Mother Clucker’s

Catchy name. Simple product. Mostly wings. Takeout. ‘Nuff said? There are choices though — wings or chicken strips, or tenders, as they call them, along with a bunch of different sauces. Some sauces cost a buck more. And you can get a sandwich, and naturally, fries. Looks iike they’ve got traction from the neighborhood, the downside is that if you just walk in, you might have to wait a while to walk away with your order due to the phoned in take-​out orders. Seems to be a busy place, with staff on the go. There’s a new bar next door, the Hide-​Away, where you could spend the downtime if you need to wait. Maybe in the summer they’ll put a bench out by the front. The chicken was tasty, definitely not dry, though there was a little more residual oil than I would have wanted that seemed to dilute the sauce a little. Not sure what pressure fried is vs immersion frying, but my only hope, be it a ridiculous one, is that pressure fried means it somehow a healthier option. And maybe makes the frying process shorter, so they can meet the demand more easily during the busy times.
