This is the perfect place to grab a drink as a local or someone passing through Roxbury. The service was great, and the bartender was very friendly. The food was exactly what I wanted with my beer at the end of the day.

This place reminds me of a place where a good bar fight happens or a place where 100 hells angels come to hang out. Besides that I can’t deny that The Old T-bar shaven my stomach one night when I was starving and was craving a burger. The food was actually pretty good as well as the service. Also when this is the only place around between a 15 mile radius of other restaurants in Roxbury it does the job.

Four of went at 7pm on Saturday, May 5th. Our party was the only one there and the service was horrific. The waitress was overwhelmed with her tickets to Aerosmith that she basically abandoned us. My onion soup was blah and the appetizer chicken wings were plentiful but tasted a bit undercooked. The whole experience was sad because this place used to be busy, vibrant and a fun spot to hang.

If you are looking for a great burger… go here… Or, if you want a great grilled chicken breast… very consistent… good value. there is a table area on one side, and bar and pool and darts area on the other side.

This kind of place looks like it belongs in a Tarantino movie. If you manage to find the parking lot area, you then must venture out into the treacherous gravel and walk up the patio to the sliding door. On your way, watch out for the evil, 30-lb feline. Once there, you slide the door open, as you would do in your own home, and let yourself in. I must admit, if I wasn’t with my boyfriend, and we weren’t starving, I would have walked in and walked out. We went on off-season and there were horseflies everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Nonetheless, we ordered, and, though we were the only ones there, it took an unusually long time for our food to arrive. The food itself, was awful. I got a chicken wrap, which I couldn’t finish. The sweet potato fries I ordered, on the side, were OK enough to eat in a state of starvation, but not at any other time. I resorted to drinking my beer in hopes I would forget how disgusting I felt in this place. If you’re in the area, on vacation, avoid this place. There are other places in the area with much better food for the same price.

On a Tuesday night, we ventured to the T-Bar Saloon with our family. Most dining options within a 10 mile radius of Roxbury were closed this evening. It’s a casual place with a bar, pinball machine, and pool table, but the restaurant had a dining area that was much cleaner than expected. Given our low expectations for food quality, we were pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the burger, strip steak, and sweet potato fries. If you come in with expectations of «gourmet dining», this place will disappoint. Service was slow due to the limited number of waitstaff available.

Overpriced, garbage doo-doo butter — we took home doo-doo leftovers for dog food.

This is the kind of place that seems totally appropriate in a small town upstate setting like Roxbury– 3 miles down the road from downtown(I use the word downtown lightly) Roxbury on a dark unlit highway, no frills, neighborhood folks, cook yukking it up at the bar… the kind of place where the company is more important than the food. C and I enjoyed a late dinner at T Bar, and we loved the coziness of it, and the food wasn’t half bad either. The pulled pork was passable, and the onion rings and sweet potato rings were just what we were craving. I fell for chocolate lava cake– here named«puddle» cake– but in the warm glow of the restaurant it tasted better than anything I’d had all week.
