I debated giving this review — we have been here a few times and it’s always been okay. We recently went here for breakfast and left disappointed. My husbands coffee mug had a bug in it — the waitress gave him a new mug. No big deal, the food was alright. We both for a omelet, but the silverware was dirty and I was missing a fork in mine. When leaving the waitress was trying to sell us her cleaning services and handed us her business card. I am sorry to say, but I won’t be back :(

Omelet was burnt beyond belief. I could not believe they brought that out. Hash browns are just the frozen pre-processed crap and greasy.

The breakfast I ordered was delivered extremely quickly, faster than I expected. However, I ordered my eggs over medium and was served over easy eggs. I also ordered my hash browns and my bacon extra crispy because I like things crunchy. Both of these items were floppy. My bacon had barely touched the grill. While I will agree that the food here is good, they need to pay a bit more attention to what is asked of them. They were not busy. I was one of four tables.

Dirty little diner. Food is nothing special-I ordered a salad and husband orders a breakfast sandwich. It wasn’t terrible but nothing I would recommend. If you want a great diner, go to Charlie’s right down the street. It is a hidden gem and absolutely delicious!!!

Really classic diner experience. The service was amazing and the food was really good. I don’t why anyone would go to a chain restaurant for breakfast if they lived by the Royal Diner.

Been here a few times for breakfast. Farmers omelet was good. The eggs Benedict was also above average. Hash-browns on point and not too greasy.

This is probably our favorite breakfast spot. We also go there for dinner after soccer. The owners are always there and very friendly. The atmosphere is very casual and inviting. The prices are not super cheap but then again you get very good food and large portions. The tuna melt is fantastic!

I was craving a meat lovers skillet and decided to try somewhere new. This place showed up on Unilocal and I am so pleased it did. The meat lovers skillet was amazing. Bacon, ham, sausage, cheese, eggs, and hash browns. If my carry out order was amazing I can only imagine dining in. I would definitely eat from there again. Nice staff too.

Quaint little place. Owner is very kind and attentive. Gets to know her customers. Food was good. Eggs benedict were a little over cooked but still had good flavor. Sweet cream pancakes are good(kind of small compared to other places). Had several flies buzzing around which was kind of annoying. I will definitely go back and try something else. I think the at-home-feel will grow on me.

Small spot great for Sat or Sun morning breakfast! I usually get the southern skillet and it’s more than enough food for half the day.

Where do I begin? My friend and I went here not too long ago to eat breakfast together. «It’s got four Unilocal Stars» he told me with vigor. I shook my head like a metronome. «Ok» I said. Let’s do it. So we strapped my son into his car and off we went. First impressions… Dirty lil diner. Okay. I can handle that. Some really good food comes from places like these. But… The baby highchairs were so incredibly sticky, I couldn’t even move the buckles. When I tried to buckle my son in, the clips were broken. I thought about tying it around my sons belly, but… I didn’t. My hands came away with a visible gluey like substance, that I could only assume was years old, gelatinized food. Pop was flat, but cold. But best for last… There was a HUGE cook’s hair in my omelette. At first, I tried to deal, but when the cook walked out of the kitchen and I realized he didn’t have a hair net on at all, I knew I could not finish my food. My friend was gracious and traded with me, but I mean… I knew it came from the same cook… so…I stuck to the toast. Which is all really sad because the waitress, who im pretty sure owns the place is just so sweet… She just must not have a cleaning bone in her body. I’d liken eating here to eating at a restaurant in a different country. They have wigglier tendencies when it comes to sanitization.

Happened on royal diner by passing and it was really well done food. If you’re ever nearby… Drop in for a solid breakfast.

My friend lives on the same block and seeing how Unilocal has good reviews we came here for brunch. The place is your typically diner. Nothing too fancy. A lot of booths with a couple tables and a counter top. No need to worry about having to wait in line. We both got coffee and they came over to refill once during our dining experience. We weren’t there for that long so once was just right. My friend got the short stakes of the sweet cream pancakes. I had a bite and it was pretty darn tasty. Unique and wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. I got the meat lover’s skillet. It comes with toast. It was so much food it was enough for two meals! Good deal. Overall, it was good. I don’t know if I would go out of my way to eat here but if I am in the area sure why not! Take your bill up front to pay. They do not accept american express.

I drive past this place daily, and finally decided to try it. I was told they have the best pancakes in Michigan, and I would have to agree! Their sweetcream pancakes were delicious! This place is a little hidden gem! SO cute and the service was excellent! I will definitely be back!

What a hidden gem. Great homemade American diner food. Way better than your average Coney Island. Our family comes here a few times a month and we are always treated well and the food is always delicious. Personal favorites are the southern burrito(scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, peppers & onions wrapped in a tortilla and smothered with sausage gravy), Gina’s special(chicken tenders, lettuce, tomato, cheese and ranch wrapped in a pita) and their chicken noodle soup rivals my own! My husband loves any of their specials(today’s meatball sub was fantastic) and my daughter thinks their chicken parm and French fries are the best. Definitely the place for comfort food!

Took my 5 yr old boy here after church last Sunday afternoon around 1:30 and I was told that we just missed the big rush(thank God!). Nice little spot, really clean, SUPER staff, good and creative specials, food was o.k. They get 4 stars for not beating the shit out of my kid and for taking very good care of us. Our server was beyond pretty and was totally getting hassled by this clown next to us at the bar(he had absolutely NOGAME) and I felt really sorry for her… but dig this, not only was she an expert at dodging this idiot but she actually apologized to US because she thought this asshat was disturbing our breakfast. She was downright awesome…

Love this place for breakfast. I haven’t tried them for lunch or dinner yet — but the menu looks great there too. I love that it’s family run and everything has a home cooked taste to it. Their skillets are really good, great pancakes, good coffee, and really good service.

Royal Diner has GREAT breakfast food. Pete’s French toast is amazing– it’s a special they have once in awhile that’s French toast dipped in cinnamon sugar. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the meat lover’s skillet, which I’ve tasted and also really like. If you’re going for lunch, be sure to get a side of cole slaw. It’s absolutely amazing. Their wings are also pretty good.

Best. Pancakes. Ever. This was my first visit, but it absolutely will not be my last. I ordered the Southern Belle(I think that’s what it was called) — sausage and biscuits topped with 2 eggs — and it was delicious. Hubby ordered the sweet cream pancakes, and next time I will, too. Perfect texture — a bit crispy on the outside and fluffy and tender inside. And perfect taste — slightly sweet with a buttery mouth-feel. YUM! Decent coffee and friendly efficient service, round out the trifecta of breakfast requirements. If it’s as good the next time I go, this little place might need 5 stars.
