The worst floral experience of my life! I selected a deluxe arrangement through an online company, in which this florist ended up getting selected to put together and deliver. The first arrangement arrived and was nothing more than disappointing and didn’t represent the original picture at all. It was supposed to be filled with large and small roses, they added 2 in the entire arrangement, and substituted carnations at the same time it was very sparse without a lot of flowers. I was embarrassed my name was even attached to such a disappointing ugly arrangement. I complained to online company, at this time I didn’t know who had done such a horrific job creating this, they contacted Rutland who was supposed to deliver an upgraded to premium arrangement the next day. They never showed up!!! and then Two days later delivered to the wrong address! with an even worse subpar arrangement than the first when they was supposed to be an ‘upgrade’, it was a different color scheme and cheap grade flowers, no roses as indicated. I wouldn’t recommend this florist for even buying a weed from, clearly they are not knowledgable regarding quality of flowers, don’t take pride in their arrangements and are ok with delivering disappointments to the wrong addresses.

My wife and I got married this past October and had a difficult time finding a florist who was willing to work with us given the size of our wedding. We didn’t have a bridal party and only needed a bouquet, corsage, and 2 pieces for our ceremony. Alison made us feel welcome and that our floral needs were just as important as any other couple! Lauren’s bouquet was GORGEOUS (white roses & calla lilies) and Val’s corsage was also beautiful (2 calla lilies). The ceremony pieces were beautiful vases filled with baby’s breath.

They did a great job making floral dog wreaths to go around the necks of my two dogs for a family photo shoot. Everyone there was very kind, enthusiastic and flexible about the floral wreaths and open to the idea of doing wreaths for dogs. Their prices were about what I expected to pay and it was an easy experience. Hopefully I have some more events for which I will need flowers in the future so I can go back!

The floral arrangement I received was basically DEAD. Everything was wilting! I wasn’t going to complain because I figure its the thought that counts (I received the flowers from my boyfriend) but this is just ridiculous! I get mad every time I walk past the arrangement. The flowers on the website look one way and look at what I was sent! I suggest you take your business elsewhere! Happy Valentines Day to me!

Years and years ago, I got a corsage and boutinierre for prom… This past memorial day, Rutland Beard supplied the amazing flowers for my wedding. Our truly spectacular flowers received more compliments than I can count. I hope I get an opportunity to see more of Alisons beautiful designs in the future!

I’ve ordered and received flowers from Rutland Beard. They are expensive. I would have appreciated more flexibility in the order — I really wanted only one kind of flower, and the agent insisted on selling me an arrangement with other items.

They helped me put together an arrangement of what they had in stock so I could do a same day order. They came out beautiful and the woman on the phone was really nice. I got an anniversary arrangement. 3 hours after my order, I get a text from my girlfriend about how much she loves the flowers. Thank you for helping me on a late notice!

Besides that, I will talk specifically about my experiences at this store. To start, the service was awesome. I was a first time flower buyer and I was looking to find some assistance in making my first purchase. As I walked in and was greeted by one of the employees, I cut to the chase and immediately told her that I needed something that said «Sorry about this past weekend, I’m a BIG OL’ idiot.» It was just as immediate that the all female staff smelled blood, swarmed me and giving me crap and busting my balls…
«Well, how much are you looking to spend?»
«$ 250, 300 dollars?»
«Oh, you’ll definitely need to buy her this $ 300 arrangement AND a balloon AND this card.»
After giving me a bit of crap, she directed my attention to a bouquet that was set out only minutes before. Now, I’m not really good at determining the value of one pretty thing over another. However, I definitely thought it was colorful and therefore, good enough. I selected it and made arrangements for the flowers to be delivered to the intended recipient’s apartment. When asked if the flowers would be safe until she got home, I replied that I didn’t know, but the fact that she didn’t live somewhere in West Baltimore and her flowers weren’t likely to be trampled upon by the rowdy byproducts of the Baltimore City Public School System (I’m allowed, I’m a proud dropout of said public school system), I was willing to risk it. However, when she mentioned the alternative of having the flowers delivered to her job, I thought to myself, «Wait a minute… I can have the flowers delivered to her job!», changed course and quickly made arrangements to have the flowers delivered to her job.
Redundant, much?
Anyway, the service here was superb and they definitely helped to make my first flower buying experience a memorable one. The recipient of the flowers was very pleased with them. And I thought so much of the service that I stopped back into the store the next day to thank them and tell them Mission Accomplished. I’d definitely recommend this location to anyone and will look to shop here again… should the need arise. *fingers crossed*

Alison did the bouquets, flower centerpieces and chuppah for my May 26 wedding, and everything was amazing. I know nothing about flowers, so I just sort of made vague comments about what kinds of things I like, and she managed to translate that into a stunningly gorgeous bouquet. She also went above and beyond the day of making sure the chuppah was set up correctly and was going to stay standing (it was a breezy day). Highly, highy recommend!

Amazing owner who makes the store perfect. My son needed a corsage for his prom date. Rutland, who did not know us, spent A LOT of time with him and came through with the most gorgeous corsage I’ve ever seen. A bit pricey, but for quality and customer service it’s the best! I always shop local stores if possible– this is why!
