Best Belgium waffle vegan special with fresh strawberries — loved it. My son was bragging about this he had been there multiple times with his friends. He took my my husband and large family for brunch and everything was perfect for his 50th birthday. Will go there again and again.

I ordered the silver dollar pancakes with blueberries, and the corned beef hash! The pancakes were okay, nothing too special about them. But he corned beef was great!

I cannot even fathom that this is the same place. Obviously the old owners are not here anymore. Service and breakfast were awful. Not even worth going into details. Would never eat here again.

Vegan options on a menu = winning every time! I’ve never had a bad meal here. The tofu scrambles & vegan pancakes are delish! The portions are just the right size. Oh, and make sure you get their home fries… they don’t disappoint! The staff is friendly and I love that I can almost always get a seat at the counter if no tables are available. The only negative is that they aren’t open for dinner.

The Rutherford Pancake house is a gem in rutherford. The is place is one of the few places I can bring my fiancé and not worry about if she can eat vegan. They are always soon nice and the service is great. The food is also to die for, and if your not happy with it they will fix it even if it’s your fault. A great experience hands down.

I am genuinely mad at myself for not coming to Rutherford Pancake House sooner! Let me just start with saying that people are not lying when they say the Irish Benedict is AMAZING. 10 of my family members stopped in on a Tuesday around 1:30pm and were sat right away. The service was great! Some of my family got the skillets, which looked sooo good. I’ll definitely have to give them a try in the future. But I’m so obsessed with the Irish Benedict that I can’t imagine not ordering it. The worst thing about Rutherford Pancake House is the street parking. As annoying as it is, it’s totally worth driving around in circles for that food. I can’t wait to go back!

Was not the biggest fan of the french toast compared to others i have had. Seemed flavorless. The eggs were well made but i mean what diner cant make eggs. On a positive note, prices were good. Most diners these days are charging as much as restaurants but wasnt the case here. If you want a hearty meal at a good price come here. Dont expect anything spectacular.

I love the Rutherford Pancake house! I most recently went on a Sunday at around 10am and we were sat right away at a table for two. I was actually surprised because I know this place can get crowded; maybe it was the rainy, icky weather. I ordered the Cinnamon Raisin Bread with Fresh Fruit & Crème Fraiche and my boyfriend had one of the Daddy O’ Combos. This is a great brunch spot located on Park Avenue in Rutherford. I’ve only been to this spot, but they have three 3 locations in NJ. Not a place for a huge group during rush hour, but it’s definitely kid friendly. I love everything on their menu! You can’t go wrong. I also like the atmosphere. It’s very homey, which is exactly the feeling I want when gorging myself on hearty breakfast delights.

Rutherford Pancake House has both its positives and negatives, not enough negatives to keep me away, but this place is not usually my first choice for breakfast on the weekend. First of all, it’s usually super crowded with a line out the door. Second, it obviously can get pretty packed and noisy on the inside. I’ve gone to Rutherford Pancake House a handful of times. I’ve found the menu item that is my go to — egg, cheese, and tomato on a croissant. It’s simple, but very very good. I also ordered a fruit salad on the side and it’s a nice amount of food for the morning. I’ve obviously had to try the pancakes there too. They are good and have a nice combination of different kinds. Depending on who you might get as a waiter, they will sometimes let you mix different kinds of pancake combos, others won’t. Boo. Last time I was there, we had a super sassy waitress who I really enjoyed. She was nice, accommodating, and let my group sit and chit chat for a bit. When I eat there I prefer to sit at a table with separate chairs. When you sit at the booths you can feel every movement from the person behind you. It can get very very obnoxious. I feel that there are better breakfast places in the area, but if you are out of ideas and have some time to wait, stop by the Rutherford Pancake House for a decent breakfast.

This was my first time here after hearing great things from my parents for a year now. RPH did not let down ! With 5 people and a baby(which includes a lot of junk) they gave us a great table with plenty of room. The food all came out in a timely manner and all at once which is important. Some hits were the DADDY-0 combos and the stuffed French toast . There are 3 daddy-o combos to choose from. I enjoyed the French toast made with homemade bread, eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. There was enough food for 2 people! The stuffed French toast is filled with cream cheese whipped with orange juice making it light and airy. Be sure to wash it all down with fresh squeezed OJ. Looking forward to go back and try some other delicious choices.

