably because it’s more work than electric or gas grilling options, so this was a must try for me. Wudi Kebob serves up Chinese-Korean skewers that are grilled at your table and the focus is on the kabobs with minimal dressing, sauces, and sides. They are most known for the lamb kabobs which were marinated and once it was charred and grilled it was delicious. My other favorites were the spicy squid, corn on the cob, the shisamo(my fave), and whole garlic(perfect side). The tip is to make sure everything is grilled very well and charred to get the fullest flavor. There is chili powder to dip your kabobs in which add a nice mild smoky flavor. We ordered 10 kabobs per person but ended up getting more of our favorites because it was so good. For the bold and daring, there are other meat choices like the chicken gizzard, chicken heart, bull penis(yes, for real) and pork tongue, etc. that are also nice in the mix(of course we tried them all). The lasting impression? «Awesome spot for grilled skewers and beer, fun happy hour menu $ 1 kabobs Monday-Friday 11:30am-4:30pm!»

This place is really good! I liked their food and service. My gf and I went in at around 10pm and waited like 5 minutes. Not too bad for a Friday. We got 5pc beef, 5pc lamb, 4pc beef tongue, 2pc chicken gizzards, 1pc corn, 2pc mushroom, warm noodle, cold noodle, and a botte of Tsingtao, and the bill came out to $ 60! Not bad! We were really full after finishing all that food! Definitely a place to come back! Recommended but be ready for the smoke and the smell.

The Kebobs are really Yummy. I do recommend the lamb kebobs, as they are fattier than beef thus retain more moisture/flavor and is overall less dry. The lamb was coated with a flavorful chile rub, which had a mild to medium kick to it. There is quite a selection of kebobs you can choose from, such as pork belly, chicken soft bone, chicken heart, fish, squid, corn, leek, mushrooms, and etc. The service was great. They do come from table to table to help assist in cooking the kebobs. They gave us a few pointers about the timing, the technique, and which meats are more likely to char. Which was great for us, since we were first timers. The only almost deal breaker complaint I have, is how smokey it gets inside the restaurant. When you have 12+ grills going, it gets EXTREMELY Smokey inside. To the point where it is uncomfortable and almost hard to breathe. They do have overhead vents, but it definitely is not working properly. They should really look into getting this problem fixed. If regardless of the smoke, and you would still like to try this place out. I recommend you leave your purse, or anything that you don’t want stained with the scent of BBQ in the car or at home.

Wudi Kebob is a refreshing addition to the plethora of restaurants that are already in the area. If you’re looking for a cool new place to try or to get together with friends and drink, then consider Wudi Kebob. They provide a fun and novel way to enjoy kebabs that are cooked fresh on your table’s rotating grill. They have an extensive menu of grill options as well as side dishes and entrees. My boyfriend and I tried a little bit of every meat option and everything was very flavorful. My favorites were the spicy lamb and chicken. The seasoning is just like the Xinjiang lamb kebabs, for which the defining flavors are chili powder and cumin. I love it! I also tried the warm noodles, which was a good and simple spicy noodle soup. My only gripe about my meal here is that the complimentary side dishes were way too salty. They did not pair well with the already well-seasoned kebabs. You may feel like the kebabs are over-seasoned, but they’re made to pair with alcohol, hence the stronger flavors. Great new addition to the area. I recommend! Just be wary that this place is small and there may be a wait.

Yaaaaas 4.5 stars, but I’m bumping it up for friendly service and much help with the cooking! I’ve never done a DIY skewer joint before, and this place was great – I thought I’d come out crazy smoky as you can smell the coals right upon entering, but we came out not too smelly, which is good! The employees all helped explain how to cook the skewers, adjusted heat as necessary, and even cooked for us and told us when the meats were done! All the skewers we got were delicious – my fave being the beef and the bf’s the lamb. The pork belly with enoki was another delicious skewer that stood out, as did the dry tofu with cilantro(bf loved this one – ultra flavorful). If you don’t like an excess of cumin and chili though, then this may not be for you. I, on the other hand, looooooove it! What dropped it down a few stars were actually the cooked items. Side dishes were okay, but were too salty. The soondae(I had to try it; I love that stuff) was over steamed with a REALLY strange, gummy texture, and didn’t taste like soondae at all. Even the dip was a soy sauce dip, similar or the same to the Taiwanese soy sauce you dip with I dunno, dumplings or something. It was also pricier than the usual Korean soondae joints for that dish. I’ll still say this was overall a 5 star experience, as the bf and I came out very happy and satisfied with our meal. Plus, this place opens til 1am! We always end up eating late, so this will definitely be a joint we shall be frequenting often!

