I was seated immediately. Waitress was attentive without being intrusive. I had the French dip. Can there be too much meat? It was tender and tasty. Could have used a tad more jus. Price was reasonable. I would eat here again.

I have ate lunch here several times. Food has always been great. Love that there are Mexican options., and usually Mexican specials. Service is always great, and I love eating out back on the patio.

Server was Laura tonight. Post Spartan beast. She was the right combination of sarcastic and fantastic service. Made my NY heart swell. And feel at home. I was craving a burger. And the menu drew me in. Garlic Sweet Potato fries? Kale Slaw?! Let’s do it. Food was good enough to rival burger places in NY. Seriously. I’m shocked. If in Rutland, come and visit. Ask for Laura.

Really excellent food. Atmosphere inside is so, so. We ate on the back patio. That was nice. Wait staff seemed rushed.

The Reuben review caught my eye, and being my favorite sandwich for years, I thought I would try it. My expectations were somewhat high and I most certainly was not disappointed! I asked for it with no dressing, as I prefer mustard only. It is served on what looked like marble swirl rye, and what makes the sandwich remarkable is the corned beef. It was obviously hand carved, and had just enough fat visible to add flavor. I discussed the sandwich with my server, and found out the corned beef is roasted in-house and hand carved! Enough said. The service was very good, and my server was attentive, and the hostess came by and checked in with me as well. Nice to sit on the rear outside patio.

Kelvan’s is a great place to stop by for lunch, and the menu always has a great variety to choose from. The wings are amazing, along with the burgers and fries. The mexican is also a great addition to the menu. Be sure to check out the daily specials.

Kelvans is my favorite place in Rutland for lunch. My wife and I are regulars: we have NEVER had a bad meal or experience. The menu boasts something for every taste, and the daily specials are always excellent. The prices are reasonable when compared to other local establishments. The staff is friendly and the owner always makes a point of stopping at our table to say hi. If I didn’t work out of town I’d eat at Kelvans more often.

Not the greatest. We went for just apps and drinks and the apps were dry and the cocktails were weak

We had a great lunch there yesterday. Waitress was really nice. My Cobb salad was perfect! Son’s burger(off regular menu, not kids) was great. Other son had a burrito from specials menu– good but not great. We’d go again.

First time there not memorable. But second time was the charm, good specials, friendly service — great place before a movie or the paramount

Great food, cheerful servers and a nice little restaurant with full bar and kid friendly in a great town! Tried their burger, marble rye veg sandwich, butternut squash soup, clam chowder, quesedilla & chicken fingers! Food was well prepared and while it took some time to get to our table, it was well worth the wait!

I’ve eaten here a couple times now for lunch and was very satisfied both times. The reuben is huge and sweet potato fries are tasty. The servers are friendly and attentive. The pricing is fair…$ 9 burger and fries, $ 11 reuben and fries. I would totally eat here again when I’m back in town!

I really wanted to like this place. unfortunately it was the first and last time. I gave it two stars only because the staff was welcoming and attentive. Other than that, it was pretty disappointing. I dont understand how in this day and age any one can serve olives and hummus and flat bread, and send out two pieces of toasted bread, a lump of barely recognizeable orange hummus with a few sliced canned black olives on top of a scoop of romaine lettuce. This was on the special menu. They accomodated a request for broiled salmon on the Caesar salad instead of chicken. The salmon smelled so fishy that we didnt eat much of it… the salad was just barely fresh. couldnt tell if there was dressing on it or not. Dont bother.

I love this place. Whenever I get a chance to dine in Rutland this is where I go. The BAB burger is the best burger you’ve ever had… Period. Lots of daily specials and great service. A must try!

The side salad veggies were not too good. Sick looking cukes and maters. I had the rib-eye special and it was melt in your mouth delicious. Loved the outside patio seating.

I had a great meal — rib eye special with onion and grape marmalade(I was thinking what are you doing putting fruit on my rib eye). The rib eye was a perfectly marbled, melt in your mouth steak. The grape and onion was an unusually good addition to a great steak, and a lot more interesting than most steak houses are doing. I had the same steak at a Capitol Grille, and The Palm, and Kelvans was less than ½ the price and head and shoulders better. Seriously, if you’ll pay $ 45 for a rib eye with coffee grounds rubbed on it(«Kona encrusted») you can try the grape and onion. The staff is exceptionally nice and attentive. The ginormous panko breaded mozzarella sticks were a completely different experience than the deep fried cheese sticks that most restaurants serve. The mesculin greens with goat cheese, pecans, and balsamic dressing was really nice way to recover from the huge mozz sticks. I also tried the sesame chicken with ginger scallion hoisin sauce appetizer. They seem to have forgotten that they are cooking in Rut-Vegas, which is OK because the food takes you to a better place. The standard menu is mostly salads, sandwiches, and burgers, and the entrees change as specials. It’s a really comfortable and casual space with nice patio in the back. Kelvans offers a range of food that can accommodate the urge for cheese-steaks and burgers to the hankering for something a little more exceptional. I have gone back to Kelvans many times and I have two recommendations(1) get the specials; and(2) always get an appetizer special. The specials are really special. I had an amazing meatloaf with a complex flavor and texture of fennel, and garlic. The salmon was perfect. Brad the Chef/Owner does an amazing job with fish. The fried oyster po boy was crazy. The fresh oysters melted in your mouth like juicy puffs of meat and they overwhelmed the po boy roll and covered the plate. I just had the Kelvanator wrap, which was an over the top combination of slow cooked BBQ brisket, kale slaw, roasted red peppers and onions, with french fries and a panko breaded mozzarella stick inside the wrap. It’s like a Vermont Primanti Brothers Sandwich. The specials are an amazing value. I had 30 minutes between kid activities and stopped in for a beer and paid five bucks for a plate of hand made pasta purses with fontana cheese, proscuitto, with a creamy alfredo sauce. It is always worth it to stop in for an appetizer. The curried butternut squash with craizins and candied walnuts is amazing. The downside is that I had lunch with my 8 year old son who asked for chocolate milk so Brad described how he made it with a chocolate ganache. So Hershey’s syrup doesn’t cut it at home anymore.