I hate waiting for my food. However, at popular locations, I understand that sometimes I must. My mom and I planned a brunch here with her friend and daughter. This party of 4 waited 40 minutes to be seated. Of course I checked on Unilocal 2 days before we arrived(don’t we all) so that I could promptly order my meal. I selected the Vegan Popeye Scramble. I’m not a huge breakfast person and wanted something light and satisfying. Upon review of the table’s order, the waiter mentioned that I’d recieve my wholegrain toast with vegan butter on the side. That wasn’t my recommendation so I inquired. The waiter said that they don’t have spreadable butter so it’s served on the side standard. I will highlight the importance of this later. Service was prompt and pleasant. Presentation was nice. However, 3 out of the 4 of us ordered pancakes which were served on dinner sized plates. With the addition of the meat/egg orders we had 7 dinner plates on the table. With drinks and scramble dishes and my toast plate. Looked like a circus balancing act. We were doing the breakfast plate shuffle at the table. It was funny actually. Not too much of an annoyance. They didn’t play any Prince music which was surprising since this is a trendy little spot and playing an artists music upon their death is a trendy thing to do. Especially if you’ve rarely played the music before… sorry, ranting. I really enjoyed my meal. The Vegan sausage was cut to a great size. I’ve purchased this sausage at home and the texture can be overwhelming if cut too large. So great job. I liked everything. Our server was attentive and cleared the table as we finished our plates. Oh, I almost forgot. The fresh squeezed oj is delicious. I had to cut mine with a ¾ cup of water because I don’t like extremely sweet beverages. Though I’m a bit abnormal, I understand what tastes good to regular folk and the oj was sweet and fresh tasting. Very good. Okay, I’m ending this review now. So, about the toast, I saw a server come out the kitchen with buttered toast. My server lied to me. My vegan butter was spreadable, so, yeah.

Street parking only. Edgar V. and I came here for our usual after work meeting brunch. It’s the original location of the same people who own the Maywood Pancake House, so the menu is identical. It looks similar to its sister location, but features some exposed brick wall. It is also a little bit larger. Service was friendly enough. I tried the southwestern sunrise omelette, which contained chorizo, cheddar, and cilantro. I wish the cilantro was in my omelette instead of on top, because the flavor wasn’t really there. The food is good here, but I prefer the ambiance and service at its sister location

Wow! I’m floored by this place. I can’t believe I’ve lived in this area for so many years and have never known about their vegan menu. Hubs and I dined here for the first time today and we were amazed how delicious their Popeye tofu scramble was. mushrooms, soy chorizo, spinach… mmmmm. I also had the ginger orange French toast… holy yumminess! And huge portions. I’m currently eating my breakfast leftovers for dinner :) The wait staff was super friendly and very attentive, never letting our coffee go low. I see only one downfall, not being a 100% vegan restaurant. Just kidding, we are taking over the world, it will happen soon enough :)

So many people huddled up in the entrance, waiting for their name to be called. About a 25 minute wait on a Sunday which wasn’t too bad. I ordered hot tea and challah french toast with a side of bacon. I felt the french toast was good, I would have liked a crispier crust though. I also got the vermont 100% maple syrup which makes a difference vs regular syrup! Delicious. All in all, good place for brunch… they have a lot of variety in their menu and the service is great

Affordable, tasty food, and friendly staff. I don’t give them 5 stars because the wait to get in and to get your order is long. We went on a Sunday and the wait was about 30mins. It’s good for groups, kids and vegans. The brunch menu has endless options and all are delicious. I’ll definitely go back, but not in brunch hours.

