Below average Vietnamese food. Nothing is bad, but everything is just a little off. Random complaint, the Thai tea is made with hazelnut creamer… which is wrong on so many levels. It doesn’t quite meet the standard Vietnamese restaurant standard. Given it is the only one in this area, I’m guessing most guests won’t know any better.

Best phở place in the Rowlett/Rockwall/Garland area! Delicious and has yogurt next door for dessert!

The food is fantastic, I love Vietnamese food and this might be the best I’ve had. So fresh, clean and authentic. Can’t wait to come back!

As many have stated, this place is nothing to write home about, unless it is to thank mom for her faithful service at dinner time, which was greatly missed here. I don’t know where anyone gets the idea this is oriental ran. We only saw two(2) people working, and they were definitely not oriental, and we were told that our waitress was the daughter of the chef-owner(the other woman working that day). I mean they did not look oriental with their blond hair and blue eyes, but what do I know. They also did not live to serve as most Vietnamese restaurant owners do. It took some time to get our water, and the girl was antsy when we asked about menu items. We settled on Spring Rolls, Banh Mi, and a bowl of Phở to share(Beef with tendons– my husband’s choice– I picked around them). The Peanut sauce was too oily for my taste, and the Spring Rolls did not hold together well at all. One reason I prefer eggrolls. The Banh Mi was okay, but the lack of flavor in the sauce and two(2) slices of jalapeño for the soup and the sandwich together made me want to start making the sandwiches myself so I could control the dressing and vegetables on the sandwich. The soup was not great, but it was good. I have had better Phở, but I have also had worse, so a star for fairness in the soup making game, not necessarily quality. I found it odd that this place was so empty, being they make Vietnamese soups and sandwiches, which are very popular just a town away. When Saigon Kitchen closed, I cried for weeks. Maybe months. Could have been a year, even. Yes, I was that broken up. So, when we found Phở Twins, we thought we had struck gold again. Not quite. That’s in Downtown Dallas.(At Phở Colonial). I guess that’s where we must trek for delicious Phở unless I make it at home. My Banh Mi’s are the best my family says they’ve had(and not because I make them– they tell me when I’m the bomb, or I have bombed!), but I cannot wait for the time it takes to make great phở, so we go out for it.(sigh) There was construction, but the doors were open, and no one was keeping the crowds out. After reading other reviews and receiving the mediocre service we got, I would say it was not the construction keeping business to a minimum.

I love this place. I think the phở, bhan mi, and yogurt are great. I have never been disappointed with the food. I think this place is one of Rowletts diamonds in the rough. The only thing that I think its lacking is that customer service could be better. I wish the servers knew the menu better, and that they served bigger lemon slices for water. But that’s just me knit picking. If you ate hungry for phở give them a try!

I’m sorry to have to write this review, because there are no phở restaurants in Rowlett and I was initially excited to have one close by. The food is decent, although the portions are a bit small compared to other phở restaurants in the area. But this place has the worst customer service I’ve experienced at a phở place in a long time. I’m very used to Asian restos. I’ve been here several times and every time, no matter the server, they forget things we’ve ordered or give us the wrong drink. We watched one girl write everything down on a notepad and then promptly proceed to mess up our order. We wanted to sub a small dish of phở broth for nuoc mam. There server said it was fine, then another guy came out to say sorry, they can’t sub because the broth is an extra $ 2. Ok, well that wasn’t explained to us initially. They seem understaffed. One server working an entire restaurant is just ridic. I’ll just suck it up and drive to Garland or Richardson for phở.

Phở is okay. It’s missing that depth in flavor. It tastes a bit bland without the extra ingredients(siracha and hosin sauce) but for a phở place in Rowlett, Tx it’s not anything special. Rice is pretty decent. It is usually my go too. The marination on the meat was better than what I thought it would be. All the rice plates come with egg drop soup. Services is really spotty. Sometimes the servers are quick pace and gives you the attention like they should and other times they’re the only server there with with only three tables that come in about 15 mins apart but no attention what so ever. The cooks is sometimes they’re really quick in preparing the food, and other times I waited for 30 mins with no updates from the server and I am the only one there.

Besides homemade, it is the best tasting phở broth I’ve had. Staff was extremely nice, good music and we enjoyed the free samples of Fro-Yo given to us at the end. Only downside is that we are meat eaters and the Phở lacked beef. Back to the broth,…it was just that good. 5 stars

I have eaten here before and enjoyed the food and the service was good. However, today when I went in for a quick to go order I had a different experience. For one, there weren’t many choices in yogurt/toppings and no coconut or leche yogurt which are my favorites. The food took a little while… about 15 minutes. I had asked for the strong fish sauce in a little container to go with my vermicelli and when the girl brought it out there was very little in the cup. When I asked for more(which I always get waaaay more than that there and elsewhere) they told me it would be $ 1.50 for more. Ridiculous! Fish sauce is a must when eating Vietnamese and is usually on the table to be used as much as needed. I found that crazy and decided I won’t be going back if my happiness(i.e. Extra fish sauce!) doesn’t matter.

