Fantastic place! We were nearly daily patrons for years until we moved away. Great deli sandwiches, I loved the Veggie Delight on sourdough grilled. Awesome desserts– Blondie brownies, Milkshakes, and a rotating variety of in-house made cakes! Ask for Keisha, She’s the best!

As a first time visitor, I was impressed. The hamburger is amazing and beautifully wrapped. This is definitely a place you want to stop at if you’re passing through.

The Caboose is awesome. Friendliest waitresses ever can be found there! My daughters adore the hamburgers… I love that you can have any sandwich as a salad instead!!! Brilliant! Yummy shakes here too! Great prices and fast service! We go any time we get the chance!

Worth going out of the way for some great sandwiches. They subscribe to the local food movement. Fast, friendly, delicious. Check it out.

Love the atmosphere and food. I had the Amtrak sandwich on Sourdough, and it was delicious. Reminded me of sandwiches at my grandparents where they would always spend a little more time than I would on a sandwich and it would come out great. The Amtrak was just a straight forward turkey, bacon, and cheese sandwich with lettuce and tomato, but it was delicious and well made. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great lunch.

Tiny little restaurant with the nicest people working there. We just stopped for ice cream, but you’d think we were at a five-star restaurant the way they treated us. When we inquired about a flavor we didn’t see available, they promptly went through their storage and dug out a fresh container.

The two other reviews(I’m surprised there aren’t more) are spot-on accurate. This place is worth shaping your hiking trip around. I had the tastiest gazpacho ever — no exaggeration. It had chunks of roasted garlic and lots of zest without being overbearing. I don’t think it’s normally on the menu but they’re bound to have other specials. The place itself is something you trip over — we almost missed it while driving through the countryside with the dog. Make sure to sit outside on the charming deck and soak up some sun. We also had tasty sammies and milkshakes that were beyond TDF. Make sure to hitch your train to this caboose ’cause you can’t go wrong.(Sorry, I had to make that joke.)

When you’re out and about scoutin’ for hickory wood for a fire you get hungry. And lucky is the feller that comes across a gem like the Caboose. First, it is an old train caboose. That’s saying something right away that I like. What? I don’t know. But they have a great chicken salad sandwich and sublime BLT’S. Along with that they will pour you some wonderful fresh lemonade. All aboard!

GREAT lunch place, what a find. Very simple, with sandwiches like grilled cheeses and turkey sandwiches. They are served on sourdough and are just delicious. They also brew their own root beer and have snow balls. Can’t beat it! Also a great atmosphere. Very authentic. If you are in the area, definitely get lunch at the Caboose.