Finally got to try this place with my boyfriend! It was our first time coming in, so we asked the server how everything works and for her recommendations about what to order. We ended up ordering the lamb, beef, beef tongue, chicken gizzards, sausage, kimchi wrapped pork belly and Chinese chives wrapped pork belly. I liked the beef kebob and beef tongue the most out of all of them because of the texture and flavor of the meat. My boyfriend and I were quite full after our meal too, it didn’t seem like a lot at first but it does fill you up! Plus rice(no charge) and all their sides(which I also enjoyed). They don’t have dipping sauces here; instead they have different chili powders to dip your meat with. I’m a sauce kind of person so I wish there was a some kind of sauce I could dip the meat with! Service was okay! I wish our server helped us a bit more because it was our first time and we weren’t sure how long to cook our meats or whether or not to put the meat on the top row or bottom but we ended up figuring it out on our own. Overall, I’d come back again! I think it would be a good type of food to eat while drinking :)

Identity crisis: CHECK Live fire pit: CHECK Bull Penis: DOUBLECHECK Sounds like someones ultra creepy adult fantasy, however it is a foodie reality in Rowland Heights! This place is not set on a specific cuisines although the North African roots are strongly referenced(spices, live rotating«spit», lamb) mixed with some KBBQ flavor, banchan and marinades. Truly an epic concept, and they serve BOOZE ! Go figure. The gimicky bull penis was very tasty suprisngly. Once it sat after being roasted, it took on a crispy tendony texture that resembled a deep fried tripe. A absolute must try! Another must try is the bun, basically a dough covered with oil that is cooked over the fire pit to turn into a crunchy and savory bread ball. This place has huge potential and I absolutely advise anyone interested in BBQ or meat –centric cuisine to try this place, worth the drive from anywhere in SOCAL! I can’t wait to return! Props to all proprietors of this business for bringing the concept to a fully functioning, spacious, and FUN environment!

My girlfriends really like this place and come here somewhat regularly however Pinky and I have to agree to disagree. Their potato pancakes were tasty and we both enjoyed this dish, but honestly it’s pretty hard to mess this dish up since it’s pretty simple to make. Service was good and their rotating grill was really cool. Meat quality was what turned us off from this place. Dinky meats that were mostly fat. It’s as if they went down the street to Greenland market and bought their meat from there. And I must add, I effing hate Greenland and the other Korean market in Rowland Heights. After our meal I felt so disgusted and almost dirty from ingesting such low quality meat. Pinky’s dad ate our leftover lamb rib and told us he almost threw up because the smell and taste were so gross. Best thing we had was the kimchi pork belly and that’s honestly nothing to write home about. The very basic side dishes are pretty tasty to me, when I went we got seaweed salad and 2 kimchi/slaw like dishes that tasted identical, but looked different. Their complimentary salad was yummy too, but besides that their meat was just a thumbs down for us. Ambiance was depressing which added to the depressing meal we had. Won’t be back.

Korean kebob, cooked at the table, lots of seafood and veggies in addition to all sorts of meats, very interesting eats! Unilocaled this place while driving around, it opened about 3 months ago. The food is more like drinking food, also limited choices of fillers like noodles, dumplings and pancake. I liked the cold side dish selections, will definitely order some next time. We had a very nice spread of kebobs. Beef, chicken hearts and gizzards, mushrooms, Chinese chives, jumbo shrimps, smelt fish and quail eggs. Our waitress cooked everything for us properly, the kebobs were perfect for the Soju and Hite beer we were having, very comforting and relaxing. We had spicy hot noodle soup and potato pancake later on, they were very delicious too. The portions were perfect and prices were fair, I think I like this much better than Korean BBQ cause they have a lot more seafood and veggies to order! Well, we will frequent this place for sure!

The concept of this place is pretty novel. BBQ skewers over an automated charcoal grill. You put your skewer on the grill and the grill will just keep rotating it for you until you want it off the grill. They have this side dish that’s absolutely delicious: cucumbers with fungus(some kind of mushroom or fungus. I can’t remember the English name for it). As for the meat, I don’t really recommend getting the chicken. It’s too plain. Get the lamb skewers. Now that’s worth the money. The lamb skewers I got were consistently tender. And if you’re adventurous, they have beef pen*s. A friend was hella curious about it so we decided to order to try it out. Yes, I ate pen*s — a beef pen*s. And I didn’t really like it. Haha. At first, it tastes like you’re eating tendon. That’s until you chew on and get this weird bitter and rubbery taste. Is that what pen*s tastes like??? As for prices, it’s pretty affordable for skewers. It’s like a Chinese-Korean skewer BBQ place. From what I heard, the owners and employees are ethnic Chinese from Korea. Would I come back? Yes, I would, but I won’t be ordering the beef pen*s again.

The concept of this place is pretty cool. You order whatever kebabs you like and they’ll bring it out for you and set them up on the grill. The grill contraption is pretty awesome because it rotates the meat for you so you don’t really have to do anything but wait for the meat to cook. However, sometimes the fire isn’t consistent so some kebabs will cook(and burn) faster than others. One tip is to not come here when you’re starving because the meat does take some time to cook. The major downside on our visit was that we were served under cooked dumplings(even though it took them almost 20 minutes to bring them out!!). When we brought it to the server’s attention she didn’t seem very apologetic. And when she brought out a new plate of cooked dumplings she gave us fewer pieces – wahhh? My fiancé ended up getting a stomachache afterwards. We had a party of 9 and the bill came out to be about $ 18 per person. Kind of pricey considering how we had to wait forever for our food to cook and I didn’t leave with that satisfying«full» feeling.