Bad service(they were short-staffed) but the food didn’t make up for it, very bland. The yogurt was not cold enough, runny yogurt is not ideal. Please don’t let me this be your gauge for what Vietnamese food taste like, let Unilocal guide your search.

I have given this place many tries. From their yogurt, to their food, to their service, it’s always been a miss for me. Let’s start from the top. One star for being so close to me that I can walk there. They are conveniently located in a shopping center off of a main street. No stars for the fact that their delivery policy is a bunch of bull honky. $ 7.62 to deliver PLUS20% of your total order amount as a delivery charge? That is incredibly inappropriate. Why even offer delivery at all?! No stars for the fact that you can literally order online for them from THREE different places and all three places have different prices listed. Not including the differing price on their actual menu. No cohesion. No stars for the phone service we get. The girl who answers almost always sounds confused. For example, I had asked her what sodas she had available. She rattled off a few and then said Pepsi and diet Pepsi so I said that I wanted the diet Pepsi. She then replied with«we don’t carry that». Um, okay? But you just… and all I wanted was… Okay never mind. Repeating our order back was all sorts of painful and they always, always, always, get something wrong. No star for their yogurt section. Every single time I have been in there, at least half of the machines are out of service and the other half come out odd tasting or icy. I have had many frozen yogurts in my life and this is by far, the absolute worst. Don’t even let me get into their stale toppings. So now, let’s get into the food. Their Phở is sub part at best. The broth could be hotter, the meat could be more tender, the flavors could be stronger and more fragrant. I’ll stick with Phở Garden in Rockwall or go to little Vietnam in Garland or something(truthfully, I’m not entirely sure where it is but I know I get there most days)! I ordered a Vietnamese roasted chicken dish and got something that is a sad excuse for dinner. As mentioned above, there’s always a mistake or something left out. This offense covers both as it was the wrong dish and definitely not roasted chicken. I don’t know what it was but it was sad. Like, it made my heart hurt looking at it. First of all, it was a saucy mess with soggy vegetables or any given variety and weirdly textured chicken. So within it all, I found a packet of soy sauce haphazardly thrown in with the food and a little cup of chili sauce. Okay, I’m no prude but listen. It’s a sauce dish… think beef and broccoli. I do not know why the soy sauce was in there but really, I don’t know how many people have touched that packet that is now SWIMMINGAROUND in the sauce of my food. Same goes with the cup of chili sauce. Who has touched these? Why are they in there? What is happening? I took a bite and it was not good so I just took it as a loss. I’ll post a picture. I have to say, I haven’t laid into a restaurant like this in a long time. Perhaps, ever. I don’t understand how it got such great reviews. I’m convinced the others may not have ever had really good Vietnamese food or maybe I am just unlucky. I’m not a picky eater. In fact, I’ll eat just about anything(my gut can attest to that). So, needless to say, we won’t be back.

I always wanted to try restaurant phở and thought I’d give this place a try. It is close to the house and the ratings were decent. I must say I was a little disappointed. The food was just okay. Every thing tasted good but not real good. When I bite into something I want to immediately say«wow, this is really good». Now to be fair I’ve never had phở out before, I have made it at home and it was really good. The key is to have an amazing broth. I also ordered the Vietnamese sandwich. The meat had good flavor but there was just not enough for the size of the bread. The pickled veggies that go on top were skimpy too and lacked flavor. The first time I ever had a Vietnamese sandwich was from the Nammi food truck. That was amazing. This sandwich was not. The best thing I ordered was the grilled chicken spring roll. It was very good because the chicken was good. Would I come back. Probably not before I track down the Nammi truck!

I had never even seen t his place even though I drive by it at least 1 time a week. Someone on a Facebook page said they had a great yogurt bar so I went to try that out. For the record, their yogurt bar left a lot to be desired. Very few flavor choices and the topping choices came right out of a cheap Chinese buffet. The food smelled okay but I will never go there because when I came in no one greeted me or asked if they could help me… they just stood there and looked at me from behind the counter. When I brought my yogurt to the counter to pay the only thing that came out of the girl’s mouth was the price of the yogurt. No «thank you come back» «have a good day» «can I help you with anything’. I expect more from a restaurant if they want my business.

