The shushi is bad. All they have is just rice and salmon cucumber. I asked for Philadelphia row which is very easy to do also every buffet place have it but they dont have it. It is not mean they dont have it. They just dont want to make it. They have avocado, they have tuna they have philadelphia cheese. never come back for cheap service.

The variety is there: plenty of choices(Chinese, Mongolian, Sushi, American). However, flavor is not. Most of what I tried was tasteless, no spice, no seasoning. Almost everything had some form of sugar too. It’s clean, tidy, casual atmosphere, great service. But that’s about it. This place looked promising it was disappointing.

I’m sorry before I left one star. I used to love this place so much… Maybe when they have more customers, they don’t respect to customer. The 2 woman waitress and the tall Chinese guy are really wonderful, but the others make us disappointed. This time we come to here at 7:40 pm on Monday. My friends love mussel in here because of their Asian style cooking. We wait more than 1 hour and no one refills. We come to enjoy eating, not for free eating. We don’t know why they do that. When an African American lady asked for some beans, one guy answers with Chinese and nothing happened. We feel dissapointed about the way they do business. We eat enough American food. We don’t come to eat more in Chinese Restaurant. We have to repeat. We pay to eat, not for free. So please respect to people. You are not the only Chinese restaurant in here.

Poor quality. Food upset stomach. Ended up just eating fried rice and that wasn’t much better.

Basic Chinese buffet, nothing special here. The«American» food taste better than the Chinese food, what’s up with that? Sushi didn’t look fresh therefore it was skipped this trip. All the food was appropriate temperatures, customer service with drinks and clean away plates was above average. If you are in need for Chinese and looking to satisfy a craving, this place will do but it’s nothing fancy.

The service was great, but not worth the astonishing pain and projectile vomiting that flung me out of my bed at 3am and continued ALLDAYLONG! Never again Royal Buffet! This is the last time i ever step foot through your doors. All I ate was fruit, rice and broccoli. Everything looked really unappetizing and not very fresh. What a waste of money. I should have known better. As soon as i looked at the selection I wanted to ask for my money back and i wish I had.

Not sure what buffets the other people go to and give this place 2 or 3 stars. I have been to about 10 since moving to Texas and this place is by far the best one yet. Sushi, Mongolian bbq, crab legs and a lot of choices with good flavor by most Chinese places outside of Richardson. Will be going again.

It is super clean, good service, lots of food, good prices, Mongolian grill, sushi, what else could you want from a small town Chinese buffet? They always mail out coupons and I really like eating here. The beer is like 1.25.

What to expect at a Chinese buffet: not much. Although the décor and cleanliness of Royal Buffet is better than most all-you-can-eat places, the food is mostly blegh. The seafood is something you should definitely steer clear from. They taste too boiled and dry. The sushi is pretty nasty as well. The only things I found okay were the crab rangoons, sautéed mushrooms and green beans, and peppered beef. The beef though, is chewy and tastes like plastic(like most Chinese delivery). The staff is nice though. Fast service and they also corrected our bill with no argument! I would most likely come back ONLY if I’m in the area and want a cheap, filling meal. Other than that, there’s some nicer places around the Rowlett area.

Food selection pretty limited, but $ 11(included soda) turned out to be not too bad. However, some of the seasonings and tastes don’t seems to complement with the type of food there. The only thing I really enjoy here are the clams.

We used to come here every single Thursday night after work for a solid six month cycle. The food is mediocre at best; truthfully, it looked better than it tasted. The problems varied; too salty, too sweet, too greasy, too… weird. The shrimp and sushi was always questionable for me BUT, i grew up on the coast back east so it’s perfectly understandable the lack of fresh seafood here in Texas. I did enjoy the hot and sour soup. Consistently delicious. I also really enjoyed the Mongolian grill! Reminiscent of Genghis grill, that alone made our trips worthwhile. But, perhaps the GREATEST part about RB are the little friend doughnuts for dessert. Perfectly fries, perfectly sugared, perfectly delicious. Always warm, stupendous with the weird«ice cream» that they serve. Overall, the place is okay. It’s fun and nice and affordable. They always have coupons available. You win some and you lose some. They lack healthy options. But it’s okay. I would come back.

The selection of food is your average Chinese-American food. Saturday is crab night which is a big hit. The crab is boiled so it looses a lot of crab flavor but still good. Our server was lame, hence the two stars. They were not very busy but he continued to walk past our table to care for other tables. He would even look at our table but was slow to remove our dirty dishes and never bothered to ask about refilling our sodas and water… we didn’t bother to leave him a tip.

Yes I grade buffets on a wicked curve, please filter rating accordingly. I’ve been here a few times since I was told by my friends that it was the better Chinese buffet in the Rowlett/Wylie area, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The food is consistently good, kept well-warmed, and lacks the typical sloppiness and other shortcomings of other competing Asian buffets in the area. Another plus is that my kids *love* this place. The attractiveness of the dishes(at a buffet! I know!) keeps them willing to try new things, the rice is even above-average, and they are always excited about All The Dessert They Can Eat. This is now a mainstay of Daddy-Daughter and Daddy-Son dinners out, and will be for a while. For the price, you can’t beat the selection and quality here.

Really solid Asian buffet at a reasonable price. There’s a lot of selection and people seem to love the crab legs. They would line up for it before a batch is even close to coming out… The sushi here is also pretty good, much better than your standard buffet sushi. The place is also pretty spacious and there are a lot of HDTV screens on the wall, so it’s nice to catch a game and eat at the same time. Probably the best asian buffet in the area.

4 hungry soccer players. This. Nice selection, decent service(it’s a buffet). Typical nutjobs circling the crab leg drawer like it dispensed gold coins — FWIW the crab was satisfactory, not my favorite… but for 11 bucks at a buffet it was fine. We’ll definitely go back.

I have not eaten at many Chinese buffets in the Dallas area but I have eaten at many Chinese buffets around the US. I just stumbled upon this restaurant by a few reviews that I saw and I have to say I was surprised with the service and the food. Sometimes you can’t expect much from a Chinese buffet it’s the same old same old but the food was excellent and the price was tremendously cheap. I walked out of there only spinning $ 10 and that’s including my tip. If you are in the Dallas area I definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner. –BigCat