I had been hearing about this place for a while but was not sure if it was 100% vegan so I didn’t think too much about it until someone recommended it. I took my friend for her birthday it was a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy but not packed. It looks like a regular diner the décor was ok nothing special. We both ordered the tofu scramble. She got the vegan Popeye and I got the Roman. They both were good but to my surprise they both were lacking tofu! I didn’t have problems with the service like a lot of people complained everyone was nice. As a vegan it was nice going to a regular diner and having options but the smell of bacon can be overwhelming so the experience wasn’t great

Quite impressed with this place. I was honestly expecting low grade diner quality and was pleasantly surprised! Had the Daddy-O breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, and pancakes. The sausage is out of this world(not your boring gross breakfast sausage links). Got the pancakes gluten-free and with chocolate chips, and it was hard to believe, but they tasted AMAZING. The Irish Benedict was perfection. The grits with white cheddar, bacon and jalapeños was great. My only criticism is that we asked whether the jalapeños are fresh or not and the server said that they were, but in the dish they’re clearly from a jar and pickled. The quality of the food here is great. I’ve been here several times and never been disappointed. Go to spot!

I don’t remember service being this bad. My family and I would love coming here on weekends and even though it was full service was pretty good. Last couple of times the waiter seemed more interested in hanging out in the kitchen than taking care of us. They also must have a new policy were they can’t leave the kitchen without a full tray because I’m sorry kids meals are usually done quicker and should be out first. By the time he showed up again and served 2 tables at the same time food seemed cold. They do have a good selection of food and my wife appreciates all the vegan options. Pancakes and French toast are amazing and my children love it. I ordered the omelet and it just seemed smaller than usual. My wife ordered a meal and the avocados seemed oddly colored and didn’t taste well. All of these things happened on my last 2 visits and I’m surprised the quality went down. I guess maybe the C team works on weekday morning and I should just come during the weekend.

This was an almost perfect Sunday Brunch experience and even though my meal fell a little flat, I would gladly come back and give this place another shot. The service, décor and variety get 5 stars in my book. At around 11AM, the wait was about 30 minutes for a party of 2, but we ended up waiting only about 15. I can tell this a point of contention with some, especially larger groups since the majority of their seating is comprised of booths and small tables. There was one table for 10, and it seemed to be the only options for a group bigger than 4. It seemed as though they do not take reservations, but maybe calling ahead for a bigger group would be a good idea. If not, just get there early or before hunger actually strikes. My almond milk latte was delicious! I didn’t want it to end and drank almost all of it before my food came out, which then left me with almost no appetite as it was pretty big. I ordered the Maryland Benedict and my boyfriend had the Daddy-O with gluten-free pancakes. Everything came out pretty promptly and our waitress was sure to check-in regularly. The Daddy-O came with so much food. I don’t know about you but large portions and an affordable, hearty breakfast always makes me smile on a Sunday. The crab cake on my eggs benny were a little disappointing. It seemed as though they were made ahead of time and then re-heated to order, which isn’t a crime against humanity but mine ended up coming out way over cooked. There also wasn’t as much crab as I would have liked, but in hindsight it was really flavorful. One of my eggs was also undercooked so when I went to Instagram my #YolkPorn, it was an epic fail :(That aside, the home fries were on point. FINALLY, actually seasoned home fries! Why do so many advertise this and then fall very very short? Not here, these potatoes were on point! The appeal to gluten-free/vegetarian/vegan diners, is also wonderful. Lots of options and accommodations for you! Despite the negativity of this review, I liked this place a lot overall. Now I just know not to order the benedicts here. Maybe the French Toast next time though, hm…

So after reviewing it’s sister location in Maywood, we decided to switch it up and give this place a go! MAYWOODREVIEW: My sister showed me this place! What a charming spot! expect to wait to be seated for weekend brunch hours(waiting is worth it!). The service was great the portions are massive and the food– YUM! I went with the Mexican inspired skillet mix! OH-MY-GOODNESS i was swimming in a sea of flavors! Never thought brunch could taste this good! Their coffee was good too, they seemed to cook everything right but did forget out side of medallion chocolate chip pancakes(honestly it was so much food we didnt need it anyway!) Definitely go this spot. From what I know, they has a sister location in Rutherford i always see a line at. However, Maywood– you may have my heart on this one. RUTHERFORD: Honestly, I think Maywood has a slight«up» on Rutherford location. Food, just as delicious! Something about the ambiance and layout of Maywood seems more charming. All in all, worth the wait(if there is one) and delicious. Can’t go wrong with either and service was just as good.