Ate here yesterday night. The phở was good, but it wasn’t the best phở I have ever eaten. Though the service leaves little to be desired. We got there around 8pm and we were seated by a family that looked pretty unhappy. I suspect they had been there for a while and hadn’t gotten there water yet! The waiter took our drink order and was gone for a while. I see here seat another couple behind us and proceed to take their drink order. She leaves for a few seconds and comes back with their drinks and takes their food order. She walked right past us. WTF?! She brings that couple their food. Seats two guys that just walked in — take their drink order, brings the family their drinks. Finally, she took our order. I think we waited a good 15 min or even more before she came and took our order. Needless to say, the couple seated behind us, who got the special treatment, had already gotten their check and was ready to leave, while in the meantime we were still waiting. Not my best experience. Phở was good, but spring rolls and fried tofu were ok(not all that authentic). We went to phở twin because it was the closet phở restaurant to where We live.

Not a bad place to have lunch. The bbq pork is a bit sweet for my taste. The broken rice is a bit hard. They could use it for fried lice instead. Overall, I’d come back to try their phở next time. Service is quite attentive.

Because of my love for their phở and spring rolls it took a few visits for me to deviate my orders to something else. Having now tasted a few more items from their many choices, I feel qualified to say that if you are in the Rowlett/Rockwall area you should get there before I eat all their food! The phở broth is consistently pleasing in both quality and flavor. They appear to only use fresh produce and while they do skimp on the amount of meat a bit, I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered from the phở, banh mi, salads and the Chef’s specials and the aforementioned spring rolls that come with a delectable peanut sauce that has a tiny little kick of spice. Phở Twins is in a shared space with Yogurt Wasted and after lunch or dinner you can enjoy your choice of many different yogurts and toppings as well as boba teas. Vietnamese family run means it’s authentic and their staff, both family members and extended family members are outstanding and eager to please. A must try!

Ate here yesterday with my 17 month old at 11 when they opened. We had the shrimp and pork spring rolls(yummy) with a mildly spicy peanut sauce(good flavor) to start. I ordered the beef phở with tenderloin. It was a very flavorful broth with plenty of meat and noodles. My son got the cashew chicken. It was served with ranch and a side of rice. Both had good flavor. Hey even have a kids phở which I will get him next time as he was eating mine as fast as I was. Bottom line good price, good portions(got the hungry size bowl), and friendly staff. I can’t wait to go back.

After many months on my Unilocal bookmark list, we decided to make the drive out to Rowlett to try out the phở/yogurt place. The ambiance was casual and friendly. A young man and woman were waiting tables, not sure if they were teens, but they were managing as best they could with a 60−70% filled restaurant. There were lots of families there with a good mix of Asians, so that is usually a good sign when going to a Viet place, lol. We asked them about the phở, bun, and banh mi. The young man was doing the best he could to answer questions but we could tell that he is not that familiar with Vietnamese food. I order bun thit nuong, the wife ordered phở bo vien. We also ordered a young coconut juice and three banh mi to go. The waiter kept asking if we were okay with peanuts, jalapeños, and green onions, lol… there must have been allergy complaints or something. The young coconut juice showed up in five minutes and was way too sweet. We asked if they put sugar and the waitress said yes, «one scoop.» We asked them to make it again with no sugar. She gladly did and it was right then. After about another fifteen minutes, the waitress showed up with two bowls of soup, phở bo vien and phở ga. I told her I didn’t order phở ga. She looked confused then took both bowls away. She came back three minutes later and said, no this is what you ordered. I said, yes ordered phở Bo vien but not phở ga. Then she realized that the waiter or the cook(not sure which) couldn’t tell the difference between«P7» which was phở ga and«B7» which was bun thit nuong. I pointed at the menu for the waiter when we placed the order, so perhaps it was the cook who mixed it up. Anyway the waitress left the phở Bo vien at the table and left with the phở ga and the plate of veggie garnishes. I had to go after her and chase her down for the garnishes. Another ten minutes later and the bun thit nuong showed up. The banh mi came about five minutes before we were done. So, after all that, how was the food? Well… typical Viet restaurant style. Plenty of MSG in the phở broth and bun fish sauce, as well as the marinade for the thit nuong. Noodles were cooked just right though. I ate two of the banh mi when we got home and got MSG’d out by then. So thirsty now, lol. So bottom line is, I likely won’t go back. I can put up with mediocre service if the food is phenomenal(or phở-nomenal), but the food is not quite there yet. If I lived ten minutes away, maybe I would explore the other menu items, but being an hour away, it pretty much eliminates this place off our list. To be fair, phở is hard to make money off of if you make it how it should be with no MSG. We make it at home often with the best ingredients, so most restaurants can’t beat home phở. As for the grilled meat marinade, they should avoid the MSG there too, which is easily done. I don’t know why restaurants cut corners there. I hope they can improve their food and maybe add che to their menu, but perhaps with the yogurt place in the same restaurant, they don’t feel the need for che. If we are around there, we might try it out again, but we definitely won’t be making any special trips just for this place.
